Ukraine's air defense system is capable of countering Russian Zircon hypersonic missiles with European SAMP/T and U.S. Patriot systems,  Air Force spokesman Illya Yevlash said on national television on March 27.

He also suggested that Russia's use of Zircon missiles could indicate a shortage of other types of missiles.

Oryol Governor Andrey Klychkov has confirmed that Russian forces struck an Abrams tank near Avdeyevka

The US-made vehicle was destroyed by military personnel from a special forces brigade that is regularly assisted by the Oryol region. The governor specified that the Abrams was struck near the settlement of Berdychi.

A facility in Kharkov was hit by gliding bombs. They had never made it there before. Ukry writes that new UMPB glide bombs were used, which are equipped with an engine and can be launched from 300 mm MLRS or from aircraft. Yes. There are ground launched and air launched versions of the missile. The helicopter launched version is the same as the ground launched model and has a solid rocket booster so it can be fired in a hover and does not require the helicopter to accelerate to a set speed before it can launch the missile.

Regarding Zircon I suspect the sea launched model is cleared for service but have not heard them say the land launched model is ready for service yet, but that is also normal.

So their shortages are getting rather extreme and they are being stretched.... Good.

Sending F-16s to Ukraine is a ‘kamikaze’ mission

The F-16s being delivered to Ukraine “will not change the situation on the battlefield,” and Russia will destroy them “just as we today destroy tanks, armored vehicles and other equipment, including multiple rocket launchers,” Vladimir Putin told Russian military pilots during a working visit to Tver region Wednesday.

Veteran military aviation historian and author Nikolai Bodrikhin agrees with this assessment, saying the F-16 is an “old” plane whose characteristics, capabilities and limitations are “well known” to the Russian military.
