The Ukrs. themselves. In addition, it seems a Mi-8 was also lost today?

On another note, i read that Borodai resigned. Any comments from more knowledgeable (into novorussian matters) folks on that?

As far as I know, at least 3 aircraft were shot down on the 7th, but I was referring to the "Buk" bit. The words of the Fascists carry no weight really.

RT in spanish reports that  RIA Novosti have info of 150 Ukraine army soldiers defectors seeking to join the
    Donetsk Militia.

The donetsk forces needs to be careful ,it could be real but also could be a trap.
Also the Rebels say captured 18 Grad missiles.. but no idea if that is 18 launchers or just 1 unit with 18 missiles.

That is how it was reported by CNN complete with computer animation of a BUK launch. Of course it may be misinformation as CNN say it was the same type of Russian SAM used in the tragic downing of the Malaysian airliner.

    http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2014/08/06/will-putin-realize-russia-holds-cards-paul-craig-roberts/

Will Putin Realize That Russia Holds The Cards?

    Paul Craig Roberts

More evidence, about which I hope to write at length, is piling up that Europe has acquiesced to Washington’s drive to war with Russia, a war that is likely to be the final war for humanity. By Russia’s low key and unthreatening response to Washington’s aggression, thereby giving the West the mistaken signal that Russia is weak and fearful, the Russian government has encouraged Washington’s drive to war.

It appears that the Russians’ greatest weakness is that capitalism has raised enough Russians to a comfortable living standard that the war that Washington is bringing to them is scary, and they want to avoid it in order to continue living like decadent Western Europeans.

The same thing happened to the once fierce Vandals in North Africa in the 6th century when the Vandals were exterminated by a small force from the Eastern Roman Empire. The Vandals had lost the valor that had given them a rich chunk of the Roman Empire.

Russia needs to save the world from war, but the avoidance of war requires Russia to make the costs clear to Europeans.

Faced with economic sanctions, essentially illegal and warlike actions, applied to various Russian individuals and businesses by Washington and Washington’s EU puppets and by Switzerland, a country taught to be more fearful of Washington than of Moscow, Russian President Putin has asked the Russian government to come up with countermeasures to be implemented in response to the gratuitous sanctions imposed against Russia.

But, Putin says, Russia must hold back: “Obviously we need to do it cautiously in order to support domestic manufacturers, but not hurt consumers.”

In other words, Putin wants to impose sanctions that are not really sanctions, but something that looks like tit for tat.

The amazing thing about Russia finding herself on the defensive about sanctions is that Russia, not Washington or the impotent EU, holds all the cards. Putin can bring down the economies of Europe and throw all of Europe into political and economic chaos simply by turning off the energy supply.

Putin would not have to turn off the energy supply for very long before Europe tells Washington good-bye and comes to terms with Russia. The longer Putin waits, the longer Europe has to prepare against Russia’s best weapon that can be used to peacefully resolve the conflict that Washington has orchestrated.

Washington’s aggressive moves against Russia will not stop until Putin realizes that he, not Washington, holds the cards, and plays them.

The world has had enough of Washington, its constant lies, its constant wars, and its bullying. Putin would do well to spend a few hours with Belisarius, Justinian the Great’s great general.

“When I treat with my enemies,” Belisarius said, “I am more accustomed to give than to receive counsel; but I hold in one hand inevitable ruin, in the other peace and freedom.”

That is precisely the position that Vladimir Putin is in with regard to Europe. In one hand he holds the ruin of Europe. In the other peace and freedom in the relations between Russia and Europe.

He needs to call up the dumbshit European “leaders” and tell them.

If Putin does not put his foot down hard and make clear to the Europeans what the stakes are, Washington will succeed in its determination to drive the world to war, and “exceptional and indispensable” Americans will die along with all the rest.

You are not really common with global economy and the fact that Russia is the biggest natural resource holder with around 50% resources of all countries and entire world resources known on land?

Russia makes some minor losses, but not heavy losses and in long term speaking russia makes more money and is developing own civilian sectors and works on more autonomous economy. All those who believed that western slave countries of USA can be partners have been teached now that they are not and will now develope their economy and demographic for domestic and eastern hemisphere. The West produces absolutley nothing that countries with actual valueble resources can not produce. Asian cars are one of the most famous and our german cars have today only a status symbol but become one of the lowest qualities. They work well as long they have their 2-4 years warranties and after that you have to send them to major inspections and fix this and that and since those cars are from bigger companies they want to see huge money for simple repairs. Cars today are designed to be obsolete in a just about 2-4 years, this method is called "Planned Obsolescence".

Anyway the current sanctions of the west are not hurtin russian economy, they are not aimed at anything that would hurt russian economy.

And you are not really understanding that Russia wont get hurt the sameway western countries will get hurt when Russia will even shut off gas.

Yes Russia makes huge amounts of money by selling oil/gas, but people really believe that the richest country on earth will grumble into failed states like US/UA for not being able to seel some oil and gas? The country becomes each year more and more autonomous and you can not run a country without buying russian natural resources that is impossible.

Really?!?!Rolling Eyes  I think not, the EU makes over $200 Billion USD in trade with the Russian Federation, while the overwhelming majority of the $80 Billion USD that Russia makes with trade with the EU is over LNG through pipelines. Russia can easily buy agricultural goods from India, Brazil, Kazakhstan, China, but how will the EU find an alternative to Russian gas? lol1

Probably growing it. I mean they seed terrorism and harvest terrorism, so they probably found a way to seed gas to harvest it. The West is full of opportunities....who knows what they can do with their magic economy.

Gas supplies to Europe have continued unhindered during the height of the cold war and right to this day and the only times supplies were ever interrupted was when the Ukraine was pinching gas intended for countries further down the line.

I doubt Russia will start sanctions on oil or gas and will only consider such action as a very last resort.

The west will slap sanctions willy nilly here and there on a whim... Russia is not like that because for them such economic arrangements are as important to them as they are to those they have them with.

The west has more fingers in more pies so removing them from some pies just frees those fingers up to be dipped elsewhere.
