And here we go again with all this talk of shelters, in which no one advocating for them will bother to address the fact that planes are not going to stay inside shelters 24/7, and that FPV drone operators can simply wait for the moment when the aircraft will be leaving/out of a shelter to attack.

I understand that T-72s and T-64s and AK-74s and so on are perfectly adequate for the task. I'm not saying that all the hardware has to be the latest gen. But surely attaching EW masts to everything is not demanding too much. Nor for equipping every squad with a EW gun. This should have all been done long ago.

EW, I'm afraid, is no silver bullet. As far as I know, it only cuts the line of communication between the FPV and the operator. If finds the right frequency. Considering videos of attacks, this is done in the very last tens of meters. So, with a high-speed dive, it's not really helpful. Besides, not every soldier can use it. Imagine an assault team going to storm a building; if they are spotted, there's little chance of survival. Last but not least, in order to use an EW gun or shotgun, you need to see the FPV first.

Perhaps fighter drones after all?

This message is appearing again today on many Ukrainian TG channels - the Ukrainians are extremely disappointed. 

Only 20 F-16 pilots of the Ukrainian Air Force are to be ready by the end of the year, according to Politico Another year and a half is needed to fully provide the pilots for about 80 F-16s that will be handed over to Ukraine. 

The US Air Force has officially announced that it has no training slots for more than 12 pilots for the period 2023-2024. Denmark will train 8 pilots by the end of the year. 

The solution - international pilots fly Ukraine's F-16s. And why not, the russians also deployed soldiers from many countries.
