65 or not, he would have been granted a more dignified retirement plan, than a sudden demotion post inspection from the head of the Pacific Fleet to being in charge of military sports - had his fleet proved to be in a decent state. Clearly it ain't. But after the Moskva nothing surprises me any more. Spent his duty hours keeping his armchair warm or relaxing in the banya, more than likely. Never-mind there's a war on. And there's a lot more Admirals like that where he came from.

Yes getting personnel right is important

More money can be allocated to the fleet but only after clear review of the personnel and planning structures

Putin's remark probably means that the fleet may be used to somehow aid the PRC in the upcoming Taiwan crisis.

I suspect Putin is smart enough to realise that the US might not actually go for the obvious and might actually want Japan to try to take back its northern Islands and for Georgia to attack South Ossetia and for Finland to try to reclaim land they think belongs to them... all at once...

He is probably smart enough to know the west is desperate and really doesn't know what it is doing so expect anything at all... the US has blown up German gas pipes... who is to say they wont blow up Japanese pipes from Russia too.

The US are the irrational actors they claim other countries are and right now who knows what they might do.

    To Franco....

I hope that those submarines are nearing the end of their modernization and that they are K-132 Irkutsk (949AM), K-328 Leopard (971M).
I assume that the work should then be near the end on the K-461 Volk (971M). I am convinced that among those submarines B-138 Obninsk (671RTMK) is included, as well as the B-448 Tambov, which is also a submarine of the 671RTMK project.
All other submarines are likely to be nearing the end of their overhaul in the next year or the next few years.

As for the ships, I hope that this is the end of the modernization work for Admiral Chabanenko and Admiral Nakhimov.

Today is the birthday of the most powerful Russian fleet.

    May 31, 23:23
The Northern Fleet of Russia celebrates the 290th anniversary of its creation

Soon, the latest Project 22350 frigate "Admiral Golovko" will join its fleet.

MOSCOW, June 1. /TASS/. The operational-strategic formation of the Navy (Navy) Northern Fleet celebrates on Thursday the 290th anniversary of its creation. In the near future, Russia's largest fleet will become even more powerful - its fleet will be replenished by the latest Project 22350 frigate Admiral Golovko, armed with Zircon hypersonic missiles. In 2024, the heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov and the heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser Admiral Nakhimov, which are completing their modernization, will return to combat duty.

The Northern Fleet is the only association that has unique ships of the oceanic zone - the heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser of project 1143.5 "Admiral Kuznetsov" of the Fleet of the Soviet Union and the heavy nuclear missile cruiser of project 1144.2 "Pyotr Veliky". The aircraft carrier will return to combat service next year after the completion of repairs and modernization at the Sevmash shipyard. In 2024, the fleet will be strengthened by the Project 1144.2 heavy nuclear missile cruiser Admiral Nakhimov, which is also completing a major overhaul and deep modernization at the plant in Severodvinsk.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in the near future, the carrier of sea-based hypersonic weapons, the Project 22350 frigate Admiral Golovko, built at the Severnaya Shipyard, will complete tests and enter the combat fleet. Today, the Severomorians have two units of this project - the frigates "Admiral of the Fleet Gorshkov" and "Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov". Earlier, the commander of the Northern Fleet, Admiral Alexander Moiseev, told reporters that by 2033, the carriers of long-range high-precision weapons, including hypersonic weapons - Project 22350 frigates, will form the basis of the fleet's general-purpose forces.

The Northern Fleet has a powerful submarine force, which includes 7 strategic submarines: nuclear-powered submarines of project 667BDRM "Dolphin", projects 955 "Borey" and 955A "Borey-A". It is the Borei, according to Admiral Moiseev, that in the coming decades will be the basis of naval strategic nuclear forces. Today in the Navy they are represented by the lead cruiser Yuri Dolgoruky and the modernized missile carrier Prince Vladimir. In the future, they will be joined by the nuclear-powered ships Prince Pozharsky, Dmitry Donskoy and Prince Potemkin, which are being built at the Sevmash shipyard.

The basis of the general-purpose submarine forces of the Northern Fleet in the future will be nuclear submarines of project 885M Yasen-M and diesel-electric submarines of projects 636.3 Varshavyanka and 677 Lada. The Severomorsky Yasenis are represented by the lead ship of project 885 Severodvinsk and the nuclear-powered vessel Kazan built according to the modernized project 885M. Already next year they will be strengthened by Arkhangelsk, and then by Ulyanovsk and Voronezh. The Russian Defense Ministry also signed contracts for the construction of six submarines. At the Admiralty Shipyards, three boats of project 636.3 and three boats of project 677 - Velikie Luki, Vologda and Yaroslavl - will be built for the North Sea submariners.

The day of the Northern Fleet was established by order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Felix Gromov, dated July 15, 1996. By order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Viktor Chirkov, dated May 25, 2014, it was determined that the Northern Fleet was formed in 1733. The period of the creation of a military port in Arkhangelsk and the construction of a squadron of ships, whose area of responsibility was the White and Barents Seas, was taken as a basis.

I wonder .... what about to Konstantin Olshansky BDK-56 ??

It is possible that the Ukrainians broke the engines before being captured, but it would be a good reinforcement, especially considering that there are very old pr.1171 "alligator" boats that need replacement, one even was lost in the war

Former ships of the Ukrainian Navy in Sevastopol handed over for disposal
    https://bmpd.livejournal.com/4710410.html

According to the Black Sea Fleet Telegram channel , the dismantling of a number of former ships and boats of the Ukrainian naval forces that have remained in Sevastopol and Donuzlav since the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation in March 2014 has begun in Sevastopol. For nine years they were on the sludge.

Former ships and boats of the Ukrainian Navy delivered to the ship-breaking base in Inkerman in Sevastopol - from left to right: Project 12411T missile boat "Pridniprovya", Kherson artillery boat (former project 1388 torpedo launcher), Project 266M sea minesweeper Chernigiv, corvette " Khmelnytsky" of project 12412, sea minesweeper "Cherkasy" of project 266M, corvette "Lutsk" of project 1124MU. Far left - decommissioned sea minesweeper project 266M of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy (apparently, "Electric"), June 2023 (c) Telegram channel "Black Sea Fleet"

The channel provides photographs of former ships of the Ukrainian Navy transferred to the ship-breaking base in Inkerman - corvettes "Lutsk" of project 1124MU and Khmelnitsky " of project 12412, sea minesweepers "Cherkasi" and Chernigiv " of project 266M, missile boat Pridniprov'ya " of project 12411T and artillery boat "Kherson" (former torpedo project 1388).

In turn, according to the Zen channel "Morskoy", in the center of the city of Sevastopol, in the South Bay, the floating crane of the Black Sea Fleet PK-3100 prepared to disassemble the floating crane of the Navy "

reported that "Ukrainian warships that have remained in Crimea since 2014 have been transferred for disposal. Izvestia was informed about this on June 9 by sources in the military department."

According to the channel "Morskoy", "the reason for the decisions taken is very simple. Over the past 9 years, this scrap metal has been constantly rearranged from one berth to another, because it interfered with the daily activities of the Black Sea Fleet. It was also necessary to allocate constant funding for the maintenance of this fleet. Russia the fleet is large. And there are not enough free berths for "non-combatant" units. And even more so money. The situation no longer allows the ships to be returned to the previous owners. Therefore, there was only one way out - to put them on pins and needles.

According to Morskoy, the only thing that can be of value is the Kremenets tugboat . The ship was built in Finland for the Soviet Navy. The Finns built well. Shortly before 2014, he underwent repairs and could continue to serve in the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation. All other ships are too old and dilapidated, they do not represent any value for the Russian Navy. "

In total, 19 former ships, boats and vessels of the Ukrainian Navy remained in Crimea by the beginning of 2022:

St. Petersburg, June 22 - RIA Novosti. All under construction and new frigates and corvettes will be armed with Zircon hypersonic missiles, Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Admiral Nikolai Evmenov told RIA Novosti at the International Naval Show in Kronstadt."
"The frigate-type ships under construction and laid down will be armed with Zircons. Corvettes too," the source said.
He noted that the Navy does not abandon the cruise missiles "Onyx" and "Kalibr". According to Evmenov, they proved their high reliability.

In February, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that mass deliveries of Zircon sea-based hypersonic missiles to the Armed Forces would begin in 2023.

Romania is nervous about Moscow's plans to create an Azov naval flotilla based in Mariupol as part of Russia's Black Sea Fleet.

Romanian experts indicate that the flotilla will include small missile ships of the Karakurt type, which carry Caliber cruise missiles, and remind that these missiles of the Russian Armed Forces strike at Ukrainian military facilities.

The Azov Flotilla will interact with the Caspian Flotilla through the Volga-Don Canal. This will give Russia room to maneuver in the waters of the two seas and strengthen control over the Black Sea region. It is this fact that annoys Bucharest.

The Black Sea has been declared a foreign policy priority by Romania, as it enters the outside world through the Black Sea. Bucharest's emphasis on maritime culture in Romania aims to nurture Romanians' maritime traditions and aspirations in order to make the country a leader in Southeast Europe. This can only be achieved by damaging Russian influence in the region. The appearance of the Azov military flotilla will confuse all the cards for the Romanian strategists.

    Romanian experts indicate that..

The Azov Sea is an inland sea of Russia, it has nothing to do with Romania

Romanians "experts" are pretty illiterate, maybe they should look at a map to see that Sevastopol is much closer to Romania than Mariupol, and when the Odessa region passes into Russia, they'll have the Russian Navy coming up the Danube
