    Thanks!!! thumbsup

It is good to finally see this ship from above. It is awesome, they really knocked it out of the park with this one.

Wise thing to do would be to send blueprints of it to every shipyard in Russia and build as many as physically possible. russia

    Project 22350: Admiral Sergei Gorshkov - Page 20 Fq8v6k10

Why don't they to put another 2 Redut VLS  (or 2 shtill VLS or the little tor VLS or 1 UKSK) instead of the 130mm canon and put two 76mm canons on both side of the ship like it's done on the Horizon class ? Isn't the 130mm too big for a frigate ? Most of ships carry 76mm.

I had the same reaction as PapaDragon when I saw the empty space. It could have been better design even if it's well armed for 130m frigate.

    Project 22350: Admiral Sergei Gorshkov - Page 20 800px-11

BTW the gorshlov's radar seems little comparing to Horizon's, no ?

    Because that would:

    1) change center of gravity
    2) make the ship A LOT more expensive

Look at the VLS layout of DDG-51. You can't just stick missile in every space that looks "empty" from the outside, as it affects the ship's stability, buoyancy, righting torque and other properties.

I think you are right; each of the hatches right below the top hatches probably are for a 6 tube/container Paket launcher.

A 130mm gun is vastly more effective than a pissy 76mm. Range & damage potential are greatly improved, and the shell provides more volume for future upgrades such as guided munitions.

Can the Redut VLS support kalibr missile ? They look similar on the picture but Kalibr is a big missiles.

BTW, are they planning to put just the missile with 40 km or add the one with 120 km? I saw a image of them they doesn't have the same length.

Probably a mix of them. Missiles of 40km can be 4 in each launcher, those of 120km one

Mmmm, no, Paket is amidships, closer to the smoke stack.

Those doors next to UKSK are for maintenance access, they are NOT launchers of any kind.

Don't waste your time on this, these are no weapons of any kind there.

You are wrong. It's in the Rif-M VLS (S-300) that you can put 4 9M96E (40km) instead of one 48N6-2 (150 km big missile).

The 120km missile is the 9M96E2 and is almost the same size as 9M96E. Redut is the naval Vityaz system and can use just 9M96E (40 km) missiles and maybe 9M96E2 ( that was my question).

There are 32 cells on Gorshkov and they can accomodate just 1 missile.

http://red-stars.org/spip.php?article319 French source, it says exactly what I said.

Ok, I don't know much about the ship itself, so mine was simply a conjecture.

Paket-Eh/NK launchers should be added. In proekt 22350, the Paket-Eh/NK lanchers are fixed, quadruple, side-facing launchers to the starboard and port of the forward UKSK, underneath the hatches.

It is the 91РТ (with 91RT transliteration) antisubmarine (antisubsurface) missile.

Here is the 91РТЭ2 (91RTEh2) member of the family:
