    Russian Tu-16os launch Syrian air strike from Kola Peninsula, in far northwest Russia, in a global strike show.

    During the night between Nov. 19 and 20, the Russian Air Force conducted a very long-range strike mission against IS targets in Syria: two Tu-160 Blackjack strategic bombers departed from Olenegorsk airbase, in the Kola Peninsula around 21.00z but, instead of taking the usual route through the Caspian Sea and Iran, went westbound, skirted the airspaces of Norway and the UK, flew over the Atlantic until Gibraltair, entered the Mediterranean sea and flew eastbound towards Syria and then eastbound along the usual corridor, back to Russia.

    Fantastic footage of the Russian Su-30SMs escorting the Tu-160s over the Mediterranean Sea. Between Nov. 19 and 20, two Russian Tu-160 Blackjack bombers launched from northwest Russia for a 13,000km journey around Europe, to launch cruise missiles against ground targets in Syria. During the mission, the aircraft were identified and escorted off UK by RAF Eurofighter Typhoons; however, the British interceptors in QRA (Quick Reaction Alert) were not the only aircraft they met during their long mission: over the Mediterranean Sea they were intercepted and escorted by at least three Su-30SM Flankers launched from Latakia.

    And here’s a really interesting footage showing the rendez-vous between the bombers and their escorts and the subsequent launch of cruise missiles (that seem to be KH-555s).

    why waste an opportunity to make a political point by performing a long range ground attack mission with a strategic bomber Wink

    So looks like 8 Su-34 and 4 Su-27SM3 have been moved to Syria. But let's wait for video confirmation.

    Fuck Paris that just shows that there are to many falling for that false flag.

    French media said a long time ago that the passports were fake, bought in Turkey. What's up with you? There is absolutely no way to implicate Assad into this so your false flag hypothesis holds no steam.

    "Za nashix" = For ours.

    There is an implicit noun in the Russian phrase. In English we have

    ours = our + noun

    In Russian there is no "ours" but there is "our":

    nash = our
    nashi = our (nominative plural)
    nashix = our (genitive and ablative plural)

    Ive been without internet for a couple of days and i come back to see all this russian aviation porn.

    I know war is hell and poor people are dying over there, but by god its amazing to see those birds in action. Tu-160 is the most beautiful combat aircraft , its fantastic to see the footage of them. So graceful, yet so deadly.

    Has russia launched any cruise missiles from subs yet? You KNOW this is the next party trick from russia. And then maybe the kuznetsov will make an appearance and all our fantasies will be fulfilled.

    I do have a uestion about the missiles that are being used by the strategic bombers, its a newby question so dont bite my head off. How are they guided? Do they input the target data into the missile preflight or is it done during flight? Is it possible to change the targets once airborn?

    Obvious crap. They have been about 4%. Be careful in interpreting all those maps showing vast stretches of "rebel controlled"
    territory. There is no contiguous control and strategic points make a big difference. ISIS is in retreat around Aleppo even if
    there is no instant rout.

    Looks like the French are on station and more hell is about to be let loose.

    BEIRUT (Sputnik) — Earlier on Friday, Lebanese Transport Minister Ghazi Zeaiter said Lebanon was unable to satisfy Moscow’s request to reroute civilian aircraft flying over a coastal region over the three-day Russian military drills planned in the Mediterranean, as the country's civil aviation had no alternative routes.

    "Tonight and until Monday we will close the airspace over the Mediterranean Sea, where there are three Lebanese air corridors. It was decided to open a previously not used corridor along the border with Israel. Only this corridor could be used in such conditions…," the source told RIA Novosti.

    Multiple cancellations and delays to flights to and from Beirut are expected in this regard, the source added.

    According to Zeaiter, Russia has notified authorities of Lebanon, Turkey and Cyprus that its navy would begin exercises in the Mediterranean Sea at midnight on Friday. Russian officials have not commented on the issue yet.

    As Max says, we have not been told. All that Moscow has announced is that six ships have been involved in the Med along with those in the Caspian but no breakdown as to who did what other than the TV cameras on the Caspian flotilla. The RuN seems to have at least the Rostov-na-Donu as one of its Kalibr assets in the Med.

    We have also had no indication as to why they are using so many cruise missiles. A guess would be that they are in a major hurry to hit these targets, say before the contents can be dispersed, so speed trumps cost.

    I understood that the total planes participating was indeed 69 including those who operate through Iran.

    So in fact only 12 more Su27 family planes were brought in for the VKS and they're at Krymsk.
