Head of Roscosmos Rogozin: the rendezvous system test on the Nauka module flying to the ISS was successful.
MOSCOW, July 25 - RIA Novosti. Testing of the Kurs rendezvous system on the Nauka multipurpose laboratory module flying to the International Space Station (ISS) took place normally, said Dmitry Rogozin , General Director of Roscosmos .
Earlier, the test was postponed from July 24 to 25, so the undocking of the Pirs module from the ISS was moved to July 26.
"At the 62nd orbit, we regularly conducted a test of the" Course "system of the" Science "module, - Rogozin wrote in Telegram.
Prior to the docking of Nauka, the ISS node must release the Pirs module, which will be undocked by the Progress MS-16 cargo vehicle and de-orbited. This operation has been postponed for three days since 23 July.
The Nauka module was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome by the Proton-M carrier rocket on July 21. Its docking with the ISS is scheduled for July 29.
Earlier in a number of Russian and foreign online media there was information about the malfunctions of the module's systems. However, later Roskosmos reported that the module's propulsion systems had been worked out routinely.
In case of emergency, the Science module is insured for 9.2 billion rubles by AlfaStrakhovanie.
The Pirs module was launched and docked to the ISS in 2001. It was used for spacewalks from the Russian segment of the station.
