military maps is showing a Grad bombardment now on Stila which is just to the SE of Dokuchaevsk, but I cannot find any other reference to this.

It is useless to lament or pine for an honest media, it's just not going to happen. The full court press has been on by the media since early November '13 at the latest. No matter who does what with which and to whom, we will be blamed and our bucolic little village will get ever more sanctions from it. So be it.

"Gorlovka Today" did not amend their report until very late in the day and that's why there was doubt and the wrong figure continued to be used. On that certain other forum I see it still being used. I also see the moron "Asheren" is banned. Interestingly that thread was locked down just as something happens, and on another military anglophone forum there is sudden silence about the situation as if people are scared to say anything, and not a single post about Ukraine since Saturday evening. And trolls run riot here, interesting. Anyway, on the "Gorlovka self Defence" poll nearly 11 thousand voted with 75% voting to go on the offensive. 11 thousand is a very good sample, far higher than opinion polls for elections for instance when I think only two thousand is needed to give a reasonable indication of what people think.
That is interesting. So, the Ukraine thread is locked over there??
edited to add, I have 2 on ignore. Their posting has gotten to where it disrupts news on the thread, even if they are on ignore, if ppl respond to them, imho. Don't feed the troll.

Gorlovka area again, at this moment. My lass is communicating with friends and I can hear the thumps and thuds but I don't know which quadrant. Friends state that Donetsk Aerodrome got it again earlier this evening, they don't know if it is ongoing or has stopped. Local time is 20:32.

MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. Seven Ukrainian servicemen were killed in an attempted break through the line of engagement with the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), DPR defense ministry spokesman Eduard Basurin said on Monday.
He told the Donetsk News Agency that the Ukrainian side had lost two tanks, one armored infantry carrier, an anti-tank guided missile system. Seven Ukrainian servicemen had been killed and eleven more wounded, Basurin said.
He said the Ukrainian attempted offensive had been staged near the settlement of Belaya Kamenka on Monday morning. The offensive was preceded by intense tank, mortar and artillery shelling of the settlement of Petrovskoye, Novaya Laspa and Belaya Kamenka.
The DPR self-defense forces repelled the offensive forcing Ukrainian troops to retreat to their initial positions.

Wow.
I had thought there might be another "winter war", or advances in winter. I also had thought that Kiev gov. is trying to play a game of chicken with the rebels, i.e. see who can provoke who into attacking first, and I had the thought that it will be the Kiev gov when the Country goes even more to hell, they will have to do something, and attack is all they have. Just my 2 cents from across the world...far from what's going on, so not the best opinion, probably...
edited to add: "chicken" was a "game" crazy idiots played in Texas when I was young, where persons in 2 different cars drove towards each other head on, and see which one swerves first...maybe it's played world over, idk...

My dear lady, the demonstration in Sevastopol by some ukrops was to be a provocation that turned to violence. The boy filmed in the vehicle never left the vehicle, he was made up by experts to look like he had been savagely beaten by the locals. That is why he was invited to show his noggin when he leaned out the left rear door, Opolchensya wanted to be sure he was not injured, and he was indeed not injured, the blood and bruises were all makeup applied to his poor little gourd. This is the same thing that was done by and to that stupud little prostitute in Kiev last January, supposedly chased down in her POV, beaten half to death and tossed in a roadside ditch. Lovely photos of her with lips the size of Montana were all over the news and net. Problem was 12 hours late she was hiding her face in hospital because the sterile water injected in to her lips had wandered on away and her face was, for her, normal.
What drew the attention of the locals to the SUV with the 'wounded' boy in the back was the blacked out windshield. That was, is and forever will be illegal in this berg and attracted attention of Opolchensya. The SUV turned out to be stolen that morning and the window black was applied shortly after the theft. The driver and the boy are counting trees, as is the owner of the shop that did the blackout.

If it were not for the fact that this is being discussed on the networks, and of course ukrops watch all Basurin's briefings, I would not say anything. But while what he said about ukrops losses is widely reproduced, the beginning of his report is not, simply because it was only date and time. Remind me, today is 10 August, not 30. So perhaps Basurin had 30 August on his mind, something important, wedding anniversary, kids birthday, yes, surely.....

Nearly everyday it is marked on military maps that there is fighting on the frontline between Krasnogorovka and Staromikhailovka, and likely nobody pays attention as it became "normal". But now the head of the administration for Staromikhailovka has reported heavy artillery fire into the center and destruction and casualties. No link for that as some info does not get a source to link to until later.
And on the "Viking" VK page they posted some interesting photos of the fighting today at Belaya Kamenka https://vk.com/public93369497

Indeed, today is 10 August 2015. Easy to remember for us as today is the start of the remembrance of the Kursk sinking, a monument to which is on St. Nikolas grounds. Sevastopol lost 20 men in that disaster.

KIEV, August 9. /TASS/. Kiev’s patrol service has detained Sergey Melnichuk, a member of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (parliament), who is suspected of organizing an armed gang, adviser to the Ukrainian interior minister Zoryan Shkiryak said on Sunday. "Officers of Kiev’s patrol service detained lawmaker Sergey Melnichuk in Kiev! Charges under article 126 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code [beating and torture - TASS]," Shkiryak wrote on his Facebook account.
The Ukrainian interior ministry has provided no comment. The Ukrainian prosecutor general’s office accuses Malnichuk, the former commander of the notorious Aidar paramilitary battalion, of organizing an armed gang from among his soldiers "to attack enterprises, companies, organizations and individuals, and to commit other crimes aimed at taking other’s properties by force." On June 11, 2015, a Kiev district court released him on bail of 365,000 hryvnias ($17,000). On June 3, Malnichuk was stripped of lawmaker’s immunity.

Something must be up, Poro going for political cover.
KYIV, August 10 /Ukrinform/. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has instructed Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin to hold urgent consultations at the level of the foreign ministers of the Normandy Four countries due to more complicated situation in Donbas. The Head of State reported this on Twitter. "Instruct Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin to hold urgent consultations at the level of the foreign ministers of the Normandy Four due to the situation in Donbas," the reports said.
As reported, over the past days there was a significant deterioration in the security situation in Donbas. The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 127 times overnight.

Several thermal power stations have run out of coal (Zmiivska plus another whose name I have forgotten) in mid summer. Yatsenyuk says the situation is catastrophic regarding winter. Ukraine needs to import 800,000 tons of anthracite per month from Donbass.
The UAF have lost 16 wounded on 9 August, 8 on 8 August, 40 on 7 August, 6 on 6 August, another 7 on 4 August, 45 on 3 August and 8 on 2 August. They are usually treated at Dnepropetrovsk or Kharkiv. These two usually treat 2/3 of casualties between them. At this rate the Ukrops could be looking at ~350 wounded this month. Several tanks and APCs have been captured or destroyed. This after all NAF weaponry > 100 mm has been pulled back as per Minsk.

I bet the attacks were on UAF position that were too close to the Minsk contact line, as the UAF have been creeping toward it for months.

Ukrainian military to open retaliatory artillery fire if their positions attacked
Oh of course. Then DNR/LNR must state that they will launch retaliatory strikes if shelled by PUkes.
