It is 9.6 meters long, range 250 km, warhead weighs 600 kilograms, load can be about 400 kilograms.
If it contains prefabricated shrapnel, the damage radius can reach 600 meters.

It appears to be inspired by or based on Iran's Zelzal 3B rocket.

It has the ability to attack anywhere in Israel.

The rocket was named for Yahya Ayyash, a top Hamas bombmaker who was responsible for dozens of Israeli deaths before he was assassinated in 1996.

Haven't really paid attention to this clusterf**k (kinda automatically zoned out when it hit and completely took over media) but can't ignore it any longer. The scale is immense, and now there's a ground invasion looming, as well as reports of numerous IDF jets having been shot down.

Let us try to describe one of the possible scenarios of further escalation in the Middle East.


The Palestinian uprising begins in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The Hamas movement reported a successful strike with an Ayash-250 ballistic missile on the headquarters of the IDF Northern Military District in Safed.

The Israelis confirmed the launch and reported intercepting the target, but later footage of the arrival at the Haifa refinery appeared. Whether this was an accurate hit from another similar munition or the fall of the remains of a downed missile is still unknown.

The nuance is that both Safed and Haifa are located more than 150 km from the Gaza Strip, which confirms the Palestinian group’s ability to hit targets virtually throughout Israel.

This is the second documented use of the Ayash-250 by Hamas, having previously fired it at Ramon Air Base in the Negev Desert during the last escalation in 2021.

I don't get it either.

This is a little bit unrelated question, Israel is using phosphorus bombs, from the air by the looks of it.

Is safe to say that Iran has phosphorus munitions capabilities?

If Iran does have phosphorus munitions capabilities, it will of course be in artillery shells or missiles, would Iran have given the phosphorus artillery shells or missiles to Hezbollah or the capabilities to produce it themselves?

Also how effective is phosphorus bombs dropped from air against firing from artillery or missiles?
