Second one is the talks that Russia is having with the US w.r.t security guarantees. Which is to revert to the 1997 borders of NATO. Hope Russia will stick to it. This discussion/talks will now come after the Ukraine mission is over or settled.

Statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense on the special operation in Ukraine. The main thing:

The RF Armed Forces disabled communication, reconnaissance, relaying and switching centers in Vinnitsa with a long-range high-precision weapon strike;
The SBU, with the support of Western countries, is preparing a provocation in Ukraine using toxic substances to blame Russia;
there are no chemical munitions in the units of the RF Armed Forces involved in a special military operation;
Russian aviation and air defense shot down one Mi-24 helicopter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and six drones during the day;
The Russian Federation, unlike the United States, has fulfilled its international obligations by completely destroying all stockpiles of chemical weapons;
operational-tactical, army and unmanned aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed 34 military facilities of Ukraine in a day;
video footage of civilians who died in Chernihiv, who were allegedly shot by Russian servicemen, is another production by the SBU;
The RF Armed Forces have captured a detailed map of the territory of Ukraine with facilities where poisonous substances are stored.

Anyway, all this depends not only what Russia wants. "Ukraine" of course has little or no say, but USA is behind them running the show. And today it definitely looks like USA is far from deescalating. They are increasing the military aid.

No there not. Influential U.S. senator from Texas, Ted Cruz, in a interview he conducted back in 2014 he called for Ukraine to join HATO and have Aegis Ashore placed within it's territory.

I repeat it expanding it little more. Two stuffs.

1) Current Special operations in Ukraine will prevent NATO entry and in effect any NATO offensive systems in Ukraine.
&
2) Russian talks with US on security gaurantee, which was going on prior to the current mil campaign in Ukraine.

Regardless of the outcome of the the 1st, the 2nd remains a different deal, in which Russia is demanding NATO to revert to its 1997 borders. Which also means whatever has been installed in Poland will have to be removed or dismantled.
Russia made it clear that, failing to get a security gaurantee will force Russia to take counter measures - maybe increased overseas deployment.

I don't think Russia is in any shortage of armour at the Ukrainian front. But the combat is so intense that units simply have to be rotated with as many fresh reserves as possible

Those with combat experience in Osetia are already on pension. 080808 wasn't yesterday, even if it feels so.

Update: Three days ago, allegations emerged online that Azov Batallion would stage a false flag operation by blowing up this theater.

I am NOT saying that's what happened. It could be a Russian air strike.

But the timing of the rumor and subsequent explosion is very strange.

"On the morning of March 16, high-precision long-range weapons struck at the military infrastructure of Ukraine. As a result, communications, intelligence, relaying and switching centers in the village of Vinnitsa were disabled," said Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov.
    On March 9, Konashenkov said that the command post of the Ukrainian Air Force is located in Vinnitsa, which receives data on the air situation from NATO radar detection aircraft from Poland.
    "The leadership of the Ukrainian armed forces is trying to make up for the lack of information about the air situation by obtaining data at the air force command post in Vinnitsa from E-3A aircraft of the AWACS-NATO system. These aircraft are on round-the-clock duty in Polish airspace," he said on March 9 Konashenkov.

On Monday, Russian ambassador to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia cited a Russian military intelligence report that Ukrainian nationalist fighters transported 80 tonnes of ammonia to the settlement of Zolochev, Kharkov region. The envoy suggested these nationalist forces were preparing a provocation to accuse Russia of using chemical weapons.
The Russian Defence Ministry says it has information that Ukraine's security service is planning a provocation involving the use of poisonous substances, and that Kiev has received support in these efforts from members of the UN Security Council.
"We have it on good authority that, with the support of Western countries, the Security Service of Ukraine is preparing a provocation using poisonous substances against civilians. The purpose of this action is to accuse Russia of using chemical weapons against the people of Ukraine," MoD spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in a briefing Wednesday.

Not only Polish air space, but they also fly them over Lithuania, probably other countries, and also over the Black Sea.

Briefing by the Russian Defense Ministry on the situation in Mariupol

The RF Armed Forces evacuated more than 31,000 citizens from Mariupol in a day. Rescued residents talk about mass atrocities and crimes of Ukrainian nationalists;

Americans are already claiming the S-300 are in Ukraine now.

At this point, either Russia is waiting for them to be set up, or they will be sending target drones to pick up location of the AD systems.
