On paper they have huge stocks, but in reality,
    Not even on paper.
Shit, even the money is made of thin air.

    Zelensky approves mobilization of convicts
They handed weapons to convicts in the first weeks of the SMO to "defend Kijüf".

the Ukrainian army received about 800 tanks of Soviet and Western production, more than 3.5 thousand armored combat vehicles, about 1.5 thousand artillery pieces, about 270 MLRS, more than 250 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM), 7.7 thousand portable Air defense systems, up to 290 thousand anti-tank weapons, 130 aircraft and helicopters, over 30 thousand UAVs.
This is more than most european NATO countries combined could send into battle.

Seems it could actually be a UA team of sappers demolishing the last UA stronghold in town. There is a view that they may have brought it down with some of their soldiers still inside. Got to spin the right PR  Very Happy

So, Ukrainian losses are sustainable and Russian losses are not. Am I correct? Russians are dying in this war for sure—there's a war, after all. The reported difference in casualties varies depending on the source, ranging from 10:1 to 7:1 so far. Ukraine is running out of its human resources much faster. That's the point in forcing nazi regime to surrender.

66 Russian troops dead in 1 month.

Without fighting directly in WW3 the US is seeing veterans cobain themselves or go the way of floyd at a rate of 22 per day.

    That's just the suicides.

Then there's the 100k deaths from opiod overdoses per year that's mostly affecting white americans...

Bitches shouldn't throw stones from inside glass houses is all im saying.

Of course many Russians are dying everyday this is war, that said Russia can win but it can also very easily loose to it depends on the Russians themselves and what they do.

One cannot disagree if they have any shread of common sense that Russia has miss calculated and made bad decisions during the war and but it's their war to loose still, they have the card's.

The win or loose will be determined by how they play them

There are trains full of oil/fuel going to China on a daily basis, each of which
could fuel the whole SMO for a week.
(Propably exaggerated a little, but you get the point.)

More importantly if Russia was running out of energy to keep the SMO going they would reduce exports which would do more damage to the west than it would do to Russia... that is why they don't want the Russian refineries hit...

The west is more vulnerable than Russia is to energy supply problems.

It would be nice if most of the fanboys here take a look at the proukraine telegram and forums. Russia is paying a heavy cost in manpower. While it's not as high as Ukraine it's not sustainable

They have been wrong since 2014 when they thought no to peace talks and they can win with the power of HATO and the west to destroy weak corrupt Russia.

The nazis managed a fighting retreat at the end of WWII where they inflicted serious casualties on the advancing Soviet forces... but they had competent generals and soldiers that had experience and knew what they were doing.

The only comparison is their propaganda which is probably better now... the west is in rather more denial than the Germans were...

It didn't take till 45 for the Germans to realise they were losing on the Eastern front.

That's the real reason they don't increase support

They keep sending money because most of it never gets to Kiev... it goes straight to ammo and weapons production in the west to replace what they have sent.

Any ammo or hardware they send now is either scrounged on the open market or from warehouses of shit stored since the 60s that they wouldn't dare sending before at the risk of being called corrupt. That ship has sailed now.

I am just saying that there are many Russian dead on the battle field everyday . The receipts are there. and while Ukraine can't win, neither can Russia don't understand why y'all ladies are getting worked up.

One dead Russian is too many over this civil war but the Ukraine kept shelling Russia and murdering their own people and eventually they had to act.

The west intervenes for rather less all the time, but refuses the moniker of aggressor... they prefer bringer of peace and stability, or democracy bringer as they carpet bomb and murder indiscriminately because collateral damage is their fault for making you do this right?

    Another FrankenSAM

Probably the best use of such missiles from their perspective because their fighter aircraft would not get close enough to Russian aircraft to be able to use them.

Bazhenov is HUGE, and while it (at least partly) is a tight oil formation (ie will require some form of hydraulic fracturing to produce) it represents a strategic reserve for Russia once (a) fracking technologies have been mastered (ie let the stoopid Murkanz make the mistakes and learn from their collective failings and misfortune) and (b) Russia finally starts to run low on conventional onshore/offshore oil deposits.

I think it will be DECADES before Russia needs to seriously tap the Bazenov reserves given that there is so much exploration still needed on the East Siberian continental shelf and I expect there will be bumper discoveries still to be made there.

A bit more. I note that Russia has left the pipes on the left side of the picture intact. Might this mean that the gas underground is still there but trapped?

Remy Lind reports: The Bilche-Volitsa Gas compressor Station in the Lvov region of Ukraine was destroyed.

All main Buildings, main control room (management), SERB (operations and equipment), Administration Building, entrance (security alarm), gas pump unit (very significant damage) were destroyed. Worn gas pipes remain available. The second largest gas storage facility in Europe – that’s all.

    A pretty sober analysis

Summary for the Morning of May 19, 2024; published at 08:15

The past week was marked by Shoigu's departure for a new position and Belousov's appointment as the new defense minister. On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, the Investigative Committee of Russia announced the opening of a criminal case and the detention of Kuznetsov, head of the Personnel Department of the RF MoD, for acts of corruption committed when he led the 8th Directorate of the General Staff of the RFAF (protection of state secrets). The board of the MoD has not yet made any drastic staffing changes, though such changes are expected and deemed necessary. As with the arrested Timur Ivanov, "everybody knows everything," but a one-time crackdown on all officials may have unintended consequences.

Belousov has inherited significant challenges. "Beautiful reports" still hinder an objective assessment of the situation and correct managerial decisions, which is why he emphasized, "you can make mistakes, but you can't lie." Immediate priorities include improving the supply of small drones, electronic warfare, optoelectronic and sound-monitoring complexes, communications, strengthening air defense, and optimizing the military economy for "normal combat." The tasks outlined by the Supreme Commander have been set by the new Minister, indicating much work ahead.

In the new Kharkov direction, our troops are creating a buffer zone with heavy battles taking place. Several settlements, where the AFU defense has collapsed, have been occupied. The enemy is embroiled in scandals and theft related to constructing engineering barriers but has managed to deploy reserves from other directions, slowing our advance near Liptsy and Volchansk. The Russian Army is responding with maneuvers and artillery strikes.

The enemy is conducting daily shelling of the frontline Kursk and Belgorod regions, using weapons supplied by NATO countries against the inhabitants of Belgorod. Promised retaliatory actions against Kiev have yet to materialize.

The advance of our troops on the Ocheretino ledge west of Avdeyevka has slowed, while heavy fighting continues to the south. The RFAF maintains the initiative in the Kupyansk direction near Kislovka. Bloody battles are ongoing near the eastern part of Chasov Yar. The assault on Krasnogorovka in the South Donetsk direction continues, as well as in Staromayorskoye and Urozhaynoye on the Vremyevka ledge. On the Zaporozhye front, our troops are storming Rabotino, suffering heavy losses from AFU drones and artillery, with little opportunity for entrenchment in the destroyed village. Progress from Verbovoye is slow but hopeful.

The week was characterized by massive drone and rocket attacks by the AFU in Crimea and Krasnodar territory. The enemy targets military airfields, oil refineries, and port infrastructure, inflicting significant economic damage, which exceeds the cost of organizing effective air defense.

Overall, the Russian Army retains the initiative along the front, opening a new direction that diverts AFU forces from other sections. Ukraine's military machine, supported solely by NATO, is being systematically destroyed. There is a noted "window of opportunity" for our aviation, as enemy air defense systems are depleted or knocked out, with limited time before new systems are delivered from the West.

A senior pilot like him represents a difficult to replace loss for the UAF, plus another Su-27 gone with him.

The Russian Army killed the chief of staff and deputy commander of the air squadron, Lieutenant Colonel Vasilyuk, in battle

▪The chief of staff and first deputy commander of the aviation squadron, Lieutenant Colonel Denis Vasilyuk, was killed during a combat mission, the 831st Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said in a statement.

▪Vasilyuk was a fighter pilot of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since the beginning of the war he has flown dozens of combat missions and was a full holder of the Order of Courage, the UA publication says.
