I know there are those here who still think (or wish) that Russia has run out of cruise missiles. And this text denies that, because Russia launched a 3M-14 Kalibr cruise missile a few days ago in an exercise. It is obvious that these missiles are also available for practice shooting. MOSCOW, August 25 - RIA Novosti. Vladimir Putin signed a decree to increase the staffing of the Russian Armed Forces by 137,000 servicemen.

The relevant document is posted on the portal of legal information.
"To establish the staff strength of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the amount of 2,039,758 units, including 1,150,628 military personnel," the new decree says.
In accordance with the previous decree of November 17, 2017, Russian troops numbered 1,902,758 soldiers and officers, including 1,013,628 military personnel.

A fitting joke I heard from a Ukraine born analyst on one of the Russian shows covering the war.   It is fitting because the whole
Ukr identity is framed as anti-Russian.   It is not pro-Ukrainian but some sort of absurd construct that steals Russian history
and involves hate for Russia.   Most other nations do not frame their identity this way.   The British don't define themselves as
anti-French or anti-German.   They are British (well, English, Scots, Welsh and Irish) and the existence of France or Germany does
not figure in this.   Ukria steals Russian history by claiming that Kievan Rus was "Ukraine".    There is no reference to "Ukraine" in any
historical document (e.g. beresty).   There was no Ukria until after the Polish-Lithuanian occupation of the lands spanning the western

map of Ukria indicates that its from 30 to 50%.   But it is not a binary state and there is an identity grey zone.  

 

What you refer to is identity by negation. The most famous example of which of course is Jewish identity. Just read the Tanakh (Old Testament) where God punishes the Jews for associating with any other race or marrying outside Jewish bloodlines and encourages the genocide of the inhabitants of Canaan for the "Chosen People".

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation in Ukraine.

High-precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Forces have hit 5 combat aircraft of Ukrainian Air Force at Mirgorod military airfield in Poltava Region.

1 Su-27 and 1 Su-24 have been destroyed. Another 2 Su-27s and 1 Su-24 suffered critical damage. The enemy's casualties in manpower were up to 30 Nationalists.

In Dnepropetrovsk Region, high-precision strike on Dnepr military airfield has destroyed three aircraft of Ukrainian Air Force.

High-precision strike of the Russian Aerospace Forces near Novyi Bug, Nikolaev Region, has destroyed command post of Kakhovka grouping of Ukrainian troops. The attacks have resulted in the destraction of up to 64 nationalists and 7 units of military equipment.

Iskander missile have hit a military train at Chaplino railway station in Dnepropetrovsk Region, destroying over 200 AFU servicemen reserve and 10 units of military equipment on their way to Donbass war zone.

High-precision strikes continue against Ukrainian military-industrial complex facilities that repair weapons and military equipment for Ukrainian troops.

High-precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Force have destroyed the workshops of armoured weapons and multiple rocket launchers repair facility in Shepetovka, Khmel'nitskyi Region.

In Zaporozhye, the production buildings of Iskra plant, where air defence and counter-battery radar stations are being repaired, have been hit. The production buildings of MigRemont aircraft repair plant, which was used to restore aircraft of Ukrainian Air Force, have been also destroyed.

Operational-tactical and army aviation, missile troops and artillery strikes continue against military facilities in Ukraine.

7 AFU command posts have been hit near Velikomikhailovka in Dnepropetrovsk Region, Nikolaev city, Artemovsk, Pereezhnoye, Kaleniki, Soledar in Donetsk People's Republic and Poltava in Zaporozhye Region, as well as 149 areas of Ukrainian manpower and military equipment concentration.

4 ammunition depots near Gulyaipole in Zaporozhye Region, Krasnaya Gora in Donetsk People's Republic, Zmiyev in Kharkov Region, Zhovtnevoye in Nikolaev Region and a fuel storage facility for military equipment near Golitsynovo in Nikolaev Region have been destroyed.

In the course of counter-battery warfare, 2 platoons of Grad multiple-launch rocket systems near Artemovskoye and Sukhaya Balka and 3 platoons of D-30 howitzers at firing positions in Novgorodskoye, Veseloe and Evgenovka Donetsk People's Republic have been suppressed.

Russian air defence means have shot down 5 unmanned aerial vehicles near Kamenka in Kharkov Region, Urozhainoye, Vasilevka, Zelenyi Gai in Donetsk People's Republic and Kamysh Zarya in Zaporozhye Region.

In addition, 19 shells of HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system have been intercepted near Kakhovskaya HPP, Kherson and Donetsk cities.

In total, 273 Ukrainian airplanes and 148 helicopters, 1,808 unmanned aerial vehicles, 369 anti-aircraft missile systems, 4,384 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 819 multiple launch rocket systems, 3,340 field artillery and mortars, as well as 5,048 units of special military vehicles were destroyed during the operation.

In other news

Ukrainian troops continue shelling the Zaporozhye NPP and Energodar city.

During the day, Ukrainian artillery have launched 7 large-calibre artillery strikes against NPP area.

The shelling was carried out from Ukrainian troops' firing positions near Nikopol', Marganets, Vyshetarasovka and Chervonogrigorovka, located on the opposite bank of Kakhovka reservoir.

Russian Armed Forces artillery return fire have suppressed enemy firepower.

New UK drone destined for Ukraine

There was an interesting news snippet at the end of July missed by a lot of people regards the Uk supplying the Ukraine with a resupply UAV designed for the British Army (i’ll be honest, never knew we were funding such a project)


U.K. company Animal Dynamics is working on exactly this challenge, developing an autonomous aircraft able to take on one of the most challenging tasks without human assistance.

“The aim is to take people out of harm’s way in resupply missions,” Paul Topping of Animal Dynamics told Forbes.

Known as the Stork STM, the drone emerged from a British Army initiative to automate last mile resupply. Stork has a parafoil wing, a type already used the US Army’s Joint Precision Airdrop System cargo parachutes – with the difference that Stork is powered and is designed to be launched from the ground to make a delivery and return so to can be reused many times.
Stork’s design was driven by discussions with military customers about requirements for load and ranges. Stork can deliver a 200 pounds/ 135 kilos load over a distance of 200km. This enables it to carry the vast majority of standard military items, and from long enough range to keep it well out of the way of enemy fire – this range would have been ideal for the situation in Mariupol. The usual delivery method would be low-level, low-speed parachute drop.

“It can drop a number of items in different locations or everything at once,” says Topping, noting that it can do . “It can be gliding silently to and from the drop site.”

Usually a pilot flies a drone remotely, but operating over such distances would require elaborate and expensive satellite communication. Instead Animal Dynamics have equipped Stork with a high degree of autonomy so it can find its own way to the drop zone and deliver its cargo. Cameras and radar plus onboard intelligence allow it to avoid obstacles on the ground and in the air.

Each NASAMS 2 firing unit can be up to 20km away from the battery meaning the maximum area a complete NASAMS system with 12 launchers can cover is a circle : with a radius of ~50km

A German IRIS-T air defense system has a launcher with 8 missiles that can cover a radius of 25km

The thing about Active Radar Homing tho.. is flexibility. Since the missile have its own seeker it is actually possible for NASAMS to not rely on it's "organic" AN/MPQ-64 radar but instead it can rely on some other intelligence asset.
It can "ambush" Russian aircrafts from unexpected direction like Manpads. There will be no warning until the Missile is launched.


Such capability tho doesnt seem to exist in our NASAMS. Well i know the person who was in charge of NASAMS deal for Indonesian airforce, she said the capability i just mentioned doesnt exist in our configuration.
But i feel that to not make use of such is not something Ukrainians and maybe NATO would do.

The West is getting worse at pushing through the anti-Russian agenda at the UN

So, in March, the West managed to "put the squeeze on" 141 UN countries to sign a resolution demanding that Russia stop the special operation in Ukraine. Already in April, only 93 countries agreed to approve a resolution suspending Russia's participation in the UN HRC. In August, 54 countries signed a document expressing regret that Russia did not stop the special operation. Believe there are 193 or so UN members.
