Re: The Situation in the Ukraine. #17
Seems this incident is being explained away by Kiev as gang warfare about cigarette smugling, tho it is easy to see their panic. Semenchenko has said words of support for pravy sektor mixed with saying there will not be a civil war. Gerashenko is using contorted language about this and is refering to the police as the attackers, and therefore the guilty party, and that they had three dead, with still the number for pravy sektor as only two. Also unconfirmed reports of large tightening of security in Kiev by government buildings and Poroshenko's office. However, I think this will all calm down by tomorrow, a pity, but at least a preview of the future....

Let's not get too excited over this. This is good development but still a minor incident. We need thousands of Ukrainians fighting against each other instead a few.

auslander wrote:This has been going on since early afternoon. Semi reliable info says it started as an altercation between a local and connected drug gang and RS and escalated. There is a goodly amount of reporting and info on anti-maidan, my stukach has been watching most of the afternoon and evening. There's lots of rumor and conjecture but like Kepesh said, it's too early to form any idea as to who will win.
Porky is already blaming FSB so tomorrow OSCE, PACE and UNSC will try to pass resolutions blaming VVP personally for this.
Personally, after watching what happened in Donbas, now Novorossiya, for the last 15 months, burying 17 of our local boys in that time and we personally losing close friends killed in the bombardments, I hope they tear each other to pieces and in the process destroy half the cities, towns and villages west of the Dnepr. It's about time that what THEIR MEN have been doing in the war against Novorossiya comes home to roost. Fuck 'em.
They armed these Imarat Kavkaz and Pravyj Sektor savages to kill and terrorize the Donbass's population; and now today - 3 postmen in Kharkov have been killed by Imarat Kavkaz Chechens and $2.5 million designated for Ukrainian ATO soldiers' pay and needs has been stolen; and now a shootout in Transcarpathia between local police and Pravyj Sektor.
The chickens are certainly coming home to roost. I hope that tommorow brings more chaos and infighting, and more the day after that. The enemy must be defeated.

Pravy Sektor announced a gathering in Kiev. Either today or tomorrow.
Can you post a link quoting Semencheko?

¿Could someone shed some light about what's happening there?
Edit: the situation is a bit complicated and dynamic and it needs to sit back and watch for a while. There is the beginnings of some panic and Yarosh is shouting for the Mukachevo police to be arrested. The severe internal fault lines in the junta may be about to split wide apart. fingers crossed this may be a spark to bring these scum crashing down in flames.
Sweeeeeeeeeeet!!!!! YES!!! Excelent NEWS!!!
Like like.. This is what we need.. start killing those pravky sektor left and right .
Shoot to kill.. and no one arrested.. kill them all. Those bastards needs to be scared for their lives and not feel safe in Ukraine..
What is now needed is a major declaration in ukie media of a masked group of death sentence
*To ALL * Pravky Sektor.. and that they show support for Euro Integration and Ukraine..
Divide and conquer is the name of the game..
I don't think this is an FSB thing.. excuse.. In fact.. i think Russia Government have been
too nice with the terrorist ultranationalist and should have bribed police to kill on sight anyone
of pravky sektor.. Because Yarosh is a loser leader.. i dont think is a good idea to kill him..
that will only help the ultranationalist to unite.. Ideally it should be ultra nationalist vs ultra nationalist.. the war.. but if not.. then Police vs Ultra nationalist will be ok.. just have to be done
right in a way that seems that police were doing its job ,defending civilians lives and and defending the law..
And this is Just the beginning.. The more Ukraine economy sinks.. the more population will become intolerant to bandits ,and criminals and bandits will become more desperate and do more things like this.. and attack police or steal and rape civilians. Imagine incidents like this
happening every week in ALL cities in ukraine. It will become a major crisis and bring kiev into
the brink of a civil war.. and Police will be the one to Rebel if Kiev continues supporting the bandits..ultranationalist on payroll of US NGOS foreign aid.

Right Sector leader Yarosh calls on to arrest the policemen who opened fire. Anatoliy Sharij explains in his most recent video that if Poroshenko makes any concessions to Right Sector, his grip on power is over.

RIA Novosti quoting the people who gathered before Poroshenko's administration in Kiev:
"Ни Порошенко, ни Аваков, никакие спецслужбы не будут указывать, что нам делать. Мы не просим, мы требуем. Или они выполняют то, для чего их выбирали, или они идут проч"
"Neither Poroshenko, nor Avakov and no law enforcement agency will order us what to do. We don't ask, we demand. Either they do the things they were elected for or they get lost".
I think even if the situation in Mukachevo becomes calm there will be a clear rupture between Right Sector and the government.

Ukraine Wants 1,000 Javelin Systems in Exchange for Nuclear Warheads
Ukraine should have the right to receive at least a thousand US-made anti-tank Javelin missiles in return for nuclear warheads, the country’s newly-appointed Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly said.Javelin is the American portable anti-tank missile system of the third generation, designed to target armored vehicles and low-flying targets.
“We need to understand that we must be prepared for any situation [in the southeast]. And also need to understand that Ukraine, which gave 1,240 nuclear warheads, should have the right to receive, if necessary, at least a thousand Javelins”, Chaly was quoted as saying by Ukraine’s Mirror Weekly newspaper on Friday.
On Thursday, US Joint Chiefs Of Staff Chairman Nominee Joseph Dunford said in his confirmation hearing that it would be “reasonable” to provide Ukraine with anti-tank missiles.
After Kiev began a military operation to suppress independence supporters in Ukraine’s southeast in April 2014, Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly asked western states for lethal aid.
Washington has provided non-lethal military assistance to Ukraine, but has stopped short of providing lethal aid over concerns it would escalate the conflict.
In April, US Ambassador to Russia John Tefft said that the United States was not going to deliver the Javelin system to Ukraine.
The European Union largely opposes Washington arming Ukraine with lethal weapons.

Ideally for Russia.. it will be better if nothing happens and the whole conflict freeze for another year...and Poroshenko start to remove from power all Ultra Nationalist one by one. and eastern Ukraine get a full autonomy ,and representation in kiev and the right to hire their own security.. means the Rebels army in eastern ukraine will be recognized as legitimate by kiev. Because if a civil war start.. millions of more Ukrainians Refugees will move to Russia. and if Poroshenko killed means no more MInsk-2.. valid or they could claim.. and US will want to re-negotiate
that ceasefire agreement.. that have been backed not only by Poroshenko and Kiev parliament,
but by Germany and France and United Nations and Russia.. is a very solid document..that cannot be dismissed so easily.. and legally Binds Ukraine before the end of year.. to Implement
in Full.. So Kiev cannot say is no longer valid because it have the support of UN security council ,and they agreed to do it. It will be bad Public Relations for Poroshenko international relations and position if they reject a resolution signed by International community. And could be used by Russia to justify a limited and temporary military action if Kiev refuse to agree with the cease of fire after 2015.
Ideally for Novorosiya a new civil war should start in kiev and Poroshenko killed.. so they can justify a new offensive and take all Donetsk and Lugansk completely ,including Mariupol.
Ideally for Americans Russia will invade Ukraine ,so that later they can give Russia a new afgan 10 years war and drain Russia economy.. and blame with their media on Russia.. all Ukrainians
problems.
So which one is better.. the thing that Russia wants indeed. Russia wants to capture all
Ukraine not just Donetsk and Lugansk.. and kick the Americans from control of Ukraine forever. That can only happen if Ukraine go bankrupt and Ukrainians have no food to eat..and their new alliance with Americans and Europe are does not improve their quality of life but worsen it ..and all they do.. in case of Americans is fuel the war by providing weapons to the
ultranationalist and Ukie army.
Kiev and americans controlled media will try to blame everything Ukrainians suffer on Russia .To keep control of Ukraine.. But with time ,it will become old and people will realize through family members and friends who crossed to Russia or live in Crimea or Internet Media.. that they committed a mistake by spliting from Russia and that neither americans and europe will help them.. or wants them.. and only are using them.. and finally reach the conclusion ...that their
future is with Russia. This is what will save Ukraine.. that the vast majority of its citizens see the reality.. that Russia is the only one that can truly solve their problems ,restore order. and that there is even a possibility that Russia could take Ukraine back like in soviet times.. and become an autonomous republic.

It is even highly unlikely that Russia 'wanted' Ukraine a couple of years ago when it was a lot better off, due to the financial costs of an ageing population, a mainly clapped out beyond its use by date industry and a mining industry digging very expensive (in terms of lives and the cost of deep mines) coal. Let alone the oligarchal structure in society.
Russia might be asked to step in with a peacekeeping force but that is probably as far as it goes.

They just need to ramp up from 50 to 1000 and have them all ready with equipment and logistics for the front line in 2-3 months. Right on!
Ukraine is set to form a Crimean Tatar battalion and name it “Crimea”; it will be the first volunteer Muslim unit in its Armed Forces, and directly subordinate to the Chief of Staff. Ukraine is set to grant legal status to its volunteer battalion, “Crimea”, and allot it to the country’s Armed Forces, according to the news website Crimea.Realities, a project of the US government funded media outlet Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty targeted at providing its coverage of news related to Crimea.
“The general decision has already been set, per word. We have agreed that the unit will be in direct subordination to the Chief of Staff,” the website quotes the volunteer battalion's commander, Issah Akayev, as saying. The unit will be formed on a contractual basis, the commander added.
The Crimean Tatars will form the basis of the battalion, which will have up to 1,000 servicemen. Currently approximately 50 volunteers are ready to enlist.
The “Crimea” battalion will be the first Muslim unit within the Ukrainian Armed Forces; Akayev, however, added that servicemen of other confessions are also welcome. He added that in 2-3 months, the unit will be sent into the so-called “zone of Anti-terrorist operation”. This is how the country’s military refers to the military conflict in the country's southeast.

Lots more contracts for the 'favoured' ones.
KYIV, July 11 /Ukrinform/. The European Investment Bank is to sign the agreement with Ukraine on allocation of EUR 400 million on July 23.
Deputy Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine on European Integration Roman Chuprynenko said this at the briefing, the Ministry's press service reports. "Another agreement with the European Investment Bank on EUR 400 million will be signed on July 23. The agreement will provide for the development of municipal infrastructure. The funds may be used for drainage, water supply, heat supply, street lighting, energy efficiency of buildings and treatment of household waste," Chuprynenko noted.
And who is going to have the money for these flights? Mind you it could be a valuable escape route for some.
KYIV, July 11 /Ukrinform/. The Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine hopes next week to sign the agreement with the United States on liberalization of air transport between the two countries, which will provide an opportunity to simplify the procedure of flights and to remove a number of restrictions. Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Andriy Pyvovarsky said this at the briefing on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports. "I hope next week I will sign the open skies agreement with the United States," the Minister said.
As a reminder, the State Aviation Service of Ukraine implemented the "open skies" principle in the Lviv airport on April 1, and in the Odesa airport on June 29. The Infrastructure Ministry also intends to sign the open skies agreement with the EU until the end of the year.

Ooops. Jaresko basically pleading with the politicians not to do anything stupid and pass the laws. But the laws contain 'nasty' for them bits.
KYIV, July 11 /Ukrinform/. Ukraine is unlikely to get the second tranche of the International Monetary Fund worth $1.7 billion in July. The Finance Ministry of Ukraine has confirmed this information to Ukrinform. "We are unlikely to get the funds in July," the Ministry said.
The reason is that the Verkhovna Rada failed to pass a number of changes into the legislation, which the IMF insisted on, in due time.
The Finance Ministry hopes that the second tranche will be allocated to Ukraine in August, if the Verkhovna Rada adopts the necessary bills and makes the specified amendments to the effective legislation. The bills, guaranteed to be passed by Ukraine under the memorandum with the IMF, relate primarily to tax, financial and anti-corruption fields.
As well as
KYIV, July 11 /Ukrinform/. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should adopt four laws to open up access to $3.2 billion in aid for Ukraine. Finance Minister of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko has posted this on Facebook.
"Unfortunately, this week we failed to go further in the adoption of four important progressive bills that will help to protect the savings of citizens, improve our economy, energy and power, and which are necessary for further progress in relations with the IMF, the World Bank, as well as for obtaining loans from Japan and Germany," the Minister noted. "We call on members of the Parliament to pass these bills on the first-priority basis on July 14, as soon as the next plenary week starts," Jaresko posted.

I read this today about Viet Nam:
“The enemy will pass slowly from the offensive to the defensive. The blitzkrieg will transform itself into a war of long duration. Thus, the enemy will be caught in a dilemma: He has to drag out the war in order to win it and does not possess, on the other hand, the psychological and political means to fight a long-drawn-out war."
and it made me think about Ukraine/Kiev government...

From today's OSCE report, unequally posted the same day as it reports on. This is a huge increase in activity. Quiet elsewhere they monitored they say.
There was a high level of violence at and around the Donetsk airport. Between 08:00 and 17:45hrs, at the Joint Centre for Control and Co-ordination (JCCC) observation point at Donetsk central railway station (“Donetsk People’s Republic” (“DPR”)-controlled, 8km north-west of Donetsk city centre), the SMM heard 617 instances of weapons fire, including tank, anti-aircraft gun, heavy machine gun, automatic grenade launcher and small arms. This firing was heard 2 - 9km north, north-east and north-west of the SMM’s position.[1]

This firing was heard 2 - 9km north, north-east and north-west of the SMM’s position.[1]

Russia simply can't allow to have a failed state not only in its borders but also inside its borders since Ukraine has always been a winner takes all game.JohninMK wrote:Sorry but what on earth makes you believe that Russia 'wants' the economic and social basket case that is now Ukraine?

I don't know how it would be inside Russia's borders when clearly there are borders between the two countries. I would at that point suggest Russia simply builds a wall, and says no one can go through the Ukrainian border but through only Novorussian sector.
That would help big time, and really, Ukraine was indeed nothing but a large scam of a country, draining Russia's funds.

A bit more on the happenings in Kiev this evening
KIEV, July 11. /TASS/. More and more supporters of the Right Sector extremist organisation are arriving at the centre of Kiev, a TASS correspondent reports at the scene.
Earlier on Saturday, the Right Sector ordered its activists and supporters to gather in front of the presidential administration over the events in the western city of Mukachevo where an armed standoff between the organisation’s militants and law enforcers is underway. Also, the far-right organisation ordered its people to take to streets in the country’s largest cities. In particular, they are demanding Interior Minister Arsen Avakov’s resignation.
At the time of reporting, the number of protesters in front of the building of presidential administration in the centre of Kiev is increasing and the organisers said there had gathered nearly 500 people. Law enforcers refrain from comments on this information.
During the rally the Right Sector militants made attempts to provoke a conflict with police officers, who are cordoning off the scene, calling them "traitors" and offering them to join the rally. The protesters had brought a large drum and are playing it chanting Revolution and Glory to the Nation. The organisers say they are also going to stage a protest in front of the Interior Ministry building.
On Saturday, militants of the Right Sector organisation, banned in Russia, attacked a cafй in a gym owned by a local legislator - Mikhail Lanyo - and a traffic police station in the city of Mukachevo in Trans Carpathia. Unconfirmed reports say there were casualties, when the attack from small arms fire was followed by a shootout between the extremists and law enforcers. The Trans Carpathian Prosecutor’s Office said that three people were killed and another eleven wounded in the attack. The Interior Ministry reported one civilian was among the dead.
At the same time, the Right Sector said its two members were killed and another four were injured.
Law enforcers of Ukraine’s Security Service are engaged in negotiations with the extremists demanding from them to cease fire and to lay down arms.
Ukraine’s President Pyotr Poroshenko ordered the law enforcement agencies "to disarm and detain the criminals who opened fire and killed peaceful civilians in Mukachevo." The Right Sector has alerted its supporters.

Russia not only wants failed state of Ukraine but also needs it because it is one of the phases towards Russia's favorable outcome.
Once Ukraine reaches failed state and spends required number of years/decades in that state, then end phase can be implemented, which is partitioning of that Nazi craphole into more manageable and civilised countries/city-states in very loose de-facto confederacy.

Personally, I don't want to have anything to do with that fail of a country.
Just ensure the safety of the Donbassians; preferably give them an opportunity to reconquer the rest of their oblasts; and then the rest of the Ukraine can live how they wish.
