According to this article(don't know how much truth to it), Hundreds of Russians are being developed secretly to Syria to continue the war declared by Vladimir Putin against the Islamic State, according to the data revealed by the journalistic investigation of the Russian web site Fontanka.

About 400 Russian fighters have been secretly sent to the front line under the leadership of a man named "Wagner", says the story.

Dozens of Russian mercenaries have been killed so far in the war in Syria, but Russia prohibited the private companies of mercenaries, the issue has not been known, says Russian web site Fontanka.

According to the Russian website, Wagner has already recruited a 1,000 mercenaries for the Russian funding mercenary brigade, which was set up by a dissolved private army called "Slavs Soldiers", whose members are veterans of the Russian army.

The same private power it is said that joined -unofficially - from the Kremlin to participate in the business of annexation of Crimea to Russia after the nazi coup in Ukraine.

The private he army's recruiting Russian ex-soldiers, who have orders not to reveal to anyone that joined in the force.

After six months of ferrying materiel and personnel between Russia and Syria, the Northern Fleet's transport vessel "Yauza" appears to be heading home. "Yauza" departed Tartus, Syria, on March 30 and has continued a westerly transit through today. According to AIS data, the vessel may call in Valletta, Malta, before continuing to its homeport of Murmansk.

"Yauza" departed Severomorsk on September 10, 2015, and arrived in Novorossiysk on October 1. During its half-year deployment to the Black Sea, the naval transport vessel completed six trips between Novorossiysk and Tartus.

With the departure of "Yauza" and the disappearance of the commercial transport "Aleksandr Tkachenko" (last noted near Feodosiya on March 13), it appears the "Syrian Express" currently is relying exclusively on Russian Navy landing ships to ferry cargo between Russia and Syria.

Welcome to the thread. If that sickens you perhaps you have strayed into the wrong place.

We don't know where the action took place or when or who the combatants were so it is difficult to pass judgement as to what degree the targets deserved what happened to them.

If it was ISIS and other terrorist groups, then perhaps they should have considered the phrase 'do unto others what one would have done to oneself' before they started down the path they took, slaughtering ('helpless' as you might put it) prisoners and civilians.

Why don't Russia give Syria the MiG-29M2 and Yak-130 Syria paid for before 2011? Those are all built so what's the point of withholding them?

Because the Russian Defense industry incompetence ,mixed with the poor state of Russian military industry. that never gets any order of its clients in time. waiting more than 10 years to deliver migs 29SM that Syria paid ,is like a world record in poor service.  Russia incompetence on its military industry is part of the problem ,that allows the west to take a lot of sales away from Russia. Because Americans provide an excellent service to any military weapon they sale,Fast delivery and Russia not. Russia inexperience with Capitalism is probably one of the reason they suck so much in service.

In other news another Syrian pilot plane shut down.. yes where was the Russian airforce
to assist the poor man? so he is not captured?

At least they could have helped to wipe the terrorist surrounding him or even drop a bomb in the pilot so he is not captured and later tortured to death. Nor really impressed with Russia coordination with the Syrian military. their bad communication and coordination between Russia and Syria shows again. He got no rescue operation and no help either at least to die with dignity.
