Top global chip maker unveils Russia plans

Taiwan wants to continue cooperation on joint projects source

The world’s top chip-manufacturing nation, Taiwan, plans to continue cooperation with Russia despite the current crisis over Ukraine, Minister of Science and Technology Wu Tsung-tsong said on Monday, as cited by news agency CNA.

While speaking at a Legislative Education and Culture Committee meeting, Wu said that Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) has 50 ongoing projects with the Russian Science Foundation. Most of the projects are in the fields of science, engineering, and technological development, the minister said.

Wu also praised Russia’s science and space technology as being “very good” and said that bilateral cooperation has benefited Taiwan as it develops its own space capabilities, especially in small satellites.

Taiwan is the unmatched leader of the global semiconductor industry, accounting for 92% of the world’s manufacturing capacity. The government has pledged to support international sanctions against Russia, with its chip producer giant TSMC having stopped the production of Russian microprocessors at its plant. Experts have warned, however, that a ban on tech sales to Russia could spark a global microchip war. Sanctions could backfire on manufacturers of computer processors and semiconductors, as many crucial components for their production are sourced exclusively in Russia, they said.

    It was evacuated first apparently.

3 Ukrainian military died, and some 8 civilians are missing, but they're being searched for. That's according to the Nikolayev governor at any rate

Point 3) Boris/NATO don't want a ceasefire or a deal to be done that's always been the case, they want war.

Point 6) I would imagine that majority and not all AD systems are destroyed, most likely all S-300.

Point 7) ah the EU the land of the free, free speech, right to protest. Seems like it's not so true.

Point 8 ) is this an attempt by USA to goad Russian air defences into a provocation so gives them an excuse to launch NATO into Ukraine?

    Updates

    1) The meeting of the Russian-Ukrainian delegations at the Dolmabahçe palace ended

    2) Ukrainian negotiator: If the new security guarantee system is approved, Kyiv will agree to a neutral situation

    3) Boris Johnson: The ceasefire in Ukraine is not enough to lift sanctions on Russia

    4) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi has arrived in Ukraine. The visit will take place as part of a mission to ensure the safety of nuclear facilities

    5) Russian Defense Minister Shoigu claims that conscripts summoned during spring conscription campaign will not be send to the war

    6) Russian Defense Minister Shoigu claims that main goals of 1st stage of war against Ukraine have been achieved. Ukrainian Navy, air defense and air forces completely destroyed

    7) 8 people have already been charged in Czech Republic with supporting Putin's war in Ukraine. 126 more now being investigated, Police Dpt Informed

8 ) A U.S Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle "CW12" along with whatever Aircraft are flying along with it is continuing to make Rounds near the Polish-Ukrainian Border and the NATO Base in Rzeszow as it has for over 2 Hours now, at points getting within 9 Miles from the Ukrainian Border

What's so revolutionary about its scope and results

Russia is betting on getting more cities under its control, and for its propaganda to overcome the insane nationalist propaganda in the Ukraine. Which is happening, but slowly, and the rising number of corpses do no favours.

Russia is also betting on the Ukrainian army surrendering, for it to get past the psychological barrier of gaining victory or a ceasefire, aided again by the war propaganda, and then surrendering in mass. But there is no guarantee of this either

Overall this looks like the Austro-Hungarian invasion of Serbia more than anything. Without the atrocities, but basically the lead-up to it and the evolution of the military campaign have some similarities.

Russian MoD Decides to Reduce Military Activity in Kiev and Chernigov Directions

"Due to the fact that negotiations on the preparation of an agreement on the neutrality and non-nuclear status of Ukraine, as well as on the provision of security guarantees to Ukraine, are moving into practice, taking into account the principles discussed during today's meeting, by the Russian Ministry of Defence in order to increase mutual trust and create the necessary conditions for further negotiations and achievement of the ultimate goal of agreeing on the signing of the above agreement, a decision was made to radically, at times, reduce military activity in the Kiev and Chernigov direction", Deputy Defence Minister Alexander Fomin told reporters.

Russia has agreed to meet Kiev half-way and will allow a meeting of its leaders to be held on the same day that the final version of a peace treaty is pre-approved by the two nation’s foreign ministers, Moscow’s top negotiator said on Tuesday, after a new round of talks in Istanbul.

Previously, Moscow had insisted that a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky could only be set after the deal would be finalized.

Vladimir Medinsky described the talks in Turkey as 'constructive' and said his delegation had received a clearly outlined position on what it sought to achieve. The proposal will be relayed to Putin, he said.

Coinciding with Medinsky’s statement to the press, the Russian defense ministry announced it was drastically reducing its military operations in some parts of Ukraine, including near the capital, Kiev. The ministry cited “the talks moving into the practical dimension,” as the reason for the change.

David Arakhamia, Medinsky’s opposite number in the Ukrainian delegation, said Kiev had sought a security guarantee from a number of nations that would work not unlike NATO’s mutual self-defense commitment.

He named the UK, China, the US, Turkey, France, Canada, Italy, Poland and Israel as possible guarantors, and claimed some of them have given their preliminary agreement to serve in that capacity.

Not a fan of this, Russia will still be maliciously sanctioned and the Ukronazis come out of this even stronger and NATO rolls right in.

Maybe the summary from RT is of poor quality.
    But this seems really weird.
The Donbass cauldron was set to be obliterated next week.
    Mariupol this week.
Then Russia was free to advance across the whole East.

How can you deal with vermin like Nazis?
It was done several times before. They rearmed, got far stronger and far more dangerous.
The concept was that it needs deNazification, deAmericanisation, de-Ukrainian Fascist "nationalism".

RT was pretty scary reading if u ask me.
All those lives just for the Donbass, which could have been taken in 10 minutes a few years ago.
Infact all of Bandera-stan wouldn't have taken long.

What happens with the Nazis? Back to power? Russian language, media, human rights for HALF the population or more? None of this is mentioned!

Putin played "Gandhi" from 2014 to 2022. What happened? It all got far far worse.
Why should a single Ru troop leave?

The hohol guy who was born in Sochi and of "Georgian" descent seemed rather pally in body language terms in the photo, esp the small distance apart. Yet he still wore the Banderite style black.

6yrs ago, Russia could have taken Kiev in a day. 2022 and the Bandera-filth had hostages at the ready before Russia even popped over the border.

This is a very puzzling situation. ANd has been for 8 yrs. I've been a huge fan of Putin, but this job has to be finished as I see it. U dont just go from "complete deNazification" to "Oh lets just have the Donbass free". I could see a hardliner in Russia considering the next steps..

The analysts I listen to point to mistakes on the side of the Russian leadership about the civilian response in Banderastan.
Apparently there was an expectation of more support which would not require military administration. This is a prime
reason for not taking over every major city since it would suck up a lot of resources. The new approach is to install
military-civilian administrations and this will take time so the "ceasefire" appears to be related to this. Also, we have
the worsening situation for civilians which requires quick action. Running the military operation to completion will take
several weeks if not months so this problem has to be addressed in parallel.

They already "scaled back" operations by Kiev once they established solid pressure there, so they could focus on the south and east. I don't understand where the alleged concessions are.
