The M777 is a lightweight gun designed to be helo lifted to hilltops. It is nominally designed to be towed by the barrel, but not over rough terrain like in Ukraine. Its really ill suited for this war.

this is for current conscripts army fighting now will clean out Odessa/Transnistria regions then Kharkov.

So this is going to be the catch all excuse for this POS. It was supposed to be light for hilltops. BS. It is a single use disposable piece of garbage.
Just how many tons of weight could be saved by degrading the barrel? It is not even close to a ton so why would it matter for delivery to hilltops since
no helicopter is going to carry a dozen of them.

For Donetsk or Lugansk reinforcements would go over Belgorod or a bit south. And at Kherson frontline everything is more than stable.

Similar to the frag Tochka they used on Kramatorsk, killing loads of civvies. Nasty.
