Kornet-T better protection than kornet -D as well. Chosta/hosta another useful piece of kit. And laser guided munitions using 2S7. Maybe even a handful of Bmo-T

I doubt that. Would like to see some proofs/photos from SAA. If they got them they will post photos on social media soon.
For now we just have some rebels claiming that they have been targeted by ATGMs from around 10 km distance.

Seal jordan border then your left with Israeli side. You know for fact Israel will attack SAA. I would imagine many in jordian side will end up looking for deals once pressure is on hence it could be quick to have.

That part is also less populated, so it is very likely that SAA will attack that area all the way to border crossing with Jordan. Indeed a laser guided round, would probably achieve a similar general result and the Russians have used that before.

The war will likely continue long, basically because the US and Israel impose war. Russia knows that when the Syrian war stops, the US aid to the rebels and Israel will move to rearm Ukraine or Georgia.

The logical decline in the numbers of the oldest weapons in Syria, Russia and Asia can lead to more intense help of Russia, Iran and other countries with some weapons:

    LAND ARMAMENT LIKELY NEEDS

    Artillery Towed Anti-tank: (M)T-12
    by declining numbers of ZIS-3, D-44, D-48, BS-3c (M)T-12
by declining numbers of other man-portable recoiless weapons like the SPG-9

    Artillery Towed Mortar: Nona-K
by declining numbers of Vasilek, M-240, M-43, M-160

    Infantry Reconnaisance: BRDM-2
by declining numbers of BRDM-1, BRDM-2

    Infantry IFV: BMD-1, BMP-1
    by declining numbers of BMP-1

Surface-Surface Heavy rockets and missiles: Oldest Iranian models (Oghab,...)
    by declining numbers of FROG-7

Surface-Surface MRLS: Oldest Iranian models (Fajr-1,...)
    by declining numbers of BMD-20, BM-24, BM-14, BM-13

    For other types of weapons, bigger stocks of T-54/55/62, M-30 122mm, M-46 130mm, BTR-60, D-20 152mm, ZU-23(-2) 23mm, PT-76, S-60 57mm, D-1 152mm, and in lower level of SA-2, SA-3, SA-5, can sustain longer time the Syrian arsenals in the pre-war numbers.

In the case of the Surface-Surface weapons Russia seems to prefer to keep their BM-21 and other systems for the own defense, and Iran is being in charge of restoring the arsenals of Syria, despite the Israeli and US protests.

    AIR ARMAMENT LIKELY NEEDS

    Fighters: J-2(FT-2), J-5(F-5, FT-5) (from North Korea)
by declining numbers of MiG-15, MiG-21
by declining numbers of L-39 auxiliary aircraft used as combat aircraft in Syria

FGA: Be-6/12, H-5 (from North Korea)
by declining numbers of more modern combat aircrafts
by declining numbers of L-39 auxiliary aircraft used as combat aircraft in Syria

For other types of weapons, the help is more difficult.

With the end of the pockets in Syria, the role of the Syrian air force will change. It will be less oriented to ground attack, specially in the southern front, and will be more oriented to air defense roles, specially anti-drone and anti-missile roles.

    SEA ARMAMENT LIKELY NEEDS

    Warships: Project 61/01090
by declining numbers of Project 159

For other types of weapons, the help is more difficult.

The weapons bolded in fuchsia, of Russian origin, can leave the active service in Russia in 2-4 years. The Be-6/12 can have an inmediate total decommission in Russia, to go as help.

Some analyst's think that Syria will try and take Golan heights. What's people's view on this?

Yeah... my advice when unarmed and thrown into the ring with hungry lions is to duck at the last second and reach under and grab his balls and squeeze really sharply... it will make his eyes water so you can escape...

Or stay out of the lions cage until you have sorted the rest of the shit out in Syria first... Smile

Not that I don't think the Golan heights legally and legitimately belong to Syria of course.

In fact I would use this to my advantage and just publicly announce that Israeli support for terrorism in Syria is an issue and if attacks don't stop then removing Israeli forces from Syria will become priority number one... starting in the Golan heights... and see what happens.

AT-6 and konkurs mounted on brdm-2 would be enough for them but if they have been issued I would imagine only to special forces and tiger forces

Older and cheaper missiles would be ideal... cheap but still perfectly effective and available in large numbers allowing rather widespread use...

The US and Israel want badly to assure the limited gains that they still keep after seven years of war.

Unfortunately for them the war will continue, because Russia knows that if this war stops the US efforts will move to Ukraine, to Georgia, to the Caucasus Islamists... And Iran knows that if this war stops the US efforts will be focused to promote a war inside Iran...

Unfortunately for the US and Israel, missiles do not gain territory. And they have not infantry at this point in the area of the war.

The US and Israel know since long time that they are facing a defeat unless they enter with their own infantry. But they do not want to see US and Israeli tanks burning, with US and Israeli soldiers burning inside.

A retirement of Israel of the Golan can be forced.

par far, better than to post the picture of a US paramilitary dressed of what hi is not, would be to post the content of the new, that say interesting things:

Commander Of US-backed Forces Accuses Russia Of Cooperating With ISIS
    Polat Can

On May 22, Polat Can, a senior military commander of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), accused Russia of cooperating with ISIS. The commander claimed that evacuation of ISIS fighters from southern Damascus is a proof of the relationship between Russia and the terrorist organization.

“It’s now confirmed for the whole world how strong is the level of coordination between Russia and terrorist groups including ISIS. The recent agreement between Russia and ISIS in Damascus is one of the series of Russian agreements with terrorism,” Polat Can said in a Tweet.

Less than 1,000 fighters of ISIS and members of their families withdrew from southern Damascus on May 21. Later, Syrian pro-government and opposition sources said that ISIS fighters had been evacuated to the al-Rukban refugee camp in the al-Tanaf area, which is under the control of the US-led coalition.

According to pro-governemnt sources, this proves that it was the US-led coalition who played a key role in the evacuation of ISIS fighters from southern Damascus by accepting to host them, and not Russia, contrary to Polat claims.

The US-led coalition and the SDF havve made several well-documented deals with ISIS since 2014. Among the biggest deals was an evacuation agreement that was reached in the city of Manbij in August, 2016, which allowed more than 2,000 ISIS fighters to withdraw with their heavy weapons from the city .

A bigger evacuation deal was reached at the end of the Raqqa battle in October 2017. Under the deal, the US-led coalition and the SDF allowed more than 3,000 fighters of ISIS to withdraw from the city, again with their heavy weapons and trucks loaded with ammunition.

According to local observers, Polat accusations are an attempt to demonizing the picture of Russia among Syrian Kurds. The SDF began to spread such propaganda in its areas since the beginning of the Turkish attack on Afrin area, earlier this year.

There is also people here trying to work the other side of the US and Israeli propaganda. They attempt to demonize the picture of the Kurds between pro-Russian people.

But the most interesting thing. The ISIS fighters from Damascus are in the US controled area of Al-Tanf.

"IRANIAN FORCES WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN ANY OPERATION IN DARAA: IRANIAN OFFICIAL."

On May 23, Iran’s ambassador to Jordan Mojtaba Ferdosipour told the Jordanian al-Ghad newspaper that Iranian forces will not participate in any possible military operation of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in southern Syria. The ambassador suggested that such operation will be backed by Russia.

“Iran will not have any role or participation in such an operation [in southern Syria] if it happened, just as we did not have a role in the operations of Ghouta, Duma and Damascus,” Ferdosipour said during an interview with al-Ghad.

Ferdosipour also confirmed that Russia and the Damascus government are currently negotiating with militants in southern Syria in an attempt to reach a peaceful solution. If these efforts are failed, a military operation will be an option, according to the Iranian diplomat.

The Iranian ambassador also denied the presence of Iranian forces in the southern governorate of Daraa and stressed that only the SAA and the Jordanian Army should be deployed on the Syrian-Jordanian border. Ferdosipour added that Iran had supported the US-Russian ceasefire agreement, which was employment in southern Syria in July 2017.

“We support cooperation and communication between Jordan and Syria to ensure the security of the border between the two countries,” Ferdosipour said.

According to local observers, the SAA and Russia are indeed preparing to launch a large-scale military operation against the radical militants in governorates of Daraa and al-Quneitra. Elite units of the SAA 4th Division, Republican Guard and the Tiger Forces are already being deployed in southern Syria.

Good, finally some common sense. That rathole downstairs needs to be cleared out and last thing 555st and SAA need is another Iranian/Israeli love story putting a spanner in the whole thing and giving Uncle Sam more excuses to stick his pecker in.

Iran has very little to offer pretty much anywhere in Syria. The war on cities and major highways is over, possibly time to go home.
They've setup some checkpoints (or soon will) around Idlib and started airdropping supplies, which may imply a shift in role (to that of peace-keepers/reconstruction).

I can only assume Putin had a word with them.

Even you both know this will not avoid Israeli attacks to the Syrian forces against their advances in the area.

And of course Russia, Syria and Iran know it.

Iran is main manpower supplier for fronts around Deir Ez Zor and south Aleppo. If not for them IS will be back in Palmyra tomorrow. Those checkpoints are there for years now. They were the one who broke siege of Nubl and Zahra and ones who captured south Aleppo. Well not Iranians but their supported forces, Hezbollah and Afghan militias. And airdrops for Fua enclave is ongoing by Iranian Air Force for years now.
