Plasma multi-channel engine for flights in space. Breakthrough of Russian scientists #Ракетостроение and astronautics Roman Barsky Today at 19:00 65 0 The original development of young Russian scientists can be a breakthrough in the field of electric rocket engines. The new plasma engine will overcome the classic shortcomings of modern electric rocket engines - one-vector and low thrust, a small full pulse, the creation of parasitic moments rotating the spacecraft, the requirement for an external magnetic field and much more. The Russian private space company Advance Prolapsion Systems, led by scientists-inventors Andrey Shumeyko and Aslan Pashayev, has developed a protolet sample of the world's first multi-channel plasma engine with the ability to generate thrust vectors in several directions. The use of such engines will reduce the cost and carry out new space missions before launching a spacecraft into orbits with different inclinations using one service spacecraft, as well as precisely approaching any space objects, for example, to clean up space debris in low orbits. "Developing the engine, our goal was to create a device that will be a breakthrough in the field of electric rocket engines and replace outdated systems that have serious drawbacks, including one-vector and low thrust, a small full pulse, the creation of parasitic moments rotating the spacecraft, the requirement for an external magnetic field and much more," comments Aslan Pashayev. "In multi-channel plasma engines, the plasma generation and acceleration stages are completely separated, which makes it possible to create thrust vectors in any direction using a single engine. That is, our customers will not wait for their inclination, but will put their spacecraft on board our service spacecraft and fly the first nearest flight into orbits, "comments Andrey Shumeyko. For 2 years of work, Advance Production Systems managed to test a laboratory sample of a multichannel engine, protect intellectual property, make a protolet sample of the engine, and also, together with its partner - Bauman Moscow State Technical University (which is the alma mater of the founding scientists of the company) - to begin the development of a spacecraft for flight tests scheduled for 2023. The company plans to use a multi-channel plasma engine for its own space transport system.

I love Plasma technology, I support ITER wherever i can.
The Tokamak-principle is our only renewable clean energy source to get out of the fossil fuel mess.

I love the Plasma-engine, but it would mean to maintain an sustainable Plasma field while bleeding plasma to an nozzle/engine.
Not impossible, but we need it first to get it running on earth Wink.

When it comes to this, i do not care about politics.
This is something we have to make work for everyone.

    Russian Space Program: News & Discussion #4 - Page 26 Unname10

How can you describe an energy source to your children, that is at the temperature of the core of the Sun itself. And we keep it in control with high-powered magnets and computers?.
And it it is as good as clean?.
Yet in case of calamity, when the magnets fail. it does not result in an meltdown?.

    https://www.iter.org/

No joke, i would work for ITER if they matched my salary currently.

We will have to wait for a detailed comparison to existing ion engines. It sounds good but is hard to quantify the innovation.

The tokamak plasma cannot produce a runaway failure. Any future viable fusion reactor based on this principle would be operating
at barely above breakeven and failure of the containment would just result in heat damage to the chamber. The fusion reactions
would shut down almost instantaneously with loss of plasma coherence and with any contamination from ablated chamber wall
material. By contrast with fission reactors everything hinges on the neutron cascade from the unstable fuel. Loss of geometry
of the fuel rods from overheating can lead to more neutron flux and meltdowns. One is like trying to push a load uphill, while the
other is like pushing it downhill. Loosely. This is why magnetic confinement fusion is so hard to achieve.

Soyuz launch vehicle with OneWeb communication satellites launched from Baikonur

MOSCOW, December 27 - RIA Novosti. The Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with the Fregat upper stage and 36 OneWeb communication satellites was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome , the broadcast is on the Roscosmos website.

The flight to the separation of the head unit with satellites at an altitude of 200 kilometers will last a little less than ten minutes, then the Fregat will deliver them to the mark of 450 kilometers, after which they will reach their orbits on their own.

This is the first launch from Baikonur of a rocket with so many OneWeb satellites. Prior to that, 36 vehicles were launched on Soyuz only from the Vostochny cosmodrome. The difference is due to the higher energy characteristics of the rocket when launched from Vostochny. Roscosmos announced work on optimizing flight trajectories from Baikonur.

Earlier, 11 out of 19 OneWeb satellites launched under the contract with Arianespace took place : four from Baikonur, six from Vostochny and one from Kuru. In 2022, six launches are planned from Baikonur (in January, February, two launches in April, May and August), as well as one launch from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana (February 10).

However, the launch was successful. The failure occurred at the stage of operation of the new upper stage - but the rocket fully completed the task. So if we are talking about a series of successful space launches, then it continues. If we are talking about a series of successful missions, then in September a military satellite was lost, and even earlier MLM Nauka had serious problems. Nevertheless, this year has still produced the best result for Russian cosmonautics, at least in the last ten years.

Persei booster with payload mockup separates from Angara’s third stage

MOSCOW, December 27. /TASS/. The Persei booster with a full-size payload mockup has separated from the third stage of the Angara-A5 heavy carrier rocket that was launched from the Plesetsk spaceport in Russia’s northwestern Arkhangelsk region, the Russian defense ministry said on Monday.

"The orbital block consisting of the Persei booster and the full-size payload mockup separated from the third stage of the Angara-A5 carrier rocket 12 minutes after the launch," it said.

The orbital bloc will be put in orbit by the Persei booster under the routine nine-hour scheme, when the booster’s engine is switched on four times.

The Angara-A5 heavy carrier rocket was launched by the Russian space forces from the Plesetsk spaceport at 22:00 Moscow time on Monday.

Deliveries of RD-171MV rocket engines for flight tests will begin in 2022

MOSCOW, December 31. / TASS /. The delivery of liquid-propellant rocket engines RD-171MV for flight tests of the Soyuz-5 launch vehicle will begin in 2022. This is stated in the message of Roskosmos, distributed on Friday.

"Delivery of RD-171MV for flight tests begins in 2022," the message says.

As noted in the state corporation, in 2021 NPO Energomash completed a series of fire tests of several copies of this engine in full.

"NPO Energomash also sent the RD-171MV engine to the Progress RCC (part of Roskosmos) for assembly and testing as part of the first stage of the launch vehicle," the message says.

In December 2020, the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin announced the first full-size fire test of the world's most powerful liquid-propellant rocket engine RD-171MV, all parameters were normal. This engine is being developed for the promising medium-class Soyuz-5 launch vehicle and a super-heavy rocket.

The first launch of a Russian rocket is expected on February 10 from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana, the head of Roscosmos said.

"So far we have plans for about 30 launches, but they will depend on operational necessity," Rogozin said, adding that each in the first three quarters of this year there will be about six launches, and then the load will increase."

Rogozin clarified that not all of the planned launches can take place, since their number is determined by the number of payloads. "This year we see the need to launch Glonass devices, including a new generation," he added.

Russian Ambassador: Russia and China are preparing to sign an agreement on the creation of a lunar station soon

    source

BEIJING, 25 January. /TASS/. The intergovernmental agreement between Russia and China on cooperation in the creation of a lunar station is almost ready and can be signed soon. This was stated at a press conference by Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Denisov.

"The agreement is almost ready, it seems that it can be signed soon enough," the diplomat said. He recalled that all states were invited to participate in the creation of the International Lunar Station.

"As far as I know, agreements are already being signed on certain research topics. Such agreements have been signed with eleven countries and international organizations, including Russian research organizations," Denisov said. According to him, "there is already a certain legal base in this direction."

The diplomat noted that this is a long-term cooperation program. As previously reported in the Chinese media, unmanned flights are supposed to be made first, and only around 2035 will the actual lunar station begin to be created.

Shit looks to be becoming real Very Happy

If (when) this gets signed it will likely create quite a stir geopolitically. It will be the final blow to all of those neocon idiots who insisted that Russia and China could never truly co-operate and can never be more than temporary allies of circumstance due to irresolvable mutual disagreements. Laughing

The Dragon and the Bear will be a great match for pushing space development and will ensure that the Murkans and their wretched Eurofaggot slaves don't get the endless void all to themselves. russia

The SHLV is not the Angara since it has multiple nozzles in the boosters. The Angara derivative in the slide you posted in another thread is
    shown with single nozzle modules.

I do not know that this thing is supposed to be. It is rendered as a single nozzle core stage surrounded by what looks like RD-171MV
equipped boosters. Maybe just some token graphic and not any actual SHLV.
