Does it look like those Khibiny pods are a bit different than the usual ones? They look like they have a pointy tip now instead of the usual rounded ones. They must be new pods most likely with improved capabilities.
Looking at the still on the beginning of the video you can see that pointed tip is clearly different from the usual ones, and it also has a radiation warning on it. Does that mean they also have a radar/seeker or something now? I don't remember the old ones having a radiation warning.

The Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Yu. A. Gagarin handed over the next batch of new Su-35S multi-role fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces, the United Aircraft Corporation reported.

That is, two additional Su-35S. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 4 pieces, and soon half a year will pass. A very small number.

Re: Su-35S: News #2
hate that some sources don't give out the important details.
https://tass.com/defense/1785563
MOSCOW, May 8. /TASS/. The Russian Aerospace Forces received a batch of new Su-35S multirole fighters of generation 4++. They were produced by the Gagarin Aircraft Plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) said.
"The plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur has reached a rhythmical production pace this year. It is the second batch of combat aircraft delivered to the Aerospace Forces. The plant fulfils the commitments in the deliveries of new aircraft and works to create new batches of serial Su-35 and Su-57 jets," UAC CEO Yury Slyusar said.
Su-35S have passed ground and flight trials and flew from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to the deployment airfield.
Su-35S (Flanker-E+ by NATO classification) is a deeply upgraded super maneuverable multirole fighter jet of generation 4++ designed with fifth-generation technologies. It is distinguished by a new digital avionic complex, a new radar with passive phased antenna array and increased number of simultaneously tracked and attacked targets, plasma-ignition engines of increased capacity and controllable vectoring. The engines correspond to fifth-generation power plants as they develop supersonic speed without a boost. Su-35S is a deep upgrade of Su-27. It has a reinforced glider and no frontal horizontal fins and brake flap. Braking at landing is done by turning rudders to different sides.

Don't you get tired of acting like an idiot?
There is a reason why they blur out the identification number of each aircraft, and it is because information regarding the number of deliveries has been classified data since the beginning of the war, we do not know how many aircraft they received.

Su-35s contract of 30 aircrafts is near completion + contrary to Su-34 the losses of Su-35s in SMO arent many

The factory typically delivers aircraft in batches of 3 or 4. They tripled working hours. But sure believe whatever you want.Arrow wrote:That is, two additional Su-35S. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 4 pieces, and soon half a year will pass. A very small number.

Sounds like the upgraded Su-35 supercruises before the F-35 can...
Looking forward to the US complaining about Iranian Su-35s, but it will take decades to make Su-35s for Iran wont it?

Re: Su-35S: News #2
The real irony is that if they were putting out 100 Su-35s a year they would claim Kievs claims of knocking them down like flies must be true if they need to produce them at that rate.
You can see why Russia and China have stopped listening to western complaints because they complain about everything and anything and are never satisfied.

Russia finds itself embroiled in a war against the collective West thru their captive vassal Banderite Ukraine, and people somehow seem to think that Russia will allow their enemies to evaluate the size of the newly announced batch of Su-35s by counting airframes shown on the media?

And those Khibiny pods definitely look like a new, improved version with the pointy tip and almost seem larger than the previous ones.

Often times russian aircraft receive upgrades without changing designation or mentionning name, for example the imported three arm piezo electric films in the Su-35's OLS-35 got replaced by local four arm ones.

I figured that was the case.
What do you fellas suppose that half-circle mark is? A marker to gauge the extent of the stabilizer's motion for testing?

Could be, or could just be a point of contact where it is rubbing or minor contact due to paint layer or grease leaving marks where it moves...
That is a moving part and as the aircraft manouvers the airframe will bend and stretch so turning and bending and moving the control surface can lead to contact...

Its a faint permanent marking - and yes it shows the extend of the stabilizers motion.
Any contact with the airframe could be catastrophic as was the case with early Mig-25's. Early on the Mig-25 suffered a couple of nasty accidents when the aircraft suddenly rolled and turned into a steep dive. It was eventually discovered that the stabilizers jammed and the problem was rectified!
