The first stone of the future depot for trams was laid in Verkhnyaya PyshmaRussian_Patriot_ wrote:An industrial-style depot with a car wash and a recreation room will be built for trams in Verkhnyaya Pyshma.
The capital's investment company Movista Regions has approved a project plan for a depot for trams that will run on a new route between the cities of Yekaterinburg and Verkhnyaya Pyshma.
The building of the complex will consist of four floors, which will house technical and administrative premises. The production building will include, among other things, areas of daily and routine maintenance, repair of rolling stock, a car wash, a charging room for electric cars, a medical center and a rest room. The area of the built-up plot will be 2.25 hectares, and the building area of the production building will be 2438.6 sq. m.
The complex will not only be equipped with everything necessary for the operation of trams, but also create a modern look for the building: the depot will be built in an industrial style.
"The building is designed from modern materials and structures, using new technologies" – explains Alexander Sovetnikov, General Director of Movista Regions. – "The space and layout will be organized in such a way as to achieve maximum functionality and comfort for the depot employees when working anywhere in the building."

Re: Public transport in Russian cities
The head of Comtrans told how the St. Petersburg trams will change in a couple of years.
Petersburgers are waiting for changes in the appearance of urban transport. In a couple of years, modern trams will appear in the city, and later there will be an update of tram tracks. Kirill Polyakov, the head of the Transport Committee, told about the grandiose plans for transport reform on the air of Business FM radio. Most recently, Komtrans celebrated its 30th anniversary and now shares the ideas it has developed, simultaneously revealing the details of their implementation.
Comtrans plans a large-scale improvement of public transport. According to Polyakov, they are going to pay attention not only to the models of trams, buses and trolleybuses themselves, but also to their maintenance, transport accessibility in different parts of the city, and the issue of reducing the time spent at stops by citizens.
Big changes are waiting for the tram fleet of the city — by 2024, St. Petersburg will receive 255 new trams, but the modernization will not stop there, Polyakov said.
"In the same perspective, 314 new trolleybuses will appear in the city, including 117 with increased autonomous running. At the same time, the depot and infrastructure of two tram parks out of ten will be reconstructed. In the future, until 2028, it is planned to reconstruct tram tracks and power facilities on the entire route network and completely update the rolling stock" – the head of Comtrans shared.
In the future, dedicated lanes will be made for trams in the city. There are several ways to implement this idea, which Polyakov told about.
"This may be road markings, the installation of delineators-rubber posts, curbstones, the construction of so-called "Vienna" stops, and so on. The most effective method is the installation of delinators on both sides of the tram tracks" – the official said.
According to him, the choice of the band allocation method will occur at each specific address. In addition, there will be installed complexes for fixing traffic violations.
Now there are a lot of public transport in the city, which has expired the wear and tear period. According to Polyakov, on average it is from 15 to 30 years for a tram, from 15 to 20 years for a trolleybus. In the first group of models that need to retire, 59.4% of the total rolling stock fleet, in the second — 42.7%. However, replacing the old ones with new ones is not cheap.
"The cost of a modern three-section tram is 100-120 million rubles, depending on the model. Two-section — about 90 million rubles. The cost of a modern trolleybus is about 20 million rubles-also depending on the model" – Polyakov said.

Re: Public transport in Russian cities
GAZ has patented a middle-class electric bus.
GAZ Group has issued a patent for an industrial design of a low-floor electric bus of the middle class — this is a fundamentally new type of machine for the company, until now it has made LiAZ-6274 electric buses only of the large class.
Judging by the images enclosed in the security document, the novelty will be made in the body of the CityMAX-9 model, which in the diesel version, with a 4.4-liter YaMZ-534 engine, debuted in early September at the Comtrans-2021 exhibition in Moscow.
The electric version will be named e-CityMAX-9, it will be presented in 2022. The car was created specifically for the poor regions of Russia, who cannot afford LiAZ-6274 large electric buses. e-CityMAX-9 can replace trolleybuses in cities, the networks for the operation of which are financed, as a rule, on a residual basis.
