Dont know much about the Jordanian King, but reading this article makes me feel he is a clown. Now if its due to his western wife, I dont know.

Israeli and Jordanian Jets Confronted Russian Warplanes on Syrian Border, King Says

'The Russians were shocked and understood they could not mess with us,' says Jordanian King Abdullah, adds that Jordan 'spoke on behalf of Israel' with Russia.
    Haaretz Mar 25, 2016 4:39 PM

Israeli and Jordanian fighter planes jointly confronted Russian air force jets over the southern Syrian border, according to a briefing by Jordan's King Abdullah to senior members of the United States Congress.

The date of the confrontation was not disclosed during Abdullah's meeting in Washington on January 11. The incident was reported by Middle East Eye, who said it had seen an account of the meeting.

According to the report, the Russian planes were on a mission to survey Israeli defenses on the Syrian border. "We saw the Russians fly down, but they were met with Israeli and Jordanian F-16s, both together in Israeli and Jordanian airspace," Abdullah said.

"The Russians were shocked and understood they could not mess with us."

The incident triggered trilateral efforts to reduce the tension, during which Jordan often spoke "on behalf of Israel" when discussing missions related to the south of Syria with Russia," the king said.

"We discussed an idea on how to keep the Russians in their place," the king told the U.S. members of Congress.

The Israel Defense Forces spokesman refused to comment on the report, the MEE said.

Jordan and Russia subsequently agreed on the borders of their operations. ”We told Russia that we want to liquidate Nusra," Abdullah said, referring to the Al-Qaida affiliate in Syrian. "Russia asked that we give them their positions to hit them, but we refused, so we don't give them a reason to hit the FSA [Free Syria Army] there."

Abdullah said that the Russians were warned that “one bullet across the agreed border in the south, and all gloves are off.” :rotfl:

The joint efforts to reduce tensions were successful, except for an incident in which Russian bombers hit Nusra near the ceasefire line agreed with Moscow: "We over-reacted, so they got the message," Abdullah said.

The situation was different in the north of Syria, where "Russia was hitting everybody," Abdullah said. After the Russians argued that they were not getting targets, Jordan gave them specific coordinates it had received from the U.S.

Abdullah said Russian President Vladimir Putin's decision to launch air strikes in Syria came in response to a plea to Moscow from the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

"The Russians were shocked about how weak the Assad regime was and they felt suckered in," the king said. "So Putin needs a way out. Putin lost a passenger plan and a fighter jet, so he has a timeline where he needs to get out.”

Asked about what motivated Putin and whether he was seeking to become "king of the world, regaining Russian glory," Abdullah noted that the threat posed by the Islamic State (ISIS) came up in all his discussions with Putin and that whatever problems terrorism posed in Europe, it was 10 times worse for Russia because of the number of Russians and nationals from former Soviet countries fighting in Syria.

Asked about Putin’s influence on Assad, Abdullah replied: ”If Putin asks Assad to jump, Assad will ask how high.” He noted that when Putin summoned Assad to Moscow, the Syrian leader went alone and without advisers.

Abdullah claimed that Assad was now in a weaker position and more ready for a transition after inviting both Iran and Russian forces into Syria.

He said Turkey wanted Assad to leave immediately, while others wanted his departure in 18 months.

He said that if there was not any progress within two months of a ceasefire, the opposition would become frustrated and start fighting again and Putin, as an ex-KGB agent, understood that.

Black PR guys, just please don't post this garbage in here. The Israelis typically say the other way around. The US was scared to death the Russians were going to level the Southern Front in the mean time they did the Bassel Al Assad IAP perimetre.

The Israelis started in earnest as they contacted Russia saying they weren't against VKS blowing shit up as long as Hizb didn't get any goodie. To which Russia replied that Israel cut the maritime patrols along the coast. Which both happened. Russia let the IAF slip through twice and Israel stopped its 550's flights along the coast.

Also, both sides understood SHTF when Turkey pulled a Turkey. From there on you had all those super buddy articles about how the cooperation was good and Russia was doing a very proffessional job in Syria etc.

Also saying that Putin left, is exactly why this is clueless black PR, the Russians never left, they simply moved the goal posts. Now they've got the Syrians to fire artillery and that they have stocked enough firepower to keep this going for a week, they don't need to hit everyone, ISIS can be dealt with minimal assets. The full monty was needed for all participants. FSA/AASh/JAN/JAF/ISIS and all the Turkmens. Given half those groups are either routed or have subscribed into Pax Russiana, the rest can be taken more easily. Palmyra was a good opportunity to show off and score PR points. It's a desert, and rather flat with ridges to defend it. Once the Ridges are done, the City is gone. Ipso Facto that's what happened. This creates a false image of either difficulty or simplicity (according to the sides you cheer for). However IMO Isis never had more than 1500 people in and around Palmyra/Tadmor. So yeah losing 180 guys, including those 17 people killed by Red on Red isn't good. Now cutting down even half those dirtbags is a good result.

i just love how every major western media outlet , never give names of
their sources.. and always call them "anonymous officers" or a "General who wanst to be
indentified  told us". or an "international this or that " All that almost all the times pure propaganda. To try to use the death of Russian soldiers to instigate social unrest in Russia.
Reuters is just one of those propaganda outlets ,who try to pass as independent media ,but
its controlled too by the pro NATO club elite. who is behind the support of the terrorist that Russia is fighting.

NATzO turd media is not going to get far in stirring up Russians against their own country by using dead Russian heroes.
They best it will do is to get the 5th column liberasts to bleat the same shite over and over as it always does. But
this lunatic fringe has no popular base in Russia and every week they shrink into utter irrelevance.

There will be Duma elections soon and the NATzO media is preparing the usual rent-a-crowd theater.

It is all in english as well, not like it will actually do them any good anyway.  The media used this same tactic for decades and it hasn't worked, not like it will now.  The fifth columnists have been using western references for years as well to try and tarnish Putin's image and United Russia, but that also didn't work.  When Putin first stepped down and Medvedev became president, the west thought Medvedev would budge, and he only budged for Libya.  After that, he gave hell to Georgia.  So he didn't budge.  Now Putin is back and next elections coming up, and if United Russia wins again (most likely), then it will be another 7 years of west trying the same crap.  BTW, do we know for sure Putin is running in next elections?  My understanding is that he is not, since he can only run twice.

Edit: Just realized something but there is always contradiction in these statements. If Russian government is trying to hide a death of a soldier in Syria to refrain from international and domestic pressure, then why do they mention the other deaths that have happened? That contradiction alone disproves the articles.

This is a standard "NGO" (aka foreign state sponsored 5th column employing local and foreign paid agents) tactic to generate a myth.
They want to create the impression that there are hundreds of deaths covered up by concocting one or two "cases".  Then with a
persistent enough parrot chorus ("govorilnya") they intend to create a hysteria about some non-existent epic fail of Putin.   Of course,
this propaganda BS serves to also divert attention from the success of the intervention in Syria in saving Syrians from the hands of
    head-chopping, liver-eating, child-sodomizing, USA-sponsored terrorist scum.
