30 Israeli, Foreign Intelligence Officers Killed in Russia's Caliber Missile Attack in Aleppo

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Russian warships stationed in Syria's coastal waters targeted and destroyed a foreign military operations room, killing over two dozen Israeli and western intelligence officers.

"The Russian warships fired three Caliber missiles at the foreign officers' coordination operations room in Dar Ezza region in the Western part of Aleppo near Sam'an mountain, killing 30 Israeli and western officers," the Arabic-language service of the Russian Sputnik news agency quoted battlefield source in Aleppo as saying on Wednesday.

The operations room was located in the Western part of Aleppo province in the middle of sky-high Sam'an mountain and old caves. The region is deep into a chain of mountains.

Several US, Turkish, Saudi, Qatari and British officers were also killed along with the Israeli officers. The foreign officers who were killed in the Aleppo operations room were directing the terrorists' attacks in Aleppo and Idlib.

Earlier in September, the Syrian army units launched a preemptive strike on the terrorists of the so-called Aleppo Operations Room in their gathering centers near Castello road in the Northern areas of Aleppo and Mallah farms, foiling their plots to attack the region's supply route, a source said. The source said that the army's artillery units attacked the terrorists' gathering centers near Castello and Mallah farms in Zahra Abdo Rabbah, Kafar Hamra and Hurayatyn which killed and wounded dozens of militants.

Also, the Syrian air force attacked the terrorists' supply route in Northern Aleppo towards Hayyan and Adnan as well as the supply roads in Western Aleppo towards the North and smashed the terrorists' convoys in al-Aratab, Urom Kobra and Ma'ara al-Artiq which thwarted the terrorists' plots and forced many of them flee towards the Turkish borders.

Informed media sources disclosed earlier that the Syrian army has continued its advances in the Southern part of Aleppo, and regained control over several strategic areas in the town of Khan Touman. "A number of key warehouses of Khan Touman are now under the Syrian army's control," the Arabic-language media quoted an unnamed informed source as saying.

The source noted that the Syrian air force and army's artillery units also targeted the gathering centers and fortifications of the terrorists in Khan Touman.

very nice if accurate but it's very quiet around the net about it. given the nature of the personnel it maybe that way but would Russia really attack an intel base like that? the Israeli's would never let it go.

Strikes me as odd that such a base would exist in Aleppo, if it did then it would be even stranger that Russia would attack it, they know it would be bad politically.

The message is also confirmed here. Lots of unknowns though. If true this allows SAA to advance faster on Aleppo.

Yeah, they need to fix those boilers. Black smog all over the horizon Rolling Eyes
Good to see the MiG-29K rolling. Still very rare to see RuN carrier ops with any sort of decent weapon loadout. They need to do better that that.

The aircraft on the K are for self defence only so light loadouts would be normal.

The Syrian Express has very dramatically reduced in capacity this month as many of the ships were in the Kavkas-2016 exercises. Only one large landing craft has gone south up to the 16th of this month and that was on the 1st. Maybe there is about to be a convoy!

Interesting little bit in Basurin's daily report today

In the Mariupol direction there was registered the use of automatic fire direction artillery complexes “ArtOS” of foreign origin by the units of the 40th separate brigade.

    This is what it is

    ArtOS Software Protecting National Security
    May 18, 2016

Developers from the Noosphere Engineering School in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine have designed a specialized piece of software for artillery teams, intelligence officers, and topographical surveyors. The ArtOS software is currently being used to automatically control artillery guns in the field.

ArtOS software has helped reduce the time it takes to acquire a target and fire by up to four times. The system also minimizes potential mistakes while calculating the location of a potential target. ArtOS was designed under Noosphere’s social initiative which supports the Ukrainian army.

    What's up?

    Thursday, September 22, 2016 - 12:58

The Ukrainian side proved at the meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk on Wednesday that it is determined to hold a constructive dialogue, stated the envoy of the Donetsk People’s Republic to the talks Denis Pushylin.

"At the latest meeting we saw the completely new representatives of the security subgroup - it’s more right to say the representatives were the same, but they were determined to be constructive. In fact, the document (on disengaging forces on the contact line in Donbass) was agreed very quickly and then signed", reports TASS.

Pushylin reminded that "three pilot areas" on disengaging the sides have been approved, adding that if everything is implemented successfully the number of such areas will increase

Any independent confirmation of this report?:

    http://www.pravdareport.com/video/23-09-2016/135692-syria-0/

The Fars News has reported that 'The Russian warships fired three Caliber missiles at the foreign officers' coordination operations room in Dar Ezza region, killing 30 Israeli and western officers'. The US military along with its allies created the Field Operations Room in the Aleppo region, which was filled with intelligence services' staff. Members of the US, British, Israeli, Turkish, Saudi Arabian and Qatari intelligence services operated there.

Michel Chossudovsky, Professor of Economics at the University of Ottawa, Founder and Director of the Centre for Research on Globalization, Montreal, explained that intelligence facility was attacked by Russia in the immediate wake of the US Air Strikes against Syrian forces at Deir ez-Zor in support of the ISIS terrorists. The operations centre was located in the Western part of Aleppo province at the Sam'an mountain, where there are a lot of old caves. The region is deep into a chain of mountains. The centre was used to coordinate acts on the ground with the reconnaissance acts of drones as well as to carry out air strikes. According to the Fars, personnel of the intelligence services was involved in the US Air Forces' attack on the Syrian forces, which was carried out just after armistice agreements had been reached in Geneva.

I so hope this is true....   russia

Hopefully the new American president does not cause trouble by inserting American personnel into eastern Aleppo by parachuting and preventing bombing that place. Putin lost a year's time to finish this war by being tricked by Kerry that bastard.

Given the threat from Kirby that Russian aircraft will be shot down and other assets lost if Russia does not "Cooperate with Washington" in Syria, are we now very close to war. Russia either now kowtows to Washington or they will flood Syria with AA missiles and other equipment, tho they do that anyway. As the missiles will be in Syria means that in a sense there is no American bluff to call as they will carry out their threat of war by proxy no matter what, so what happens now. This is beyond talk, beyond reason, this is America directly threatening to wage proxy war on Russian forces in Syria, and from the rest of what Kirby said, also inside Russia. How many seconds before midnight are we?.......

Reading Kirby's transcript has me very concerned indeed, Khepesh. While the opposition has had access to a limited supply of MANPADS in the past (through Saudi, Turkey, Jordan, Israel and ultimately the US through proxy supply) Kirby's statements seem to imply direct, unmitigated support for the opposition, and ultimately ISIS. This will fast transpire the Syrian conflict into a full-blown proxy war. Even more concerning were, I think, the threats of terror on Russian soil, an altogether alarming statement in and of itself. Clearly the US is intent on inflicting as much damage under the Obama administration as possible, before the new president. If they were to implement full-blown arms supply to jihadist forces they must surely be aware of the immense amount of negative blowback such a policy will initiate on the home front. Do they even care anymore?

I have only a few fractured ideas as to how Russia could counter this, especially if the VKS is forced to fall back on using only high altitude bombing in support of the SAA, this will be seriously detrimental to large-scale offensives such as we saw in Palmyra, where heavy usage of rotary-wing CAS was very predominant.

    ...seconds from midnight indeed.
