Looks like Russia has upped its game a bit. They are having a pretty big cry about the attacks overnight. Its good to see the all the Ukraine NPC's cut down to size with this. They really believed that Crimea attack amounted to something.

To me the design of TOS looks very Orwellian. So sinister. Its IMHO the most terrifying tactical ground based weapon in the conflict. Just pulverizing weight of fire.

Kharkov is a big city, about 1.4mill people. Not easy to manage that sort of a conflict in a built up area, much bigger then Mariupol.

Might have to surround and cut off supplies rather than push in. Won't be pretty.

Summary of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on the progress of a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine ️ (18.08.2022)

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue a special military operation in Ukraine.

The enemy suffers significant losses . As a result of the use of operational and tactical aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the area of Avdiivka, the 37th battalion of the 56th Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine completely lost its combat capability. Personnel losses exceeded 60 percent. The command of the operational-tactical group "Donetsk" withdrew the remnants of the battalion to the rear for re-formation.

Over 80 nationalists were killed and more than 50 wounded in the areas of Belaya Krynitsa and Velikoe Artakovo, where the 18th battalion of the 35th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was attacked with high-precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

High-precision ground-based weapons hit a temporary base of foreign mercenaries in the city of Kharkiv. More than 90 militants were killed .

In the area of Posad-Pokrovskoye, Mykolaiv region, a Russian Air Force strike on the temporary location of the 1st battalion of the 28th mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed about 60 nationalists and 8 units of special vehicles.

As a result of concentrated artillery strikes by Russian troops on the combat positions of the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the village of Mazanivka in the Donetsk People's Republic, more than 250 nationalists were eliminated .

Strikes by operational-tactical and army aircraft, rocket troops and artillery against military facilities on the territory of Ukraine continue.

During the day, five command posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were hit , including the 72nd mechanized brigade near Artemivsk, the 46th airmobile brigade near the settlement of Belaya Krynitsa in the Kherson region, as well as personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 234 districts.

Three warehouses of rocket and artillery weapons and ammunition were destroyed near the settlements of Zvanovka, Vasyukovka of the Donetsk People's Republic and Bereznegovatoe of the Mykolaiv region.

Russian air defense systems destroyed ten Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Yegorovka, Staromlynovka, Novogrodovka of the Donetsk People's Republic, Yakovenkovo, Lesnaya Stanka, Zeleny Gai, Kochubeyevka of the Kharkiv region, Bezymennoye, Charivnoye and Bruskinskoye of the Kherson region.

In addition, three multiple rocket launcher shells were shot down in the air near the settlements of Topolskoye and Suligovka, Kharkiv region.

In total , 267 aircraft, 148 helicopters, 1,757 unmanned aerial vehicles, 366 anti-aircraft missile systems, 4,340 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 800 multiple launch rocket systems, 3,312 field artillery and mortar guns, and 4,938 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation.
