R-60 dead range is 300m, R-73 slightly more.
It won't arm itself and hit at closer range.
Staying closer than that keeps you safe anyway.
Very good until they find out those drones carry 250kg explosives with thousands of shrapnels that will destroy anything flying that close when destroyed.

Still unclear how the Ukrainians wanted to use that missile(s).
Most people believe it was just to shoot without lock by the infrared. Others think it was to be used for shooting with hope that the infrared guidance will lock on something at sea or on shore while the missile is in flight.
Others think it is just an extra amount of explosive if the kamikaze boat hits something.
The R-73 is mounted on an upside down launch rail - so it's supposed to be launched. A likely target would be the very helicopter that destroyed this kamikaze. Desperate stuff indeed!

The fact that they are putting R-73s on their drones suggests they don't see any value in putting them on their fighters... which seem to be getting picked off by SAMs and long range AAMs launched by aircraft in different area codes.
The sea drones are designed to destroy ships so fragments wouldn't be very useful... more explosive would be more valuable to such a drone because the bigger the hole you put into the side of what you are attacking the more likely it is to sink.
The angle from which fragments would be ejected would not make them very effective against helicopters even helicopters as close as 300m.
A helicopter with a 30mm cannon or 23mm cannon pods would likely open fire at 500-800m and the rate of fire of the 23mm cannon pods should give enough of a spread to make any manouvers by the boat redundant.
I would guess it would be a case of hitting it hard enough and having enough ammo for the number being sent at a time.
I sounds like they were sending a dozen at a time to get one close to a real target...

If they are doing it to add explosive power to the drones then that is a bit self defeating because the propellant would be horribly vulnerable to even rifle calibre machine gun fire which would start a fire that could destroy the drone before it hits anything.
They are making their drones easier to destroy.

That is after the drone was destroyed
They set the photo up like that after when Russia collected pieces of the destroyed drone
Before that both missiles were facing forward able to lock on before launch with an APU ready to give power to start launch

It is the same missile. Tore to two pieces by a warhead detonation. It is broken exactly at the warhead section.
Take a look at the vid made from heli - only one missile is there, the one on the left.

America is treating its puppet states like completely dispensable trash for nothing, because at best Lithuania could delay Russia's victory by a few weeks.

If Russia treated Ukrainian cities like Gaza, this whole thing would have ended in 2023
If Russia treats Baltics like Gaza, shit would end in less than a month

You ever see a chihuahua? Nasty little dog, puffed up and prideful and barks a good game, but zoologically speaking its a member of the pillow family so God help if it gets in a fight with a real dog. In the same way the Balts are not real countries, they talk a lot of crap, but diplomatically speaking they are useless and so is their military.

Wishing all the best to Ukrainian common people. They should not be the victims of a puppet fascist regime installed by the West.

Ukrainian army recruiters ‘abduct’ pro footballer – club
FC Khust says the move threatens the sport’s survival in Ukraine
Football clubs from around Ukraine are refusing to travel to Transcarpathian Region for games after recruiters snatched a key player of FC Khust from the local train station, the club said in an appeal for public support.
Nikolay Sirash was at the Khust train station on Tuesday when conscription enforcers seized him, the club said in a Facebook post. Sirash had just turned 25, but the new rules allowing the mobilization of men under 27 have yet to go into effect, the club noted.
“We have no contact with the player at the time, and his fate is unknown,” said FC Khust.

Most importantly there is no reason for Russia to treat hostile HATO countries the way they are treating the Ukraine, there is no reason to be nice to HATO countries.

Well that would be a mistake... the missiles should be pointing backwards because the helicopters would probably approach from behind and match their speed so it is an easier shot...

The laser proximity fuse section is visible, I don't think the warhead has been set off... I doubt it was even launched... It just looks like the missile has been split in two.

Russian troops eliminated “the best sniper in France”
As a result of a missile attack on the location of foreign mercenaries in Kharkov, Ernesto Barbieri, considered the best sniper in France, was killed.
Barbieri served in the elite Alpine Jaeger battalion, and later joined the so-called “Foreign Legion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces”.
As part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the officer has participated in combat operations against Russian troops since March 2022.
The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed a protest to the French Ambassador over the participation of French military personnel in battles against Russian troops.
