Looks like 20386 is alive and kicking at least 12th of May

Sredne-Nevskiy shipyard - one of the leaders in composite shipbuilding Russia. On the eve of the International naval salon FlotProm prepared an interview with the General Director of the enterprise Vladimir Seredka who told you about technologies, the specifics of import substitution in industry and planned modernization of production facilities.
[]
One of the most interesting orders of the enterprise - the construction of a series of add-ons made of composite materials for new Russian corvettes. What is the advantage of these add-ons before metal? Historically there were two kinds of superstructures: steel and aluminum. The second appearance was due to the increasing demands for their weight. The steel superstructure is heavy, but if its volume is large, it begins to affect the stability of the ship. Of course, if the superstructure is small, it plays no role. But now their size is continuously growing, there is a lot of weapons, radio-electronic means. So, increasing the mass of the structure. Metacentric height begins to decrease and the vehicle becomes less stable on the course, on the reverse. In order to facilitate used aluminum. But it has negative side - it is very easily burns in the combustion process emits poisonous gas. Therefore, these add-ons are very dangerous for the crew. The composite material does not burn, it just smolders and gas does not emit. We checked in the test unit the difference between aluminum and composite when exposed to high temperatures. Aluminum is burned out completely, and from the composite workpiece only separated layers, but it is not fully burnt. Moreover, the composite material even easier. It is ideal for vehicle as it allows to put more equipment, weapons. Corvettes of project 20380 built including the far East, the Amur shipyard. Whether justified economically shipping add-on that distance? Shipping cost add-on is only 10% of the cost of their production. Relatively inexpensive. However, starting from next add-on, we decided to change the concept and to deliver the finished structure, but only its elements. Assembly to be manufactured in the far East, there is a small shop on composite materials. This, of course, reduce the cost of delivery.
Do you plan to make add-ons for larger ships? While we have a request for the production of the superstructure for the new generation Corvette project 20386. It will be large enough.[/b]

This is supposed to be 76mm gun similar to 22160 project shown to Rogozin earlier on. BTW 16VL is to small to be UKSK, so guewss you´re right.

Could those blue containers below deck be Klub-K container missile launchers?
I think there is something similar on Project 22160 patrol ship.

No, it's A-190 with a new casing.

Actually I think it is pretty clever... it means that it is rather more flexible... if you look at the image there are three under deck sections... from the rear appears to be recovery gear for towed equipment or speed boats or whatever, while the centre section has space for two containers for 8 long range land attack cruise missiles and a speed boat on each side, and the front section has a Kamov helicopter on a lift mechanism to raise it to the deck level.
Now the yellow overhead crane system actually covers the rear two sections so I rather suspect that if they wanted to they could load up to 4 blue containers in the middle section at the cost of the two large speed boats... that is 16 large cruise missiles.
Conversely if they know they wont need large cruise missiles and are on pirate patrol then I suspect the two small jet boats could have a Ka-226T sitting between them that can be moved forward onto the lift and raised to the deck for extra air support... or indeed a range of UAVs and underwater unmanned vehicles could be carried in the space freed up.
the rear section is interesting too... perhaps subs or two further speed boats could be stored on either side of the winch mechanism...
No, it's A-190 with a new casing.
Good... 100mm is rather more powerful.

Re: Project 2038.0: Steregushchy Corvette
Thank you,
months of work will be needed to finish it, evenin faster shipyards, i hope they will make it during 2016....
Do you have any info about Gromky ( same shipyard) or about Gremyashchy or Provorny ?

Even if they are "dead end" they should be finnished as soon as posible, Russia desperately need each modern ship.

I don't think they need that particular type of ship given time and money wasted. And after all this time it is not even remotely modern anymore...
Start fresh, 20386 or 22800 since they already want to build them, can't be worse than this boondoggle.

Re: Project 2038.0: Steregushchy Corvette
Completed ships don't take up shipyard space... and the Russian navy has an enormous range of roles and missions that need to be performed... even a flawed new vessel is better than nothing.
A bird on the water is worth 1,000 times more than keel frames on the floor of a shipyard...

Agreed on that.
What I was saying is: finish the ones still being built but only lay down new types of ships from now on.
