And what will su75 give you that su57 doesn't?

    Absolutely nothing

It's an export aircraft not developed for the VKS, the size of which is basically the same as su57

For what is this aircraft? Neither cheap, nor able to be produced in the next decade  - what is it other than another export oriented design that Russia has no need for?

A cheap 30 million dollar plane that can detect and track multiple targets at ranges of 200-300km is needed

One that can quickly shoot down cruise missiles, drones, and approaching aircraft and that can operate in multirole missions that can perform A2G as well as A2A combat missions

For that, su35 was obviously not enough, too few of them to provide coverage within the IADS and the super range of the aircraft never provided the super coverage that was advertised

As Garryb has said multiple times, double the range does not equal double the coverage

MiG35 is the perfect plane for this, and having a 2nd AESA radar in the form of Zhuk is excellent to complement N036 Byelka

Giving Tikhomirov everything is not desirable at all, because you actually want healthy competition as well as redundancy of these vital components

With sukhoi you only have the option of Byelka or Irbis

And that's good, but I'd much rather have variance and availability of different components for different missions, for that exists Phazotron, as well as Klimov and new OLS

Su57 could not fulfill the role that MiG35 would, which is essentially that of Frontline aviation - which the SMO has proven is needed in urgency

    A few questions:

    1. How will this change at the top affect the SMO? Will we see more big arrow pincer stuff in the months ahead or is it going to be more maidanburger meat grinder like we've seen the past couple years?

2.How will this affect the armata tank family? Will we see more of them on the battlefield or are certain components going to be put in somewhat modified T-90s?

    3. How will this affect morale? I ain't talking about the panic mongers, gloomers, and paid trolls on here and other social media, but for the men and women of the Russian Army?

It won't change anything as far as military activity, Gerasimov remains chief of staff of the Russian Armed forces , and they decide all things military

Ministry of Defense serves more as a bridge between the armed forces and the political leadership

They are in charge of things like procurement, mobilization, volunteering, salaries, benefits, funding , and they set the political goals of the Armed Forces as well as interact with the major defense companies

What we will probably see is more equipment and other variety of equipment being produced , due to greater accountability of the budget , and execution of procurement contracts as well as cancelation of obligations which are of no use to preserving the life of servicemen

Peskov already talked about the need for innovation of equipment , to protect the lives of Russian servicemen

That means more drones (Belousov criticized the slow pace of production months ago), APS systems or their prototypes, upgrades of protection on armored vehicles, better weapons for long range strike means, and all around more lethality and survivability of troops

Belousov is not there to reduce the budget, not at all, he has no control over that

He is there to implement the budget in the most efficient way possible, and to purchase things which actually will benefit the military

For example, ships coming under attack by drones, need specialized equipment to repel them

All planes need to be upgraded to have MAWS and DIRCM

Tanks and BMP need APS and better armor

Drones can serve as AWACS and recon assets, and UGV can also be mass produced

All these are innovations that the former MOD didn't approve due to lack of technical knowledge, or scared on the topic of managing funds

Belousov and Mishustin are the overseers of the budget, so they will make the required purchases as they know better how this all works without some red tape or mid level bureaucrats stifling innovative ideas

While RU military is fast at adapting, there's always bureaucracy which can hurt it no matter how many admirals get switched out, or how many generals are rotated

Having an efficient procurement system means that adaptation happens that much faster and at a lower cost of life

Whats the selling point for this POS aircraft? Russia is not going to be winning any contracts If the French continuously upgrade the Rafale and Turkey introduces the hurjet, Gripens getting upgraded and F-16s are still getting upgraded by default the EW systems and radars will be better than what the Mig-35 will have. They are also introducing newer air to ar missiles for these aircrafts., so not only will the Mig-35s not have a market to sell but they will be set up for failure for any conflict with a NATO country. Its like if you want to cancel a 25-35 million stealth aircraft design like the Su-75 which is stated to fly in 2026 and they got contracts and all that with schvabe making the infrared system, than why not cancel the Mig-35s to save even more money if they are more useless in a conflict with the west?

There needs to be a new platform.

Technically Su-75 was that. Russia needs a cheaper but effective jet to be able to field en mass. A reduced sized N036 is ideal as more produced and any GaAS or GaN modules done by Istok produced in greater numbers will decrease prices over long term.

But Mikoyan should have been the one to do it, not Sukhoi. Hopefully they came out with something of their own.

    Off topic, but quick answer.

My understanding is that it was clear that Algeria would be getting never used airframes build several years before but updated for the occasion to the SMT standard.
Also because otherwise they would have been Mig-29M, not SMT.
Furthermore these airframes apparently had not been used before.

    ....

    So what?

Algeria asked and paid for NEW airframes not "had not been used before" ones

MiG tried their trademark bullshit and got caught red handed (again)

    Frontline aviation?

Have you heard of war in Ukraine by any chance?

VKS hadn't had balls to even get close to the frontline because any time they do they get blown out of the sky

Only thing "aviating" near the frontline are drones, cruse missiles and glide bombs

If Su-35 can't survive in that environment shitty ass MiG-35 definitely can't

For 30 years only new thing made by MiG larger than scale models was that wooden mockup of "Skat drone"

A totally real project, trust me bro

Apparently, the Russians occupied approximately 160 km2 in the Kharkiv Oblast. However, this is still a gray area. They have not yet reached the Ukrainian fortifications, etc.

Why are you talking about cancelling su-75 ? It was developed by Sukhoi with its own money, MoD has noghing to do with it. This is mainly an export product to oppose f-35 because 4th gen fighters are less likely to be ordered by anyone and su-57 is the big fighter.

    @Rodion_Romanovic and mnztr

In short as it is off-topic:

The Mig-29SMT has a very messy history dating back to the early 2000's and a number of people served some jail time in Russia for shady dealings between Mikoyan and Aviaremsnab etc.

They were convicted for fraud after the suppliers used forged certificates and tags on old aviation equipment and sold it as new to the MiG company. Under the $14.3 million contract, Aviaremsnab was to supply MiG with new spare parts and equipment. The company received $1.7 million in advance payments for components made in 2005-2006, but received products manufactured between 1982 and 1996, with forged certificates.

Algeria spotted these old parts on their Migs and refused to make any further payments. The rest is history. Not only that - a few years later Syria discovered the same problem of old and defective parts on their Mig-29SMT's after a crash investigation.

And at the head of our state are people who remember very well that the colossal burden of the military budget was one of the reasons that buried the Soviet economy.
    BS

    high economic efficiency,
Sure, you can save money here and there in the bureaucracy,
but militaries don´t work that way. Had the Russians implemented a "high economic efficiency"
in the past decades, there would be no 10.000+ tanks in storage or a large sleeping production
    capacity.

If West Wants to Settle Ukrainian Conflict on Battlefield, Russia Ready - Lavrov, 05.13.2024.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - If Western countries want to solve the Ukrainian crisis on the battlefield, Russia is ready for this, acting Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday.

"This is their [Western countries'] right, if they want to [settle the conflict] on the battlefield, it will be on the battlefield," Lavrov said during consultations at the parliament’s upper house.

Moscow has repeatedly said that it is ready for negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, but taking into account the current reality, Lavrov added.

Speaking about the conference on Ukraine in Switzerland planned for June, with Russia was not invited, Lavrov likened the situation to "giving a schoolboy a reprimand."

"The conference... boils down to formulating an ultimatum to Russia once again," he added.

Switzerland will host the high-level conference on Ukrainian crisis at an alpine resort in Nidwalden canton outside of Lucerne from June 15-16. Switzerland said that it had invited over 160 delegations from around the world to attend the event. Russia was not included on the guest list.

In April, Russian Ambassador to Bern Sergei Garmonin told Sputnik that Russia would not participate in the Ukraine peace conference in Switzerland in June in any format.

Unfortunately history has shown that virtuosity and goodness rarely prevails or wins wars. Entire tribes and even nations have been wiped out by more predatory group of people (tribes, nations). War-like Mongols created havoc around entire Asia in the Middle Ages, and wiped out entire peaceful nations in Asia.

Very true, but if you country and your government expect you to lay down your life they need to offer a good reason to do so.

Saying Russia will impose real democracy on the Ukraine they occupy and there is a risk that the average person will find a safe prosperous environment to bring up a family and have a good life... you have to fight them because if they win all the western companies we have sold Ukrainian assets and land to will not be able to exploit their ownership and work the population to death as slaves getting returns on their investments.... it really isn't a question of good and evil.

And of course the West enslaved almost the rest of the world since 1500s.

Of course they did... but now in this age of enlightenment the rest of the world is realising this as being a crime against humanity and are getting together in groups piece by piece to overturn and reverse this hegemony... for the benefit of everyone... even western countries social fabric is breaking down because the rich are so greedy they wont share money with anyone and the richest people are getting richer and richer and everyone else is moving to poverty despite working hard.

At this moment Russia cannot afford to be soft anymore.

It is not about being hard or soft, it is about truth and justice and always has been... even when it does not suit your interests or even if it costs you...

Something the US forgot... but does not make it bad in principle... just in current US practise.

Unfortunately it has to be more like the West if it wants to win this battle.

Becoming the west risks repeating all of the wests mistakes again but with a different DJ playing the music.

Russia does not win by bullying a large group of countries that they name a direction on a compass... the US has the west... BRICS is being called the global south despite China and India really being the East. Russia wins by nurturing BRICS as a reaction to the US and the west and making sure it never becomes a corrupt **** up that the US created with its yes man bullshit and peace and democracy promises which ended up being everything but peace or democracy.

I think that Russia generally should not target civilians, but if Russian civilians are purposely targeted and killed by Ukraine then the only appropriate response for Russia is a tit for tat. And even better ten tits for one tat.

Kiev targets civilians because they are scum. The west will make an entire population starve because they don't agree with leadership of that particular country.

I would not support Russia if it was just as evil as those two power centres... and by not indulging in the same evil and criminal activity the trials after the conflict will have more meaning...

To the rest of the world but also to the victims.

Going for the Mig-35 is a step backwards and I doubt they will go that direction.

I disagree... it is more part of the step forward... just like the Su-35 was used to bolster the strength of the Air Force while the Su-57 was being perfected and improved and introduced, MiG has a light single engined stealth fighter in development and introduction of MiG-35 will allow a lot of the new technology they are developing for it to be field tested and made operational... and deployed to service quickly.

In a net centric system having an enormous number of high quality sensors and weapon systems deployed improves the quality of information gathering in a way a few recon units would not be suitable for.

It makes sense to introduce and produce MiG-35s and then MiG-LMFS to get numbers of quality aircraft into the air all able to fight and work together finding and engaging enemy forces.

They will have to develop 6th gen fighters and the Su-57 is a very solid basis to work from.

The Americans are talking about 6th gen fighters because their two 5th gen fighters have been such failures... such expensive failures...

Russian 5th gen fighters already have features the US is projecting for 6th gen...

Military support to Ukraine, Victoria Nuland concluded, will enable the US to build its military-industrial base, so that both America and Ukraine grow faster than Russia and China.

The obvious problem is that military spending drains from the economy and to grow their MIC base and production capacity they not only have to invest enormous amounts into their production capacity, they also have to secure their access to various critical commodities to allow them to increase production of ammo and weapons and explosives. All this money is going to be taken from western economies that need money spent on decaying infrastructure and innovation in other areas...

Ukraine is being overrun and wont have a growing economy if Russia can bomb any new factories built to the ground on a whim.

Wasn't it Mikoyan who sold "new" Mig-29SMT's to Algeria but then it was discovered that they were rebuilds from old air frames and then promptly send back by the Algerians?

The MiG-29SMT is an upgrade, it is not a new build design like the MiG-29M or MiG-35. The airframes they sold had not flown, they had been produced and stored.

Officially the Algerians wanted new made planes but the reality is that Sukhoi offered Su-30s for the same price as the MiG-29SMT and Algeria wanted out of the MiG contract so they could go for the Sukhoi offer.

They bought 14x MiG-29M and M2 so they can't have been that annoyed at MiG.

For patrolling the high seas and to fight pirates.

Yes, I still think it is a good ship... they are not making hundreds of them...

I couldn't agree more. A fifty-year-old design with upgraded avionics and engines which never reached significant production numbers? Meanwhile, Su-30/35 aircraft are being manufactured at full speed. Why waste resources on a defunct design?

Talk to the Americans about that... they have put the even older F-15 into production and are looking at putting the F-16 back into production too.

Having a numbers fighter with a modern radar and modern ordinance and communications is a good thing... they did it with the Su-27 to create the Su-35 and the Su-30 but the MiG-35 is a single and two seat aircraft so they only need to make one type and get both.

The Su-35 is a useful aircraft and helped the development and deployment of the Su-57, and I would expect the MiG-35 would fill the same role of numbers till the new single engined 5th gen light stealth fighter from MiG is ready.

excited for a 4th gen over 5th gen aircraft, I hope you are fucking joking this will make us Turkey tier with hurjets and not above US tier for not having a stealth design aircraft without the cool UAV route.

5th gen is hard... in the west there are only two 5th gen fighter designs and the light model that is supposed to be the cheap numbers aircraft is total shit.

The Su-57 is a better light 5th gen fighter than the F-35 is, and MiG is trying to make a real light 5th gen fighter... which is not going to be easy... but money and production experience of making MiG-35s and also their export to export customers will enable MiG to better develop a new 5th gen single engined fighter.

Local experts have waxed lyrical over the Su-75 and claimed it is a done deal and I have said repeatedly... THEY have said repeatedly that this is for export and is not a Russian AF project. When it is ready they might look at it in comparison to what MiG come up with but MiG have the contract for the new aircraft and always did.

Commonality is useful where relevant but it does not always makes things cheaper or easier and I would say that the MiG model appears to be more like a stealthy Yak-130 like aircraft which is what many members have suggested all this time for the role... but because it is MiG somehow it is not so ideal... anymore.

I hope you are not one of those stealth is a gimmick tards, you better pray those mig-35s fly on photonic radars with 200-300km air to air missiles. There is nothing funny pursuing AESA which the west will always be a step ahead of you in while not reducing your aircrafts RCS while the west pursues single engine stealth designs. Its like you are trying to give the Ukrainians a fighting chance if they ever received F-16Vs and AIM-120Ds

Stealth is fine as long as it does not turn your fighter into a 120 million dollar piece of dogshit that costs 70K per flight hour to keep operational.

There are no 5th gen light fighters Russia can put into production now or in the next 5 years so bitching about the MiG-35 is ridiculous... it is the only game in town for Russia at the moment and the new light 5th gen fighter that MiG are developing would benefit from having in service fighters that can test systems and equipment and ideas for the new design without having to make special prototypes just yet.

They need a numbers fighter to boost aircraft numbers and a MiG-35 is not stealthy but has less of a RCS than an Su-35.

The air defence network Russia has operating over Russia and Ukraine does not rely on the radar in the aircraft launching the missile so a MiG-35 can accelerate and climb and launch a long range R-37M missile at a target 250km away just the same as an Su-35 could... but it would use less fuel doing so because it is smaller and lighter and cheaper.

I doubt Kharkiv city is the target. Two pronged attack in northern Kharkiv.

Whether it is or it isn't the Orcs have to treat it like it is... because if they don't then the Russians can make it the target if they don't try to defend it properly.

Looks even better in its new shape

Well until it actually flys it is vapourware. (not saying it is bad, but it has not flown yet so cancelling the MiG-35 over a plane that will take at least 5 years to pass tests and probably 8-10 years for serial production to start is not reasonable from an air force management point of view.)

MiG-35s are in production... and would be easier to get into service in large numbers if needed.

It was completely absurd that a Russian company could make unfair businesses practices like those.

Especially since it was about export deals.

It was a criminal cynical act by Sukhoi to sabotage a rival... the sort of thing Rosoboronexport was created to prevent (and failed because Sukhoi was allowed to negotiate its own contracts).

But with Mig35, forget R37, with R77M you have a missile with range to kill other platforms at BVR range without compromising the payload of a smaller fighter like mig35

So it should be totally funded, AESA and R77M to boot

The MiG-35 is fully compatible with the R-37 AAM. It is not just for use against fighters but also for use against force multiplier aircraft like JSTARS and AWACS and tanker aircraft as well as troop transports and strike aircraft like B-1Bs and B-52s.

Hitting HATO tanker aircraft would dramatically reduce the performance of many of their fighters which really don't have very long legs when carrying ordinance.

OK there's still hope the Su-75 has not been cancelled for a more flawed project until that happens we will see.

On the strength of the information about the aircraft it will be just fine as an export aircraft. It is a true 5th gen light fighter that will be cheaper than western 4th gen fighters by a very wide margin and as cheap to operate as even older generation fighters (MiG-21). That is astounding.

And what will su75 give you that su57 doesn't?

    Absolutely nothing

It does not look particularly small but Su-57 level performance in some areas at reduced purchase price and operational costs is what it is supposed to offer.

The MiG design seems to do better in my opinion... looking smaller and lighter like a Yak-130 with stealth and internal weapon bays.

MiG35 is the perfect plane for this, and having a 2nd AESA radar in the form of Zhuk is excellent to complement N036 Byelka

Funding two different companies making AESA radars is a good thing... AESA radars are everywhere and the radar on fighter planes have especially strict weight and heat and other limitations which will make other types of AESA radar better when such features are adopted across the range.

A portable four face AESA you could set up for a unit to detect air threats around the position would be very very useful... an IIR system that complimented it would go a long way to protect ground forces from attack from all sorts of threats.

    A few questions:

Only time will tell, but it will depend on how things work I suspect because they will adapt their tactics to what is working and what is not working as usual.

2.How will this affect the armata tank family? Will we see more of them on the battlefield or are certain components going to be put in somewhat modified T-90s?

The T-14 tank components will be applied to the other vehicle families so the T-14 turret will likely be put in Kurganets and Boomerang and even Typhoon and DT-30s vehicle chassis along with the other tank related hardware.

The problem with putting such things in older vehicles is that the turrets are unmanned so putting it in the T-90 would mean getting all three crew into the vehicle hull which might require a front hull extension... a fairly extensive modification just to use the T-14 turret.

The new vehicle families already have the crews in the hull and unmanned turrets.

I would say the Armata family will be expanded... to get the T-14 into service you would need the T-16 armoured recovery vehicle in service too to recover it if it has problems and of course the T-15 BMP would be put into service too and gradually over time as new Armata based vehicles are developed they can be added to the forces.

Or they might want to create armata only forces which means waiting till all the vehicle types are developed... there are something like 26-27 different vehicle types in an armoured division so creating 27 different Armata types with new systems and equipment and then make them and you can have an armata division.

Transfer the same turrets and systems to the other vehicle family types and you can have the other forces too... obviously the Boomerang vehicles would be a priority because of their lower operating costs and better mobility on firm ground and the different vehicle types are already developed on different vehicle chassis... transferring and upgrading them to the new vehicle types wont take forever.

R-37M outranges Meteor. MiG-35 is a quarter the price of F-16 and probably 1/6th the price of the Rafale and operational costs are going to be lower too. What is not to like?

With thrust vectoring engines if there is a dog fight the MiG-35 will kick the arse of any western fighter... have a look at the MiG-29OVT... no matter what missiles and radar you have the MiG-35 can point and shoot in any direction on command and recover and fly away without going into a stall.

They are also introducing newer air to ar missiles for these aircrafts., so not only will the Mig-35s not have a market to sell but they will be set up for failure for any conflict with a NATO country.

Really? Russia has operational scramjet powered cruise missiles. Meteor is a ramjet powered air to air missile, which limits its top speed to about mach 3-4. A scramjet powered version of Kh-31 would probably fly three times faster and three times further.

When it shoots down all the wests AWACS and inflight refuelling aircraft HATO is suddenly not so powerful...

Having MiG-35s many countries can afford to buy enough so HATO wont be able to arrive and overwhelm with numbers.

    With Flankers not so much.

Its like if you want to cancel a 25-35 million stealth aircraft design like the Su-75 which is stated to fly in 2026 and they got contracts and all that with schvabe making the infrared system, than why not cancel the Mig-35s to save even more money if they are more useless in a conflict with the west?

The Su-75 is Sukhoi trying to steal a contract away from MiG again... they are ruthless.

MiG-35 is a cheap numbers aircraft that is 90% the performance of the Su-35 that you can buy more of and operate more of without bankrupting yourself.

Having a ratio of one Flanker to two MiG-35s is a GOOD thing... the extra aircraft numbers are actually more valuable because having three aircraft instead of one means you can cover more airspace at a time and be in more places at a time without tripling your costs and blowing your budget on operational costs.

The new single engined MiG is getting IIR systems too and so is the MiG-35... all the systems going into the Su-75 were intended for the Su-57 and S-70 so they wont go un developed.

Sukhoi was able to speed up development of the Su-57 by using the Su-35 as a test bed and operational testing of ideas with an operational aircraft and the money they made from Su-35 production helped fund developments and improvements and MiG is going to do the same.

Having Su-35s also meant the Russian air force had a boost in capabilities while waiting for the Su-57 to get ready.

Sometimes you have to wait for radar or engines, but having MiG-35s in service while you wait for a new light 5th gen single engined fighter means you don't have a bare arse while you are waiting.

There needs to be a new platform.

    Technically Su-75 was that.

No it wasn't. The Russian AF said they would have a look at it when it is ready but this is a Sukhoi project for an export type. They said that at the beginning and continue to say it. This is not a Russian Air Force project. MiG are running the Ru AF project and it is secret.

    [quote]
Algeria asked and paid for NEW airframes not "had not been used before" ones[/qote]

MiG-29SMT is an upgrade programme normally applied to existing aircraft. The airframes that were used were not freshly made, but they had not been used... they had not flown.

MiG tried their trademark bullshit and got caught red handed (again)

You mean Sukhoi fucked them over by offering an aircraft at a loss to steal the contract...

VKS hadn't had balls to even get close to the frontline because any time they do they get blown out of the sky

Because they don't have numbers planes that can overwhelm the defences.

Sending in one or two Su-25s or Su-35s and they will get shot down if they stay too long because they are too vulnerable to ambush.

Sending in 20 MiG-35s and you have 20 AESA radars and twenty lots of ARMs and other defensive systems all able to work together to deal with anything stupid enough to show its head.

It is like fighting in built up areas... one man going it is going to get killed because five or six different positions will see him and if he targets one the others will kill him because he can't watch and shoot against multiple enemies at once.

Having 100 snipers there anyone who fires and gives away their position is in trouble and will get hammered.

Only thing "aviating" near the frontline are drones, cruse missiles and glide bombs

If Su-35 can't survive in that environment shitty ass MiG-35 definitely can't

With AESA radar and glide bombs the MiG-35s don't have to operate any closer than the Su-35s do, but they can do it cheaper and do it in larger numbers and therefore provide more support to ground forces.

They have not yet reached the Ukrainian fortifications, etc.

FAB-3000 glide bomb says Russia is rather more ready than ever before for Ukrainian fortifications... bring it on.

Why are you talking about cancelling su-75 ? It was developed by Sukhoi with its own money, MoD has noghing to do with it. This is mainly an export product to oppose f-35 because 4th gen fighters are less likely to be ordered by anyone and su-57 is the big fighter.

And for any smaller country that wants Su-57Es then Su-75s would compliment them and allow them to have rather more 5th gen fighters than they would otherwise be able to afford... that is the whole purpose of the light fighter concept... instead of having 12 Flankers and being vulnerable you have 12 flankers and 24 checkmates, or 12 Su-57Es and 24 checkmates.

At 60 million per Su-57Es and 30 million for the Su-75s that is actually very affordable for countries who need to defend themselves and 36 fifth gen fighters will do better than 12 any day.

Algeria spotted these old parts on their Migs and refused to make any further payments. The rest is history. Not only that - a few years later Syria discovered the same problem of old and defective parts on their Mig-29SMT's after a crash investigation.

Which is nothing at all to do with the design of the aircraft.

The West basically gave green light for Ukraine to use Nato weapons for deep strikes against Russia, and at the same time we hear that nuclear capable F-16s will be delivered to Ukraine in this summer. I hope Russia can detect and destroy each of them the moment they arrive, because I have no intentions to die in a nuclear war for such a greedy rat like Zelensky.

    Yuri Report

Kharkov direction: assault on Volchansk - situation at 14.00 05/13/24...

Since the morning there has been a very well-coordinated assault on Volchansk. It feels like specialists, not recruits, have been thrown into battle, and therefore things move quite quickly.

Although after yesterday’s powerful air and artillery bombardment, when about 50 air bombs and hundreds of heavy shells were dropped on the enemy’s heads, this was to be expected.

In the morning there was a message that we had already completely cleared the meat processing plant from the APU and had moved a little further south. And by lunchtime information arrived that the cleanup had been completed and the local shoe factory had been taken under full control.

Thus, the outer contour of the defense of Volchansk has been broken throughout and now the enemy can try to cling to the high-rise buildings in the city center, where he has retreated.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for the guys.

In the Kharkov region, Russian troops continue to capitalize on their success in Volchansk. In the north of the city, a shoe factory was cleared, including the Solnechny Quarter, Orlova Street, part of Khleboroba and Lenin streets, as well as nearby forest plantations located between Volchansk and Tikhim, which have been brought under control. Battles are ongoing.

    GEROMAN -- time will tell - 👀 --
    @GeromanAT
    Russian TG channel reports:

    Encounter battles near Kharkov

Ukrainian sources report that overnight several additional brigades of the Russian ground forces, consisting of thousands of military personnel, as well as hundreds of tanks, armored vehicles and artillery units, crossed the border of the Belgorod and Kharkov regions, using numerous bridgeheads that had already been created over the past 48-72 hours. Plus - “DreamTeam” enters the field.

A counter battle is underway with the use of armored vehicles already in Volchansk. The attack on Volchansk continues from three directions: from Gatishche, Pletenevka and Tikhoy. A meat processing plant in the north of Volchansk was taken and a shoe factory was cleared: these are two main buildings on the northern tip of the city.

At the Izbitskoe - Staritsa - Bugrovatka line, Russian troops put part of the Ukrainian formations to flight: they managed to break through the defenses near Staritsa and start fighting for Burgovatka. Near Liptsy, fighting is still ongoing in the SNT "Lira-1". After occupying the settlements of Morokhovets-Oleynikovo-Zelenoye, Glubokoye and Lukyantsy were actually taken, but it was not yet possible to penetrate Liptsy with infantry.

Kyiv abandoned units of the 92nd and 57th brigades from the reserve (instead of the units of the 125th TO brigade that abandoned their positions), several Kraken battalions and GUR special forces, which tried to carry out a counterattack, but the approaching units of the Russian Armed Forces repulsed everything and continued to put pressure on Volchansk and Liptsy. New representatives of the “Kraken” and the “Brotherhood” of the GUR were captured. The fact that special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate were brought into battle may indicate an attempt by the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to stop the advance of the Russians at any cost.

Mining is going on in areas; the mines are not being masked in time. Such minefields are literally burned out by controlled fire .

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are forced to retreat towards the Travyansky reservoir, which is located less than 15 km from the outskirts of Kharkov.

Regarding the failures in the Kharkov region, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, publicly laid the blame on the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky. Also, the head of the military administration of the Kharkov region, Oleg Sinegubov, is accused of falsifying the construction of defensive structures.

The New York Times: The offensive of the Russian Armed Forces on Kharkov could completely demoralize the Ukrainians and their allies and force the Ukrainian leadership to agree to a truce with Russia.

Certainly no lack of precision munitions here. Hundreds of Orthodox JDAMs reported around Volchansk, there are loads of videos of various pinpoint strikes by Krasnopol etc, even on rather unimportant targets, which suggests something too.

Gossip has it that something else is about to happen too, and I suspect I know where, based on earlier reports of "unprecedented" UAV surveillance.

    and on Beluosov:

    high economic efficiency,
Sure, you can save money here and there in the bureaucracy,
but militaries don´t work that way. Had the Russians implemented a "high economic efficiency"
in the past decades, there would be no 10.000+ tanks in storage or a large sleeping production
    capacity.

So now your denying literal easy to prove and look up history....ok

What is this? Kornet? Krasnopol? lmur?

It flies in a trajectory not consistent with Krasnopol , unless it's direct fire?

It's traveling too slow to be Kornet

    So what gives?
