It is a long way in geographical meaning.
There are hardly any fortifications left there.

The other question is if there is a political decision to do it - which is still unclear to me. On the one hand, not doing that would just put the problems away. Onn the other hand, there might be some point of no return.

These Russian drones with EW instrument can probably be used to disturb the guidance of Ukraine's cruise and ballistic missiles in flight.

Not cutting off Ukraine from the sea will be a very big mistake for Russia. As soon as some agreements are signed, etc., NATO and many Western troops will appear in Odessa. It will be a direct threat to Crimea, etc.

I hope that Minsk 1.2, Istanbul have taught Putin something. Perhaps Russia is counting on Kiev to sit down at the negotiating table to negotiate some worthless papers, which Kiev and NATO will break after a few months.

Russia needs something to let the west keep the face, at least in front of each other.
The west will use everything left from "Ukraine" as missile launch pad against Russia. And for training of terrorists.

Russian troops have significantly improved their coordination and maneuverability using captured Starlink terminals in Ukraine, the Washington Post claims.

I find it hard to believe the Ukrainians would leave communications equipment like that logged on and didn't have any way of stopping the enemy from using their terminals.

I find very easy to believe that the Washington post wants its readers to think some US technology is useful and not a load of crap.

The Russian army has increased its military potential by using the weapons captured in Ukraine, The Washington Post reports, Gazeta.Ru reports .

So the Russian military is made stronger by using captured US and EU shit that failed the Ukraines forces.... maybe the kit is amazing and kievs forces just weren't using it correctly?

Or maybe they are full of shit.

The Ukrainian army, facing a shortage of weapons and numbers, has lost its main advantage – access to the Internet via Starlink.

My understanding was the MUSK blocked access to Starlink on Russian territory, which would make it as useless to the Russians as it would to the Ukrainians.

Next they will be saying that Chinese government controlled Tik Tok is also helping the Russians communicate to 12 year old girls in the west who are helping them with their military strategy...

At the same time, the US cannot influence the fact that Starlink terminals ended up in the hands of the Russian military. An officer of the 72nd mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which defended the Ugledar area, said that the Russian army was able to defeat the Ukrainian forces largely thanks to the use of Starlink.

And German generals said said it was Hitlers interference and winter that made them lose WWII...

Earlier, Minister of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev stated that the Russian low-orbit satellite constellation had attracted interest from friendly countries as an alternative to Starlink.

Why waste money on that when they can just pay for Starlink?

It is a long way to cut off Ukraine from the sea and reach the Dnieper along the entire width of Ukraine.

It is, but that really depends on whether they are walking because the enemy continues to fight or driving after the enemy military collapses.

These Russian drones with EW instrument can probably be used to disturb the guidance of Ukraine's cruise and ballistic missiles in flight.

Considering their major attack missiles and drones have had EW equipment from the start, this is not really much of a revelation.

You can't jam ballistic missiles. They operate autonomously through an inertial system. They may take corrections from GPS. A good ballistic missile like Iskander achieves its accuracy without GLONASS, it's only a possible support.

Their Excalibr artillery shells were rendered useless by GPS jamming... it depends how the intertial navigation system works... if it is getting signals telling it that it is off course, it might adjust its flight path and therefore miss what it was aimed at.

Depends on how good the ECCM equipment and programming is.

Putin is described as a brutal dictator and murderer in the west - the new Stalin

Actually is good because it means that he can say he is a brutal dictator and murder so there is no way they will negotiate peace with Russia so the war continues till Ukraine ceases to exist.

Guess where its going instead Very Happy

Germany suspends the transfer of major military equipment to Ukraine

▪Ukraine will no longer receive infantry fighting vehicles, howitzers and "Leopard" tanks, although the Bundeswehr still has around 300 armored vehicles, writes "Bild".

Germany will no longer send heavy military equipment to Ukraine, — Bild, citing sources in the Bundeswehr

According to the publication, Germany "does not believe that Ukraine will soon be able to carry out a counteroffensive."

However, it cannot be ruled out that this is an element of active measures on the part of the Germans

    Ukrainian Leo 1A5 with ERA.

Notably, the top of turret had no ERA.

The Ukrainians claim that they used the slat armour "umbrella" instead of ERA.

Or may be the top of Leo 1 was too thin to add more armour.

Cauldrons are too much work though. Much easier to leave a corridor mined, and primed for every kind of murderous fire the Russian artillery brigades can muster for everyone who wants to go in or out of the fire bag.  Twisted Evil

🇮🇷 Iran hasn't supplied Russia ballistic weapons—Iranian FM

💬 ''I clearly said and reiterate once again: We've not provided ballistic missiles to Russia. If Europe needs a case to appease Israel's blackmail, better find another story.'' — Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi wrote on his X account, referring to his meeting with EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrel and his Chief of Staff Enrique Mora.

I have paid attention to something else. Check the density that seems event and equal. That suggests very good disassembling and coverage. And very lown malfunction rate of the bomblets. Remind me the malfunction of US cluster ammo when fresh new? 😈

    Thanks for sharing the specs.

My point was drones armed with EW can disturb the navigation capabilities of Ukrainian cruise and ballistic missiles within their range. Different drones can be armed with different type of EW packages.

Counting public domain obituaries has just hit 517 000 ukrowehrmacht KIA.
Considering that those are clearly not all, and tens of thousand of MIAs - the overall tool is clearly in a 700k range.
