Minefields of Russia on the way of the offensive slow down and destroy the Armed Forces of Ukraine, - New York Times.
➨ Ukrainian doctors report that mines have surpassed artillery as the main cause of injuries. And if we are talking about a plastic mine, then its fragments in the body of soldiers are very difficult to detect - they are not "seen" by medical metal detectors.
➨ Last week, a doctor named Vladimir amputated both hands of a mine-clearing specialist who was injured while trying to deactivate a booby trap.
➨ Russian anti-tank mines also stop the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, although personnel survive when detonated. But the car itself cannot go further.
➨ The sergeant, whose BPM was blown up in this way, received a new car - and the damaged one was sent for repairs to Poland.
➨ But mines are only the first problem. As they advance, Ukrainian soldiers move beyond the range of some of their air defense systems and become vulnerable to Russian attack helicopters.
➨ Therefore, while the Armed Forces of Ukraine "have not broken through the main lines of defense of the Russians." http://t.me/RVvoenkor

Zlatti71 @djuric_zlatko . 45m Speaker Ignat assured Ukrainians that air defense will continue to shoot down missiles on their homes
The speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, said that Ukrainian air defense cannot shoot down Russian drones and missiles away from residential buildings. Therefore, installations will continue to be installed in densely populated areas.
According to him, air defense systems have to be placed as close as possible to populated areas, otherwise the RF Armed Forces will be easier to detect gaps in the defense and strike.
In fact, the Kiev regime turned ordinary residents of the country into a "human shield" and hostages.

The amount of nonsense that goes around English speaking Russia watching is unreal. There are seriously ppl who seem to think that Russia is far behind Nato in satellite mapping. There's even some blockheads who are spreading this theory that China started helping Russia in this field recently and that is the reason for Russia's more recent success.
I only mention this because I ran across a video that shows Russia was the best at mapping in Stalins day and shows how they have been making detailed maps from space since Kruschevs time. Maps that show command bunkers, trenches down to the last detail. Yes, the video is made by silly British tossers but it does get the point across.

According to the creator of the "Lancets" Alexander Zakharov, he needed a segway to go around all the production shops. "Two hundred thousand are already ready, another million are on the way" (C).
Not only was the production of well-known kamikaze drones tripled, but the Lancet itself, as expected, "mutated" into its next stage of development - "Izdeliye-53". According to Alexander Zakharov, a new launcher was made for the new drone, and the kamikaze UAV itself is planned to be used in the Swarm of Drones concept for strikes against group targets: one Lancet, having noticed armored vehicles or their accumulation, transmits information to the rest of the drones, after what they destroy targets. crests have a new "butt pain"

In Ukraine, they complain about the superiority of Russia in drones
Ukrainian volunteer Maria Berlinskaya said that there is a threat of defeat for Ukraine due to Russia's advantage in FPV drones.
According to her, cited by the Ukrainian media, at first Ukraine "effectively used drones," but Russia concentrated resources on this direction and pulled ahead. Now Ukraine produces 10 thousand FPV drones monthly, and Russia, according to Berlinskaya, 45-50 thousand each.
“If we don’t do it technologically, we are going into defeat, which will be called a truce. I want to be wrong, but at such a pace we will have to sit down at the negotiating table not later than in a year,” says Berlinskaya, who heads the so-called “Air Intelligence Support Center”.
She wasn't the only one who started talking about such a problem for the potheads. Her colleague Lyubov Shipovich said that Russia is investing heavily in the production of UAVs.
"They import components from China, they just give them to engineers by trucks, they say:" Collect! "Russia quickly launched a standardized ammunition for UAVs. There is no need for the Russian military to collect ammunition with their hands: they took it out of the box, attached it, flew away, "Shipovich said. In addition, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine "does not purchase FPV drones at all" , only the Ministry of Digital Transformation does this.
“It helps manufacturers to get permission to operate (which allows them to officially buy a specific type of UAV from the company). But even to get this permission, some manufacturers go through a commission for three months,” says the volunteer.
They are only now beginning to reach. It seems that the defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye direction has sobered up some people in Ukraine.

Actually if there is no oil or shells on the path, apfsds will just make a small hole and go through the vehicle.
Light vehicles can easily survive a hit of apfsds. Even crew won't be injured.
Well it's moving so fast that it can ignite the air inside the vehicle. If there's anybody in the personnel compartment..
Even if the vehicle is quite light whatever it hits will be vaporised and thus there will be cloud of plasma created. This is why they wear anti flash clothing quite often in vehicles.
Russian Jamming: A Vulnerability of the GPS Location System - The Economist
Ukraine heavily relies on Excalibur precision-guided artillery rounds and GMLRS rockets. However, the Russian forces have consistently disrupted the location systems of these weapons, even affecting models that were believed to be invulnerable to such interference.
The GPS satellite radio signals, can be disrupted by adversaries using competing radio noise. Military-grade US versions of GPS employ "m-code," a military signal, and certain systems are equipped with directional antennas that are angled towards the signal source, as well as noise filters to mitigate jamming attempts. However, leaked Pentagon reports in the spring indicated that even some American weapons specifically designed to counter jamming have failed to hit their intended targets in Ukraine.
The article goes on to describe alternatives such as "inertial navigation" as used by "Geran" drones as well as "TERCOM" or "terrain-contour matching" allegedly used by "Lancet" drones.

latti71 @djuric_zlatko Ukraine will receive SCALP missiles. How are they different from Storm Shadow: Analysis of the Military Chronicle
At first glance, they do not differ from the Storm Shadow missiles already transferred to Ukraine, but in fact, the French missiles have a number of important features.
What are the differences?
The compartment in the central part of the rocket is designed to accommodate a payload weighing up to 700 kg, while the Storm Shadow uses a warhead of 450 kg. As a missile warhead, in addition to a high-explosive penetrating charge, a cluster charge with MIFF anti-tank mines, MUSPA anti-personnel mines, and KRISS submunitions can be used to destroy airfield runways
Guidance system
For security reasons, the French did not install the NAVSTAR satellite navigation system, developed in the USA, on their modification of the rocket. Therefore, SCALP is aimed at the target using an autonomous inertial system. In flight, the missile is corrected by a radar visor, and an infrared homing head is activated 2 km from the target. When attacking critical targets, the onboard processor also calculates the optimal dive angle
Is it difficult to find it?
The body of the rocket is made of composite materials with the intersection of flat surfaces without sharp edges at the joints and is covered with radio-absorbing material. The blades of the engine turbine are shielded from the radiation of ground-based radars by a special curved air duct. It is also difficult to detect a missile because it flies at an altitude of about 100-150 m, and immediately before the attack of the SCALP object it “dives” up to 50 m. Nevertheless, Russian air defense systems have long learned to hit them. In Ukraine, several Storm Shadow missiles have already been shot down - the wreckage of one of them was found and delivered to Russia for study. The secret of successful anti-missile work is the use of S-300V, S-400 air defense systems and Pantsir-S1 air defense systems, which are effective in combating cruise and ballistic missiles
