Me wonders, why there is not more RuAF involved? wouldn't be easier to destroy more targets daily?

This was explained couple of posts before. In short to meet UA in open field and finish Donbass grouping. With less and less ammo and fuel depots it might be interesting.

They’re running ~300 sorties a day. I’m surprised they arent running substantially more, frankly.

Also rate of drone usage still seems low, even if it has picked up in recent weeks.

Sorry, most of the people just moved on from this. It's old news already.

No one died, fuel burned, firefighters had a hard time but that's about it. What is destroyed can be rebuilt.

Russian AWACS planes will be flying more in the future, not much else to do.

I would be more concerned about current Russian moves, they will decide how long this war will last.

Several unknown projectiles landed and exploded in Russia’s southern region of Belgorod on Friday, damaging a power line and a residential house. The blasts were heard in the region’s capital city of Belgorod, local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov has said.

“We’re dealing with the consequences [of the explosions]. The most important thing is that no one was hurt. I went to the site – near the villages of Nikolskoye and Yasnye Zori. Examined the sites of the explosions,” Gladkov said in a Telegram post, sharing pictures of a large crater and debris on the site.

I know exactly what this means! This tactic means the creation of Novorossija as the ultimative goal. A feint in the north, regrouping of troops back south in Ukraine. Novorossija will come for sure, this is the priority of Russian Army in Ukraine at moment.

The only problem I see...no regime change! No denazification! The rest of Ukraine will remain as the most anti-russian state in the world, will join NATO and will be armed to teeth. The historical russian land of Kiev for example is lost...the pearl of medieval Rus.

And the signal as a military superpower to the rest of the world is...Russia is weak and not able to seize the capital of a nearly 3. world state. The whole western flank around Kiev perished in just one or two days...I'm not talking about virtual victories a la Irpin I'm talking about Bucha, Ivankiv, Gostomel etc. Ukraine took back nearly all villages and towns.

I'm not trolling...I understand fully the tactic (Creating of Novorossija and Kiev is not part of it!) but from my point it's not the smartest move because the areas were in russian hands...why let something go what you have?! Best solution would be complete surrender of Ukraine...creating of Novorossija and Ukraine as client state in Union with RF.

At this point I think it’s pretty obvious that objectives have now been seriously limited (to just donbass and some other areas) because to secure more maximalist objectives (most or all of Ukraine) would require mobilisation and they don’t seem to have the stones to do that.

Many things are not going as expected...that's life! Especially in a war NOTHING goes as expected! The Belgorod problem was nothing really important...to be true I expected more attacks from Ukraine against Russia in this conflict.

Arkhangelsk should calm down, but he’s also right that the campaign has shown a great degree of incompetence

It's more than just Donbass...it's Novorossija because they change government and introducing Ruble in Kherson. Odessa and Kharkiv will follow soon. I bet my ass Russia will not leave Kherson and other regions however the peace deal will look like. If Russia leaves i owe everyone of you a beer!
