You couldn't make it up. Imagine during the wars in Croatia, Bosnia the serbian foreign minister saying those are serbian speaking diaspora.

Yatseniuk points to four conditions for Donbas elections

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has announced main conditions for elections to be held in Donbas during a televised "Ten Minutes" on Sunday, October 18, a Cabinet spokesperson said. "With regard to elections in Donbas that is temporarily controlled by Russian gangsters and terrorists: of course, elections should be held there. And to that end, a separate law is needed. But there are very clear conditions for elections to be held in Donbas," he stressed.

The first one is that "no one will hold elections at the point of Russian automatic rifles. They must leave Ukraine and comply with the Minsk agreements," Yatseniuk said.

"The one and a half million of temporarily displaced persons registered in Ukraine must be allowed to vote in these elections and elect those who will represent local authorities in Donetsk and Luhansk," said the head of government.

The third condition: elections must be held strictly in accordance with the Ukrainian laws and the high standards of an honest and transparent election, Yatseniuk said

"Fourth: we must ensure political competition in Donetsk and Luhansk both through mass media access to these territories and by allowing all Ukrainian parties to take part in these elections and send their candidates there," he said.

"And the Russian idea to legalize this enclave through elections and grant terrorists the status of local councilors will not work," Yatseniuk said.

Yes, Ukraine's Fort doesn't produce 225's only AKM's and Zbroyar is an AR platform company.

They only produce "hunting" variants which they designate as FORT-xxx.

But they did buy some amounts of AKs from Russia in last 2 decades, not all are from old USSR stocks. They also made their bulpup variant of AK which they call Vepr.

The gas is now flowing, I doubt that this rate of supply will be maintained, a lot of it is going into storage.

Naftogaz Ukrainy has transferred PJSC Gazprom another $136 million for supplies of Russian gas in October, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said.

"They [Naftogaz] have already paid another $136 million," the minister told journalists in Kyiv on Tuesday.

At the end of September, after talks between the Russian and Ukrainian Energy Ministers, Alexander Novak and Volodymyr Demchyshyn, and the deputy head of the European Commission, Maros Sefcovic, a trilateral protocol on the conditions for the supplies of Russian gas to Ukraine was initialed. According to the head of Naftogaz Ukrainy, Andriy Kobolev, the price of supplies of Russian gas in Q4 will be $227.36 per 1,000 cubic meters.

On October 12 Gazprom resumed gas supplies to Ukraine, which had been halted at the start of July, having received a prepayment from Naftogaz in the amount of $234 million of the promised $500 million in October. Supplies are carried out in the maximum regime, 114 million cubic meters a day.

Ukraine's Armed Forces began withdrawing tanks, artillery weapons and mortars from the contact line in the Donetsk region on Tuesday morning, Armed Forces General Staff spokesman Leonid Matiukhin said via a video link from Kramatorsk.

"Today will see the start of the implementation of the second stage of the pullback of tanks, artillery cannons with caliber less than 100mm and mortars under 120mm. As was planned, the weapons will be removed to a distance of at least 15 kilometers from the actual line of contact. The pullback has already begun. At the moment, it is taking place in the Debaltseve area," he told a press briefing on Tuesday morning.

Vladyslav Selezniov, another spokesman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff, told Interfax earlier on Tuesday that Ukraine's Armed Forces were ready to begin withdrawing tanks and artillery weapons under 100mm in the Donetsk region and were only awaiting information from the Special Monitoring Mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe that it was prepared to monitor the process.

Terrorist attack in downtown Donetsk. This is a beaut, as they say down under. Kiev does everything but declare war on Russians and Russia, then goes to the WTO whining that Russia won't buy their railway wagons etc and its costing them lots.

Ukraine has lodged a lawsuit against Russia with the World Trade Organization (WTO) over restrictions on the export of cars and railroad switches, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Natalia Nikolska has said. "Today Ukraine has filed the first lawsuit against Russia to the WTO which is related to the restrictions that were imposed on Ukrainian railroad cars and switches," she told reporters at a briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers in Kyiv on Wednesday.

Nikolska said this is the first of the lawsuits being prepared against Russia on the dispute. She said that Russia has groundlessly imposed restrictions on Ukrainian wagon exports since 2013, annulling the relevant certificates. The restrictions applied to Kriukov Car Building Works, Dnipropetrovsk switches plant, Azovzahalmash, and Kharkiv machine building plant FED.

According to her, Ukraine has repeatedly tried to settle the dispute in WTO committees, but without success. As a result, Ukraine had to resort to the WTO dispute settlement procedure. Nikolska said that Ukraine expected to resolve this dispute with Russia through consultations within 30 days.

According to Nikolska, as a result of the restrictions exports of goods group 86 from Ukraine decreased from $1.7 billion in 2013 to $51 million in the first seven months of 2015.

Surprise! Malaysia was given very limited access in to the MH17 Inquiry:

"We were the owner of the aircraft. How can we be prevented full access?"

"We could not view the aircraft and were not invited to attend certain meetings."

The Transport Ministry today said Malaysia was not given full access and privileges into the Dutch Safety Board’s (DSB) investigation into the downing of Malaysia Airlines MH17.
