Russian losses probably up to 600 by now. But no other way to fight w/o truly wrecking everything. Wondering why the combat helos are not active.

Can you explain what is going on? I only saw some smoke. Russian CAS needed in an area where the atomic plant is? Who owns those vehicles in the middle of the street?

There is a road coming towards the camera on which regime forces moved in and engaged the Russian forces in the administrative building
on the right which is out of view until the camera pans to it. This building is now burning.

I see no Russian air strikes on this regime column on the road. It is an open target which is not risking hitting the power plants.

You can tell from the vehicles that they are regime forces. Including the Varta and the colour scheme on the BMPs.

Tbh I didn't look closely I assumed Russians are on offensive there still.

So Ukrainian BTR's are on the same road for at least 4 hours as per both lifestreams. There are still people running about and plinking at buildings where smoke is coming out.

One Mi-28 would be enough to deal with this surgically from far far away. Not even a chance to get targeted by Manpads, because you need visual observation and UV difference (clear blue sky) for Manpads to work effectively. It's been 4 hours, I've fast-forwarded the steam and can't even understand if they are getting shot at, maybe there are no Russian forces in the vicinity and they are just shooting at infrastructure?

I wonder if Russian PMCs are working with Separatist forces, I don't believe claims that they were sent to kill Zelensky, he's not a target.

In the end, I doubt if their presence changes anything in the bigger picture

At this point the Russian army needs to get their Helos back, putting them under the Airforce was clearly a mistake.

Actually a good tactic , I noticed from Russian Army . They do not fully surround a city or " Caulderon " ; They only semi - encircle , allowing escape route , while retaining a  double pincer around the target . The first pincer is to hold and squeeze and the outer pincer is to intercept in the open , any escaping troops . I think they tried this in all cities , including Kiev and karkov and Mariupol and Donbas front . Also a reason the Rats won't leave Mariupol or Kiev , and are hiding among civilians , because they know by now . I think the reinforcements North of Kiev are not stuck , because of technical problems for three days , that makes no sense . But that they are waiting for the postule to empty into the open countryside , where they can be eliminated . Also why in the meetings with the Rats , attempt was made for " corridors " for civilians , that the Rats disagree with . Because now the troops aim to storm the city and are tired of waiting . Good to see MOD , giving accurate info about " Javelin " causing damages to Tank and causing injury to Russian crew . Information important to build up spirit and forces at some point to strike back . Rush the city now ? Wait until no more civilians leaving city ? Morale among troops takes precedence .

All the morons on social media are spewing that it is Russia attacking the power plant.

Russian forces seized the plant several days ago.   But they let the regime's roving bands get close enough to attack it.
Somebody screwed up badly.

It is possible the earlier story of the take over is a fake, but it does not make sense since it is an important target
for control and would have been secured like Chernobyl.

Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) has already claimed that there are volunteers from Canada coming to help Ukraine.

Supposedly not all of them are Ukrainians living in Canada, some Anglo-Canadians without any links to Ukraine also want to help out the Ukrainian side.

Ok, good luck getting medical treatment if they become injured and disabled in this war. No one will pay their family out if they will die too. I understand Ukrainians leaving Canada to fight, but those Don Quixotes can end up in hell they never imagined possible.

Some sources are claiming it's Russian troops. But doesn't matter, who hides in the power station and who in their right mind shoots at it. Maybe aviation doesn't want to get involved because of this? This whole ordeal is mindboggling to say at least. I can't see shit as my eyesight is bad and it's too dark.

Those Canadian volunteers are about to receive a hard lesson in Russian warfare.

Being killed is nothing - losing eyesight, limbs, getting insane PTSD. Very possible and even more so than dying. To be injured in war is 3x more likely than be killed if one to believe statistics. Now the question is - who will help you next?

Why would Russian forces use Ukr equipment. I watched the vehicles, they are all Ukr.

I can see a small force of Russians sent to secure the plant being overwhelmed by the number of Ukrs shown in the livestream.

Anyway, apparently the fire department was allowed to put out the fire.

The third block of the power plant is now offline. So the motivation here is to take out the electricity and to blame it on the
Russians.
