The gas is now flowing, I doubt that this rate of supply will be maintained, a lot of it is going into storage.
Naftogaz Ukrainy has transferred PJSC Gazprom another $136 million for supplies of Russian gas in October, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said.
"They [Naftogaz] have already paid another $136 million," the minister told journalists in Kyiv on Tuesday.
At the end of September, after talks between the Russian and Ukrainian Energy Ministers, Alexander Novak and Volodymyr Demchyshyn, and the deputy head of the European Commission, Maros Sefcovic, a trilateral protocol on the conditions for the supplies of Russian gas to Ukraine was initialed. According to the head of Naftogaz Ukrainy, Andriy Kobolev, the price of supplies of Russian gas in Q4 will be $227.36 per 1,000 cubic meters.
On October 12 Gazprom resumed gas supplies to Ukraine, which had been halted at the start of July, having received a prepayment from Naftogaz in the amount of $234 million of the promised $500 million in October. Supplies are carried out in the maximum regime, 114 million cubic meters a day.
