I am not saying that they are not capable, but I am saying that Russias support has dwindled by the looks of it and I have not seen any updates of modernized equipment for Donbass.

I am just afraid that Putin may have given into Ukraine and its retardation.  I am looking at it gloomly, I know, but current events does not give me hope, since Russia is willing to help break international laws for a country it condemned it doing so months ago, and said same country sanctioned, condemned and helped grow forces along its borders.  That isnt a friendly or allied country in my book.

Did you really expect Putin to film the weapons he is sending to Donbass and post it on youtube?

No, of course not.  I expected to see photos from Donbass soldiers themselves of their toys as we have seen plenty of times before in the past.

Well, you are wrong. The so called rebels have been reformed into full blown army. They have contracted army, and they receive last gen Russian personal equipment. Like 6B23 body armor and 6B7 helmets. Their artillery battalions are at full strength, unlike ukrainians. So are tank brigades and so on.

Well, I am sticking by my statements that:
1)France is not to be trusted and
2)Putin cannot use the term "respecting international law" without looking like a hypocrit for helping France break it.  Those terrorists that attacked France were the fault of France and that still does not justify their place in Syria. Assad invited Russia and I fell it looks like Russia is going to over extend its rights on that invitation.  And if France does do what most western countries tend to do, and go against their own words and agreements and attacks Assad, then Russia may lose its rights in Syria and the bases as it wont be a trusted country anymore.

Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers used in Syria strikes


Russian strategic bombers, Tu-95MS and Tu-160, took part in the Syria operation. According to the account of the operation given to the president by the military (see the video above at 5:10), the operation so far involved 5 Tu-160 bombers and 6 Tu-95MS (based in Engels), as well as 14 Tu-22M3 (based in Mozdok). The bombers (probably only Tu-160 and Tu-95) are said to have launched 34 long-range cruise missiles.

I may be wrong, but it well may be the very first use of Tu-95MS and Tu-160 in combat. Tu-22M3 bombers have been used before - in Afghanistan and in Georgia in 2008 (I'm not sure about Chechnya).

The whole thing is well worth watching. At some point (12:30) the president instructs the commander of the Moskva cruiser, deployed in the Mediterranean, to establish contact with the French aircraft carrier group and to "work with them as allies".

But what a weird setting, this war room! What's up with all these neat rows of officers in color-matched uniforms looking at their computers? Flowers add a nice touch too.

The first video is Kh-55. The one that is being towed is Kh-101. But nothing says that it didn't work as intended.

It is possible we are witnessing a tectonic change in world geopolitics and military operations. If you had told me 5 days ago that our Mockba Battle Group would be ordered to cooperate with a NATO battle group by our CiC I would have questioned your sanity.

We had missiles launched from a tiny river fleet in the landlocked Caspian Sea that flew right up IGIL's ass. We have Russian strategic bombers pasting IGIL et al in their holes. We have French assisting RuAF in attacking IGIL and other vermin. We have SAA attacking everywhere with lots of assistance from Iran, Hezzbulah and others. We have our boys flying from Lataka day and night pounding the shit out of IGIL et al. We have our home fleet, Mockba and his suite, personally and publicly ordered by the CiC to cooperate with the French Mediterranean Battle Fleet in the fight against IGIL. It's going to be an interesting few days. I would aver that the candles will be burning late in DC and Langley.

Also, our CiC has offered a $50,000,000 reward, I don't know if it's 'dead or alive', for those who slaughtered our civilians in the downed aircraft. I am looking forward to the results from that offer with avid attention.
