The Russians and the SAA seem to have perfected their attack strategy. They are now well into areas that have no preset fixed defensive positions to have to skirt around. This was a move yesterday.

There must surely be choas on the road systems still in the hands of the militants as they and their families flee west away from the fighting. This will further reduce the militant's ability to move to areas that need re-enforcing, unlike the SAA who, by liberating roads, have an increasing ability to move units around.

It looks as if the SAA are intent on retaking as much 'flat' land as they can, forcing the militants into the hills, not a good place to be in winter especially as it is unlikely that there will be large amounts of prepositioned supplies there since they weren't expect this situation in their worst nightmares. By damaging any supply routes in the militants face big problems in the medium term.

Didn't expect this video (at link).

From the Russian Tigre? that was watching the US when they killed the 14 year old boy a couple of days ago. Much firing by the US. Are these US special forces or just infantry?

No need for that , just drag him down in libya and syria with huge losses and let the internal politics do the rest.

Look at the map, he has trouples with syria ,greece, egypt ,KSA ,russia and israel . His stupidness is enough for his end.

Choppers give too much early warning. Artillery is way scarier.

those outdated choppers can still be useful if used correctly ,for providing real time information on
turkey army and their backed jihadist positions ,they also ideal for sending major supplies and new troops fast..
and evacuating critically wounded soldiers.. they however should not be used the way Syria military use them
for flying above enemy zones.. and more ideal scenario will be the chopper to stay 5km behind the front line monitor all movements.. spy drones also could be useful. or kamikazi drones.

And they are also very useful for barrel-bombing defenseless civilians.

Turkish troops themselves should fight with these armored vehicles on the front-lines, as the FSA are not familiar with them, and do not know how to properly use them to a good effect.

While you rejoice over the FSA fleeing keep in mind that this whole offensive is a humanitarian catastrophe.

I also wonder if blindly supporting the tyrannical Alawite minority is really worth a serious deterioration in relations with Turkey.

It is they who sheltered Nazi war criminals after the war, despite being a Soviet Block state. I find them disgusting.

I think that it is not worth it.

You know the Black Sea Fleet needs to sail through the Turkish straits to get to Syria.

Cannot believe the stupidity of the individuals posting here.

Define for me barrel bombing civilians? You do realize HTS and such groups purposly mix themselves in with the civilians to use as human shields right?.

Assad doesn't go "Shit I see a group of kids BARREL BOMB THEM NOW".

While it's a shame civis die in war HTS and terrorist groups are the ones responsible if they left kept away from them, no one would die.

Blaming Assad for this shows how out of touch with reality you are.

BTW the Turks and their groups have committed QUITE a few crimes against defenseless civilians on purpose, I don't see you calling that out.

Lets not forget the Turks are one of the countries that started this conflict, there is a price for every action and part of Turkey's price for what it did is refugees or are you ignorant enough not to realize for every action comes a consequence.

Ah I see you felt the need to be an A-Hole, Yes those old outdated choppers will be so useful against modern MANPADS. Think before you type buddy.

Assads already lost three choppers and the Rebels have only had MANPADS for a few days. You do know Assad doesn't have many choppers right? and replacing choppers takes time not that he can, I doubt Syria can even produce Choppers, Russia isn't about to hand over modern choppers to them.

Comments like yours make me roll my eyes.

Syrian choppers do not have good enough electronics for those rolls, The only thing they can do now is transport.
