I mean honestly what are they finally going to do? Bring up twice as much artillery? Use the current fielded ones more? Send in Su-34s in waves for carpet bombing? Whip out all of the stored Tochkas and start salvoing them at fortified positions? They've really been just half-assing it this whole time?

Put it this way, how many ISIS and Al Nursa members did Russia and Syria capture in their Anti-Terrorist Operation? 

Turning this from an SMO to a ATO means that every SBU operative, Neonazi Battalion member, Mercenary and possibly the AFU itself gets branded as terrorists and treated as such. In other words, extermination will become the priority and capture a very distant second.

Of course theyve been half assing it the whole time if that's how you want to put it. No command centers were touched. No communications infrastructure was touched. Nobody important was assassinated. They went into an offensive operation 1:1. So they were short handed by a factor of 2.

Speaker of the LPR People’s Council (legislature) Denis Miroshnichenko said on Tuesday that the referendum on unifying with Russia will be held in the republic on September 23-27. Later, DPR head Denis Pushilin also announced that such a referendum will be held in the DPR in the same period. The referendums on joining Russia in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions will also be organized on the same dates.
