I thought that there were a lot of Naval infantry already stationed in Tartus.

I know they are hard bit it would have been pretty cruel to have submitted them to the trip down.

Oh that F-15 would've been toast had their been a dogfight lol! An F-15 with an all land attack munition loadout, while the intercepting Su-30 is filled to the brim with AAM's, but of course F-15's could never 'lose' a dogfight according to it's Wikipedia page.

Yeah but in its defence that's a F-15E bomb truck.

Its called "sea-sickness training".
You may be correct. Perhaps those Naval Infantry soldiers were flown to Syria to get on board those 6 ships en-route to you know where.

Those sidewinders it is carrying either side of each drop tank are not for decoration...

You mean Russias get tough attitude with HATO has spread to its attitude to the Juice and so they have probably been told if they keep launching missiles via aircraft that those aircraft are going to be targeted and shot down.

Russian systems in Syrian hands seem to have been outstandingly effective... even when considering how ineffective western air defences have proven to be against Iranian ballistic missiles in Iraq and against drones and cruise missiles in Saudi Arabia.

The west totally relies on aircraft for air defence and it is clearly a weak link in western military power because air power is almost completely useless against small battlefield drones.

Keep the enemy on the wrong foot. Overload the command channels.
