Get your facts straight! U.S. Congress never ratified the Budapest Treaty only the US president signed it, which means the U.S. made it null-and-void which untied the hands of Uncle Sham. The Budpest Treaty would only be enforced if both the US and Russia RATIFIED the treaty, not just if the their leaders signed it.

Furthermore, the US abrogated the treaty by engineering a violent coup to overthrow the countries legally and constitutionally elected head of state, then they openly encouraged the coup regime to use military force to crush the dissenters to the putsch. US unilateral regime-change games forced Russia to respond, and now they are bleating about being outplayed...

Americans are such hypocritical cunts... How the fuck do these pricks look at themselves in the mirror without puking from the shame?  No

Ukraine should be happy that Russians are not the evil people west tries to make everyone believe. They took Crimea with not a single gun fire shot.. If it was US protecting its base the country would still be bombed right now...and probably for the next 5 years.

Both Georgia and the Ukraine and probably Belarus and all the Baltic states would have been bombed and had their leaders replaced with pro-Russian puppets by now if Russia was anything like the US...

Long-range borders at distances of up to four hundred kilometers will be covered by the system of the newest vertical-launch anti-aircraft missile system "Poliment-Redut".

So Redut reaches 400km... so it clearly must be able to take the large S-400 missiles...

Sources: a single day of laying the ships planned for July 16

The so-called unified bookmarking day for ships and submarines for the Russian Navy will take place on July 16, two informed industry sources told Mil.Press FlotProm. According to one of the interlocutors of the publication, there is still a slight likelihood of a postponement, however, even in this case, bookmarks are planned to be held in July

Earlier on April 28, they planned to lay down six new units for the fleet at once: two frigates of project 22350 at the Severnaya Verf shipyard in St. Petersburg, two multipurpose nuclear submarines of project 885M (code Yasen-M) at Sevmash in Severodvinsk and two universal landing craft at the Zaliv factory in Crimea. Due to the epidemic of coronavirus, the date was postponed .

Informed sources also told the publication about the names of new ships and submarines.

The seventh and eighth frigates of the second series of project 22350, which were laid at the Severnaya Verf, decided to be named in honor of the Russian admirals Ivan Yumashev and Emil Spiridonov. Both naval commanders commanded the Pacific Fleet, and Yumashev in 1947-1951 served as commander in chief and naval minister of the USSR.

One of the two universal landing ships of project 23900 is planned to be named in honor of the Hero City of Sevastopol. The name of the second has not yet been disclosed.

Two submarines of project 885M will be named in honor of Vladivostok and Voronezh

So one of Yasen subs swiped the name Vladivostok from new LHD?

Sevastopol was a battle in addition to being a city, would they use this opportunity to start naming ships after battles? Like Stalingrad, Borodonovo, Kursk, Leningrad...

It would be nice opportunity to rehabilitate name Kursk. Or was it permanently retired after the disaster?

They should name the second ship Kerch now that the name is free. And leave both of them to the Black Sea Fleet.

Kerch is one of the oldest cities in Crimea and was the sight of a series of battles between the Wehrmacht and the Red Army during WW2 for control of the city from 1941 to 1944.

The Russian Mistrals were given the green light. That’s what the fleet calls the universal landing ships (UDC) of the Surf project, which will become a replacement that was never delivered to the Russian Federation due to the sanctions of the French ships. Two of the newest UDCs of project 23900 will be laid before the end of the week, Izvestia sources in the military-industrial complex and military department said. A contract for their construction has been signed; work at the shipyard is already underway. However, the official ceremony will take place only now. The names of the ships will also be announced on it. It is planned that they will be called “Sevastopol” and “Vladivostok”, editorial sources said, not excluding the possibility that the name “Kerch” could be chosen for the second ship.

Sevastopol is a great name...Crimea is a good one too.

They put attention to the fact that the first ship will be "named in honor of the Hero City of Sevastopol". It just so happens that Kerch is also a Hero City. And both ships will be built there.

The name Voronezh is already in use for one of the Pr.949A Antei SSGNs. Suspect I can't imagine they plan to retire her, so will she be renamed (or is flotprom simply incorrect?)

With Admiral Kuznetsov due to retire in a few years and sold to China, these LHD will be Russia navy's biggest warships at about 25,000 tons displacement. They will be escorted by frigates like Admiral Gorshkov.

Indeed, Why would China even purchase the old hull at this stage they are building more modern CV's, makes no sense to buy a soviet era ship for them anymore.

The only reason the Russians even use it is that they have no other option at this time

Idiocy aside, India could be interested.

Another country that coyld be interested is Singapour. US aligned country but theorically they could be interested. They spend a lot in defence but have a really small country and their airports are suffering from this (they can be destroyed easily). A moving air base armed with 24 mig-29k or mig 35 would be a good choice.

Potential other buyers can be saudi arabia or UAE. Egypt could have it if Saudis buy it for them to support their Mistral. They also get involved in lot of wars so that could help them. Also Turkey's ambitions won't stop to Syria and Libya, a Kuznetsov would help containing them.

Russia with the money (easily 4 billion $ on the export market for the ship) could start a new Lamantin carrier.

China needs to have at least 6 carriers before 2030 to counter US navy in the Pacific. Currently they only got 2 carriers and building the third. Admiral Kuznetsov is relatively new, commissioned in the 1990s. Russia is downsizing and getting rid of carriers, Kirov class cruisers, because of high cost. China will buy Admiral Kuznetsov, refurbish it, and commissioned it by the late 2020s.

He is not wrong. China could be very well interested by the Kuznetsov, even more if they offer mig29K with it. That's the sister ship of the one they already operate and they are in need for such ships. They could modernize it for a fraction of the time they spent building new ones.

The stupid part is believing that Russia would sell it.

No, they wouldn't buy it, they are very unhappy with the other one they bought as is.

The Chinese moved away from wanting to buy foreign ships. They knew full well if they want to be a major naval power they need to be self sufficient.

MAYBE if the Russians would sell it for dirt cheap, the Chinese would be like "Ehhhh I guess" but for what the Russians would want for the thing even if they wanted to sell it, the Chinese would never pay.

There's no way China can build 6 carriers by 2030. 4 maybe. But not 6. That's why they bought their first carrier and they will be Admiral Kuznetsov and refurnish it. For now they need the numbers game to counter US in the Pacific. Remember. 6. Aircraft. Carriers. 6.
