Russia would not have gone in for a regime change if the time was not ripe.   It could have intervened to kick back the regime forces to the proper
boundaries of the DNR and LNR and that would have been OK.   But it can clean house instead.   People who bitched at Putin for not saving Ukraine
in 2014 are ignorant.   The koolaid drinking was over the top.   Now we have had 8 years of Maidan joy and the koolaid don't taste so good.   So
Putin is actually using the right approach and taking psychology into account.   Something the Soviets never did outside of insane social engineering.

People have pointed to mass migration of pro-Russian people out of Banderastan shifting the sympathy meter.   But I do not really buy this since
people were leaving for economic reasons first.   Anyway, we will see how this goes.
