As I say, build a pipeline to kaliningrad and call it a day. Eventually the Germans will be begging for gas and sell it below market but still massive amounts above normal.

Or just bomb the one that goes through Kiev and put them in front of the fait accompli. Either buy through NS2 or no gas.

Well its looking like Russia has added to the economic crisis for the West, a diplomatic crisis. And the Ukraine is just an instrument here, in reality the stakes are far wider.

I'm not KPRF, you're stuck in your own echo chamber. And I don't much care how Russia is perceived in the West. I care about how its perceived by its neighbours and the rest of the world.

I'm cautiously optimistic that all this irredentist rhetoric towards the Ukraine will not actually be realized, and that the objective of everything is just to force the West to weaken its position in the UN and international diplomacy by bargaining away many of its cards over lesser countries in return for their support. While China will play good cop and eventually step in as an honest broker.

If it is attempted to be realized of course then it would be a catastrophe.

The Saudis already tried to crush Russia with the oil price. The Saudis failed and blinked first.
Now the US is talking to Qatar to give LNG they would have delivered to Japan to Europe. This should work swell... most of the Japanese nuclear reactors are still offline because of Fukushima.

With mentioning this western weapons he laid the same trap as with the remarks about the indivisibility of security. Western reaction: every country can choose his own alliance. The truth: see the reaction of the baltic minions to the russian troops in Belarus. So if western weapons on the russian border are just a defensive and "peaceful" deterrence, Russia can base her own weapons anywhere.

Federation Assembly just passed the military assistance bill.

I've just seen now on Sputnik or RT (can't remember) telegram channel the Russian Government clarified their recognition of the LDPR is on the borders they (LDPR) declared independence in 2014.

This whole recognition move is quite interesting because now RF can provide as many guns as they want to LDPR while at the same time completely secure those territories as peacemakers, but since no one have recognized them this is still is a civil war for every other part. What means, provided the RF soldiers stay inside the recognized territories, LDPR can take over anything they want in Ukraine without the west (or whatever) being able to claim this is an external aggression.

In this sense, the fact that (apparently) more then 50% of the Ukraine army is located around the contact line just make the things more interesting, because once the LDPR army pass them there will have little resistance later.
