Yes, Russians do not hate Ukrainians and considering that these lands are full of ethnic Russians as well it makes no sense to engage in total
war to max out civilian casualties. But the approach of setting up a front and having the Kiev regime fling its forces against it is exceptional.
NATzO planners probably expected Russia to land grab and then have a massive exposure in the rear where Banderite swine would transition
into guerilla tactics like they did right after WWII. NATzO planning failed.

BTW, many of my Russian and Ukrainian acquaintances (some of which are family) have gone from being liberals, you know the die-hard "stop the war, stop Putin, stop the Kremlin" type, to adherents of the aforementioned "THD" standpoint in two years. And that is not because of the effectiveness of Russian propaganda (as if that was ever a thing in Russia anyway) -- if anything it's because of their constant exposure to western ditto and how the lies and ulterior motives became so freaking obvious over time.

People often joke, really: Russian state-sponsored propaganda sure does exist, but it's so laughably bad and nobody gives a damn about it. It's basically just a waste of money for the Kremlin, they never did "soft power" right.

Western state-sponsored propaganda is such a well-oiled machine that not only does the vast majority of Europeans and Americans believe it with no questions asked, even a lot Russians believed it until quite recently. The last veneer of supposed objectivity and altruism finally fell off the other year and it is now them who are laughing at us for being the truly propagandized victims.

When I am in Europe I for some reason can't read desert-dry, matter-of-fact press releases on RIA without using a VPN, but when I am in Russia I can freely read loads of ridiculous stuff on BBC, CNN etc etc. It's amazing how backwards it really has become.

Sorry guys, it's kinda off-topic but this dynamic has been so obvious to me for a while and I just felt like writing it down.

The cope cages , everyone uses them and laughs at them . Then why not sanction a design officially ? An anti- drone design ?  I was thinking of inflatable pads to bounce off the slow drones , not allowing impact fuse to work ! And if it works , well it is still creating a stand-off  distance reliably , without being cumbersome ? So they collect blood for the Nazis ? I guess they need only O- negative and no B- positive blood groups  ? I still do not understand why SAM systems can not be buried for protection ? With vertical launch tubes under the Earth ? Only Radar needs to be above ground , and it could be replaced ? Thinking about post-war arrangements ? GarryB said that Odessa population will not accept being part of Ukraine , they hate each other too much ! And I think this to be true . However much we want to think otherwise . Although territory is being gained with a mixed population , then mass movements become inevitable given realities . The populations will separate .

    B- positive !

Objectively, the nations and countries that were de facto privileged, saved, or supported by the Russian Empire in it's entire history, are in some of the cases the most Russkie eaters now.
The problem with most of these countries is that Russia didn´t keep them.
They were granted independence and most of them became the stooges of some other big power a few years down the road.
    Solution: Keep the land.
    Put military installations there.
    Someone doesn´t like it?
    Bad luck!

they never did "soft power" right.
Hard power turns into soft power.
    Just look at Africa.

So, a big drone protected house tank with strong EW and mine roller, to lead assaults could be a new thing.
    House tank?
    Please not a Maus, again.

Haha I predicted this a few months ago. It makes sense. It should be set up so that the drone follows them in a tight group. Anyone runs they all die. It then voice guides them to to intake point. Would be great for tanks as well with a electro mag lock that blows up if you try to remove it.

    All of them.
Every single one of them, created their propaganda load to justify the common interactions.
And that is the problem - it is why a negative picture exists in every single one of them, creating a whole matrix where an exit is hardly visible.

I heard drones now can direct POW to surrender ! By loudspeakers ! Or they can take prisoners ! Guide them across ! I think good plan for Russia to do this . It can even dispense individual password / key for identification , and better conditions for release .

I think Russia also needs to make laser guided rockets for the helicopters which can operate at that range.

When the article above yours says:  "They switch to the long range S-8, and then ATGMs. "

I suspect they are lofting rockets at very long range to hit area targets like dispersed troops and material... and then when they get closer they engage individual point targets with ATGMs.

In such a case they would not  need a lot of laser guided unguided rockets and it would be obvious when they were being used because they would still loft them into the air but would only fire one rocket at a time if it was laser guided.

Note most helicopters don't seem to carry a full load of rockets in their rocket pods and nor do they carry a full load of ATGMs either, which suggests the computer game idea of fully arming with everything and flying around the front line is not a good way to fight in a modern battlefield.

Commentators argue that there is still a significant presence of pro Ukrainian sympathizers in Crimea that could be providing intel to NATO. If this is true, Russia needs to tighten the noose on these Terrorists.

They will likely be monitored and tracked down... in any place with millions of people there are always a few dickheads.

    NATzO planning failed.

HATO logistics was terrible... why would their planning be any better?

A bit more on the Armadillo tank. It looked as if it was being used to mine clear all the roads.

If you look carefully they have included wood and other materials in its construction... in terms of thermal signature wood would be a rather good material if you didn't want to stand out too much.

Boris in one of those moments when he says the truth.

The west is over... the result in Ukraine is irrelevant... Russia is bleeding the west as much as they are bleeding Kiev.

Boris is described by a British comedian as being a shart, which is a combination of a shit and a fart... basically it is when you fart and you shit yourself. He described Boris as funny, but he is such an idiot you have to check to make sure there is no "damage". Sharting is now to be called doing a Boris Johnson...

He said he was funnier when he didn't have a lot of power because it limited the amount of damage he could do.

In this case the damage has been done and he is just the cheerleader.

The power of western soft propaganda consists of two main pillars. It is the consistency and a load.

Western soft power balances on two pillars... information control... the British commonwealth are all fearful of evil Russia and then the evil Soviet Union and now evil Russia again and anything to the contrary is Russian propaganda... the west doesn't do propaganda you see... they tell the truth... from all angles so say the BBC... yet the RT angle is not allowed and never reported on the BBC.  The other pillar is the US dollar.... corruption and bribery... which is also used to control western media to make sure the truth never escapes... the internet has put a spanner in that works and of course maintaining a corruption scheme that is world wide leads to 34 trillion in debt and counting.

It didn't start with Putin, not even with the Revolution, but consists of more than a millennium of civilization clash.

We have a harbour gun that was built with local money because we thought the Royal Navy would not be able to protect us from the Russians. It was built in about 1889 so you can't say it was anything to do with communism or the Japs or the Germans etc etc.

    On expected lines

You can bet they enjoyed killing him... Mad

I heard drones now can direct POW to surrender ! By loudspeakers ! Or they can take prisoners ! Guide them across !

The Orcs want to kill as many as they can. Most drones wouldn't have the battery life for that sort of thing.... drop a grenade and then head back to be recharged and reused. Suicide drones would definitely not have the battery capacity for round trips.

    https://www.rt.com/news/596146-poland-tanks-ukraine-mystery/

It is unclear how many tanks of the Soviet T-72 design the Polish military currently operates, because the public doesn’t know how many Warsaw has donated to Kiev, military analyst Damian Ratka has said.

Ratka’s comments came during an 80-minute video event about the future of Polish armor, hosted by the news portal Defence24.

“We don’t really know how many T-72 tanks we have, because we don’t know exactly how many of them were transferred to Ukraine,” Ratka said. Kiev probably received at least 30 to 60 vehicles, but the actual numbers are not publicly available, he added.

Ratka’s estimates match what then-PM Mateusz Morawiecki promised to send Ukraine in January 2023: 60 tanks in total, half of them T-72M1 and the other half PT-91 Twardy, the Polish upgrade of the Soviet-era MBT. However, at the time Morawiecki also said that Poland had supplied “about 250” T-72s to Ukraine.

You'll have to forgive RTN, he only posts here after he fails his GEDs (damn. for as bad as the education system is in Connecticut and as prevelant as social promotion is, he should have been able to graduate years ago). Poor prick just wants to join the army but alas no GED, no dice. Then again its probably for the best because his drill sergeant would probably just frag him much to the delight of the rest of the people in his training class. He's also a racist. Yeah, he finds a twitter and says well he might be Asian. Typical American paternalistic racist (the worst kind). Poor stupid bastard in his mama's basement. RTN, forget the GED. I understand that this is the last ditch weapon against FVP. I wonder what kind of shot will be used? buckshot? anything smaller?

The Russian Armed Forces presented a training method for combating UAVs using shotguns

Military personnel of the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation in the special operation zone presented a technique for training in combating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) using shotguns, Izvestia correspondent Semyon Eremin said on April 17.

The training process for military personnel consists of three stages: controlling UAVs using a laser, recognizing drones by ear, and firing a shotgun.

“Who would have thought that such items - from clay pigeon shooting, hunter training - would be in demand by the army,” the journalist commented.

As Eremin found out, the most effective weapons for fighting drones are the Saiga and Vepr semi-automatic shotguns.
    []
In turn, the unit commander with the call sign Beard emphasized that the method of combating drones developed by the army is extremely simple and provides a high level of safety for the soldiers of the entire artillery crew

I would say, it is all about duck shooting.
Usually, the duck shooting range is 15-20m.
Sure you can try a longer range, but ...
Hunters have their own discipline of that - and it can be perfectly applicable.
I have never hunted ducks, so just repeat what I heard - but I guess it applies perfectly. scratch

From what I hear on Internet it may be something that may have similar or a longer range than the civillian bird-hunting long-barrel shotgun, which used to be deployed as a temporary solution before the specialized versions of anti-UAV shotgun were manufactured.

Probably smaller pellets, the ones for bird-hunting, are used as well, becase you need more pellets to increse the chance of hit, and the pellet do not need to penetrate the armour, but need to hit the unarmoured rotors, rotor blade, and gaps between the UAV's covers.

That is what I heard. Neutral Neutral Neutral
