This is what Syrsky has been fighting tooth and nail to prevent for over a year. The fall of this area is the beginning of the greater Nui-York/Toretsk operation.

The issue is that Syrsky doesn't have adequate reserves for any defensive action nor to counterattack.

All he can do is to gradually give ground and to preserve what troops he can. He can only delay, not prevent, the inevitable.

Ordering troops to surrender is the humane choice

Moving troops is as dangerous as hiding in cellars.
Out in the open the ISR will catch you.
Hiding in a cellar makes you a sitting duck.

This echelon carries logistic units, which are rather old in every single army.

The above mentioned behavior with prisoners, the talk by the usual suspects here in the west, and the brazen and large scale use of quasiballistic and cruise missiles on direct Russian targets are all signs of desperation.

Optics are obviously important, but the obsession with optics and narrative control here in America and the west is getting nuts. To me it does not bode well and it shows an underlying deep seated weakness. What concerns me is there are some amongst the cliques in power who seem prone to self deception and magical thinking. What scares me is that this is the kind of person who could push for insane levels of escalation even to the point of total loss of control.

Missile does not have as sophisticated ECM suite as aeroplanes, because missiles are smaller and are designed for single use. Personally I don't believe invisible aeroplanes either. Also Israeli actions in Syria cofirms this. They do not fly inside syrian air defense buble. They avoid being shot down by operating from Lebanese airspace.

I suspect troops on the decks of ships firing HMG and small arms at these drones as well as cannon fire is too effective at blowing these things up so this is an attempt to distract or do damage as they approach in the hopes of sneaking in and getting a direct hit with the main warhead.

That flat antenna on top at the rear looks like a satellite link... maybe some new satellites of their own to hijack the link is in order.

I am confident they will come up with ideas to make them wish they didn't do this... it is difficult to fight an enemy this stupid.

They look as aerodynamic and efficient as anything the west uses. They likely cost more than dumb bombs modified for the job but by the looks of it they are made by taking the bodies of Kh-38 missiles and making them bombs.

The Kh-38 is essentially a 40km range rocket powered 250kg bomb with various guidance options based on the version.

The GROM glide bomb is based on the same design with a 250kg bomb version with a rocket motor to boost effective range to over 100km or a pure glide model with the rocket fuel replaced with extra explosive power for shorter ranged use against stronger targets.

This seems to be the application of the glide kit to the missile case to create a low drag replacement for the original dumb bombs with glide kits...

Looks like Starlink. Which can be jammed.
That´s maybe the point of adding a few rockets to these boats.
They can stay away from ships and possible jamming.
It also seems to indicate that the Navy is getting better in detecting and destroying those
boats.
