Re: Russia and economic war by the west
Ruble getting stronger and stronger.
Nice move from russian about obliging europeans to pay in rubles. "I can't use dollars and euros ? Ok. Give me rubles. I can still use them if you want my gas." Either europeans pay in ruble making it stronger because they don't have many rubles and would need to sell european products for rubles in order to have enough (800 million euros per day for oil so they will need a looot) either they remove sanctions and let russians use their euros, their yachts and villas...
On thing is sure : bye bye the dollar. No way it comes back in russian hands anymore. And seeing all this China will remove it too quickly.

This is just magnificent. Instead of cutting the gas to Europe in a knee-jerk reaction, Russia took its sweet time, watched the EU give all kinds of excuses about why they could not abandon Russian hydrocarbons and waited for the key players to make their positions clear, and then elegantly kicked the balls of the Eurotards out of the field. Priceless

Re: Russia and economic war by the west
Chubais left Russia
There are reports that Anatoly Chubais has decided to leave his current position. After leaving the top post at Rosnano, he worked as a special representative of the President of Russia for relations with foreign (international) organizations. Chubais' tasks declaratively included "achieving the goals of sustainable development while intensifying contacts with international institutions."
News agency TASS citing a source, reports that Anatoly Chubais left this post.
It is also reported that for Chubais the issue was not limited to this, and he decided to leave the country.
He allegedly made such a decision because of his disagreement with the conduct of a military special operation in Ukraine.
So far, there is no specific information as to which country the “main privatizer of Russia” has departed for and in what status (unless, of course, he does not have foreign citizenship) he intends to stay abroad.
Recall that Chubais remained one of the few high-ranking Russian officials against whom foreign countries did not impose any sanctions. This alone raised many questions, not to mention questions about which international institution Chubais was developing cooperation with "sustainable development" with. A separate question: could Chubais leave Russia without questions from law enforcement officers, at least on the basis of involvement in state secrets? Or did the ex-member of the Russian government no longer have such involvement?
In Russia itself, Anatoly Chubais was one of those whose public rating, so to speak, was close to zero.

This a war on many fronts. There is the actual war on the ground, there is the economic war, there is the information war and it all belongs in one thread because one war impacts the entire war.

Indeed there is and it does.
But here on this site we have two parallel threads running, one on the military aspects and one on the political/financial aspects. By doing that and keeping to it, we are able to search one or the other without getting bogged down with extraneous posts not relevant to the aspect of interest.
This site is a forum with the luxury of specific threads for specific subjects or subsets of subjects.
It is not a single thread site combining everything in one place like say Facebook where there is just so much in that place that it just disappears down the slot at the bottom of the page.
It is hard enough now to keep up to date with the shear volume of posts in this thread and, if you miss only a day or two its virtually impossible. To add to that volume just makes the whole situation worse.
All it needs is the discipline of deciding where the post you want to make best fits (the thread titles can help in that) and, if in the other thread, undertaking the huge task of a couple of extra clicks.
Some of us have been here a long time, including you, so know the score. Newcomers need to get it into their heads that there are good reasons for large subjects being split over multiple threads.

"Like, did this just really happen. Can't be, they wouldn't dare..." "recheck"...
First stage: "We won't buy them in rubles, not sure what Russia is saying here"
Second stage:
Third stage:
Finally btw.
They thought they could wage economic war with impunity. They've gotten used to it for so long they can't even process the punch hitting right in the face. "Did he really just hit me right now?" "What is this?"
European elites are tied at the hip to the American system. They all go down in the same ship. Thus they all will fight the same common enemies threatening that very system - that is both Russia AND CHINA!
This level of elite fighting for dominance hasn't been waged since WW2 tbh. While the prospects of nuclear war haunt this elite conflict, it's also probably the main reason we're not in WW3 right now. Otherwise conventional conflict would have surely ensued.

Because the "Russian special operation" is a multi-facetted enterprise that has more than just the militray perspective? Financial/economic warfare is just as important (in fact even more so) than the military. Its pointless to win on the ground if the home front collpases and you're forced to sue for peace on the enemies terms. News like this reinforces the facts that Russia has nuclear options that the West fears greatly
