Raw footage recently posted on Twitter allegedly shows supply crates and parachutes that the US delivered to Islamic State militants while they were in control of Iraq's largest oil refinery. The video caused an uproar among Iraqis, some of whom believe that Washington is supporting the brutal group.

The footage was published by Hayder al-Khoei, an associate fellow in the Middle East and North Africa Program at Chatham House. Titled 'US supports ISIS,' it is said to be one of many similar videos circulating on the internet.

Not much to be seen, he bailed out while there was no burning rampaging inside the crew compartment otherwise we would see him and his hatch being another source of fire coming out.

Doesn't matter anyway, tank is destroyed and is finished off with SPG/RPG or more ATGM's.

Secondary over pressure penetrated the fighting compartment before blowing off the other panel. That's why the commander got the fvck out, because the loader had been hit by ATGM path.

The little scum and many people out there have understood where the Abrams is Very Vulnerable, that's at 3/4 and 7/8 o'clock. ATGM punches through side armor and then through armored doors. This ignites the loads and causes primary and secondary overpressure. That's not something casual, it's taught.

Well that was the exact case of the M1A2S of saudis where it hit exactly where the access doors are and ripped apart the entire interior of the tank along with crew except one.

Unfortunatley they do not teach such stuff to common soldiers, i doubt they teach much about that kind of stuff to tankers, ATGM teams or RPG teams.

“Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was injured in the bombing that targeted his motorcade,” the center said in a statement on Sunday.

It added that two terrorist leading figures – Abu Omar Kubaisi and Abu Saad Karbouli – were also injured in the attack.

Local media reported earlier Baghdadi’s fate remained unknown after Iraqi Air Forces attacked an ISIL convoy in the western Iraqi province of Anbar.

Great news of true, after seeing the syrian army liberating town after town this week and being pounded constantly from the air, now they see their glorious leader being hit by a raid. Shame it didnt kill him but the writing is on the wall for all to see. They are living on borrowed time.

From oct 8th, but very interesting comments from the iraqi pm and how he feels about the US effort to fight isis.

yes it is. quite clearly timely intelligence from the Syrian side of the border enabled the Iraqi aircraft to scramble and reach the border in time to catch his convoy as it entered Iraqi lands...

very good start for the centre. I'm sure there are some sour grapes around the middle east and north america...


even if baghdadi wasn't killed... he and his cohorts now realise that their movements are tracked closely and that local people in the areas they are ruling are informing on their movements.

They will lash out vainly at their population now in revenge.

Its sometimes better not to kill but, as is claimed, to injure a leader. Depending on how bad it can make decisions and logistics harder and it is usually difficult to appoint a replacement. I did see a comment somewhere that as this guy is part way thro' his 9 lives that it may be a 'title' and that different men perform the role, bit like 'President'.

If he is injured you have to wonder where and by who he is being treated.

Leader of the Islamic State Abu Bakr al-Bagdadi was injured in Iraqi Army's airstrike. Currently he is in a hospital, a local source confirmed to Sputnik Monday.

Earlier it was reported that the leader of the Islamic State (ISIL) jihadist group had been injured in an airstrike in Iraq.

"Al-Baghdadi was wounded and currently is at a hospital of Al-Qaim. The hospital is encircled by the [ISIL] group's militants," a source told Sputnik.

The town of Al-Qaim is located in the northwest of Iraq on the border with Syria.

A leading figure of the Islamic State (ISIL) terrorist group Abu Omar al-Shishani was killed during the bombing of an ISIL convoy, IRNA reported citing an Iraqi source.

According to the source, al-Shishani, a Georgian-born Chechen, was in charge of ISIL propaganda activities.

On Sunday, the Iraqi Air Force attacked the convoy of ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in the Western Iraqi province of Anbar. The motorcade was heading to a meeting of ISIL commanders.

It's not even clear what role Baghdadi plays in IS. So far, Adnani appeared to have far greater influence than him at least as far as the propaganda side of the organization is concerned. Baghdadi hasn't made a single public appearance since June 2014, only voice recordings were released.

I even like this leader concept - a shadowy figure that stays behind and pulls the strings while nobody outside knows whether he has any power.

I dont know if this has been seen earlier, but I came across this funny video while browsing...actually its a strike by US on ISIS artillery titled - US AirStrike Filmed By ISIS Fighter in Iraq - ISIS Artillery Cannon Striked.  



In this staged video, we can see lots of armed men around the m46 initially and then area is empty with a single fighter with his hands covering his ears, expecting a strike and then it happens. The US dropped GBU arrives and decimate the artillery. Probably this how the US has been bombing the ISIS for the past one year.

It is just a matter of time before the Russian Air Force starts bombing isis terriosts in Iraq, NATO/US has done nothing and everyone knows. The visits by top Iraqi politicians and officials to Moscow are happening for a reason and there are talks of another airport for the Russian Air Force so they can increase the amounts of attacks they do from 60 a day to 200-300 a day, this is happening because Iraq is going to be involved.

Iraqi Army Launches Phase Two of Anti-ISIL Offensive in Central Province

According to Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi, the Iraqi Armed Forces started the second phase of a military operation to liberate the central province of Salah al-Din from the Islamic State (ISIL) militant group.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Iraqi Armed Forces started the second phase of a military operation to liberate the central province of Salah al-Din from the Islamic State (ISIL) militant group, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi said Tuesday.

ISIL has been occupying vast territories of Salah al-Din since 2014. In March, the Iraqi army launched an anti-ISIL operation in the province, liberating several of its districts, including the regional capital of Tikrit.

"PM [Prime Minister] Al-Abadi meets with military commanders and volunteers near Baiji [northern Iraqi city] and launches phase 2 of operations to liberate Salahuddin province," Abadi said on his Twitter account.

According to media reports, the second stage of the operation is aimed at liberating the rest of the province, including Baiji, a city home to the country’s largest oil refinery.

ISIL is an extremist group that occupies large areas of Iraq and Syria and seeks to establish a caliphate ruled by strict Sharia law on the territory under its control. The group has affiliates operating in Yemen, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

TEHRAN, October 13. /TASS/. The Islamic State terrorist organization has confirmed that Abu Muslim al-Turkmani, the "right hand" of its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, has been killed, Iran’s Fars news agency reported Tuesday.

Earlier reports said that as a result of an Iraqi Air Force raid on an Islamic State convoy in the western province of Anbar, al-Baghdadi was wounded and three of his deputies killed.
