The third frigate of project 22350 "Admiral Golovko" is planned to be handed over to the Russian Navy in the second quarter of 2023. This was announced on Thursday, March 2, by TASS at Severnaya Verf, which built the ship.
The third Project 22350 frigate, Admiral Golovko, was laid down at Severnaya Verf in February 2012 and launched in May 2020. In February 2022, it became known about the start of training for the Admiral Golovko crew at the Joint Training Center of the Navy in St. Petersburg. Factory sea trials (ZHI) started at the end of November.
The second stage of the ZHI began at the end of 2022.
At the end of January 2023, a TASS source close to the military-industrial complex claimed that the ship would be handed over to the fleet in March.
"Admiral Golovko" became the first project 22350 ship equipped with a gas turbine unit (GTU) of Russian design. The frigates "Admiral Gorshkov" and "Admiral Kasatonov", which were put into operation earlier, use gas turbines manufactured by the Ukrainian enterprise Zorya-Mashproekt as afterburner engines.

The frigate "Admiral Gorshkov" crossed the equator for the second time during the campaign
During the long voyage, the ship passed three oceans, five seas and two strait zones, the press service of the Northern Fleet reported.
MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. The frigate of the Northern Fleet (SF) "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov" crossed the equator for the second time during a long voyage, the press service of the fleet reported on Friday.
"Today, the frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov crossed the equator in the Indian Ocean, moving in a northerly direction," the message says. According to the Northern Fleet, the first crossing of the equator took place in February.
As noted in the press service, during the long voyage, the ship passed three oceans, five seas and two strait zones. "Since leaving the main base of the Northern Fleet - the city of Severomorsk, Russian sailors have traveled more than 16,100 nautical miles," the message says.
Equipped with Zircon hypersonic missiles, the frigate set off on a campaign on January 4, the ship’s entry into combat service was commanded by Russian President Vladimir Putin. In January, the Admiral Gorshkov conducted air defense exercises in the Norwegian Sea, and in February, it took part in the joint naval exercises of South Africa, the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China, codenamed Mozi.
"Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov" - the lead multi-purpose frigate of project 22350 for the far sea and ocean zone, built at the Severnaya Verf plant (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation). He joined the Russian Navy in July 2018. In December 2022, he made an inter-fleet transition and arrived at the main base of the Northern Fleet - the city of Severomorsk - after scheduled maintenance at the Kronstadt Marine Plant.

At the end of this video link, Mikhail Borovsky speaks and says the following "today we held a meeting and talked about a series of frigates that are necessary for the Pacific Fleet, for which we received support and I expect that the next keel will be laid for our frigate".
This is a video that initially primarily talks about laying the keel for the Project 20385 Retiviy corvette.

Probably talking about the redesigned Project 22350 which is small enough that it can be built at Amur. Current design does not fit their facilities.

Well, project 22350 frigates are not project 1144 cruisers..
And don't forget that 971 submarines were built in the Amur Shipyard, the displacement of which is greater than that of the 22350 frigates.
From the official website;
* slipway complex, consisting of closed heated boathouses, including 9 dry construction docks, allowing to assemble the hulls of ships up to 200m long and up to 19m wide. The docks are equipped with crane equipment with a lifting capacity of up to 100 tf and are equipped with scaffolding and all types of energy supply, including the possibility of creating a microclimate.
* in 2006, an open slipway was designed and put into operation, which makes it possible to form hulls of ships up to 23 m wide.
main and auxiliary workshops, administrative buildings and warehouses, a total of 288 buildings and structures.

Waiting for the frigate "Admiral Isakov"...
This picture is from 7 months ago..
Between July and September 2021, a set of M55R diesel-gas turbine units was installed on the ship. Therefore, we are probably waiting for the results of the testing of the same power unit on the "Admiral Golovko" frigate, and after that we can expect the "Isakov" frigate to be launched.
I hope it could be this year...

The frigate "Admiral Golovko" is preparing to hand over to the fleet
The transfer of the newest frigate "Admiral Golovko" project 22350 to the Russian Navy is scheduled in the near future, after the completion of the tests. This was announced to TASS on Thursday, June 15, by the General Director of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Alexei Rakhmanov during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
“They should be ready to hand it over to the fleet in the next few days,” he said in response to a question when the tests of the frigate would be completed.

Nice, and taken as final confirmation that the all-Russian MGT engine and CODAG drivetrain has passed its tests. Eat sh!t Zorya Mashproekt. I guess that Russia is now free to totally level their factories and design shops

The moment "Admiral Isakov" goes on sea trials, then we will know with 100% certainty that the issue of gas turbines has been resolved.

It will take a long cruise to properly prove the propulsion. Remember what happened to the United Kingdom's Type 45 class destroyer which has engines which fail to work properly in warm tropical waters. Or US Freedom class LCS which has a reduction gear which breaks down if working at high speed.

Finally some good news: https://tass.ru/armiya-i-opk/18542445
Golovko will complete state trials in the coming weeks, according to Orlov (SV head) himself. He expects the ship to be handed over to the navy in the next 1-2 months. I'm assuming he'll be more on the money than the idiots according to whom this was already supposed to have happened.
Isakov will be launched only early next year, though.
Edit: I also had a look at the source a few posts higher from June where Rakhmanov allegedly says "They should be ready to hand it over to the fleet in the next few days"...the way the article puts it makes it very likely that it was something said in passing and the phrasing used "на днях" is actually an idiom meaning "soon", not necessarily literally in a few days. So probably a poor machine translation.
