He still has to reckon with the 104 big money men in Russia

Abramovich was negotiating in Istanbul in 2022 and Rotenberg and Volozh also has some power until they had to flee to Israel

He has the sovereign power, but he still has to bargain with these men

Only one issue, those drones are flying among flight of civil jets in the black sea.  Even if they fly roughly 20K above the rest, if shot down, may damage civil jets below it.
Yemen is not running globe spanning ISR missions that would be jeopardized if drones start getting put on the menu.

Unfortunate that civilians die. But Russia loses a lot more if ISR assets start getting blasted at this juncture.

Only to the extent that they run the big enterprises and know what they're talking about when it comes to profits vs losses and creating jobs and so on

In that sense sure, Putin has to listen to their concerns and try to find a solution.

But their money in and of itself brings them no power. Russia's sovereign wealth fund, treasury and earnings eclipse their own valuations several fold.

If you can elbow your way into a negotiation with Ukraine about an existential threat like war in 2022 , you have way more say then just financial and business matters

I don't buy that. Abramovich was just someone that both Russia and the UK found acceptable as a go-between, given that he has a lot to lose in both countries.

The oligarchs don't have much power. They had no choice but to go back to Russia and with that, Putin and rest of the government know they got them by the balls.

Bases are short for base of operations. What the **** do you think they are doing in those places other than sit around suck air and eat mortar fire? Razz

Point is, America has bases and cultivated relationshits with all sorts of traitors in every shithole on this planet. Russia can't possibly match that without drones and sats.

It's Daegestan. These stans, predominantly Muslim regions, are shitholes filled with Islamic extremists and easy to control from outside using their religion.

It's always been a hotbed for Russia.

I'm more concerned for the civilians of Crimea.  As harsh and sad as that sounds.

Before people start giving me some anecdotal evidence of "what about Tatarstan?", there are always exceptions to a rule. Majority of the rest are bad. If funding for Chechnya dried up, it would devolve to same thing as Daegestan.

Anyway, hopefully this gets resolved sooner than later. Spreading through daegestan these attacks.

151 people are injured from Ukraines attack in Crimean Beach.

Russia will not act. It will launch missiles and drones at various buildings but that's it.

The whole West is funding this war, they're helping Ukraine attack inside Russia now and Putin is scared to take out their drones in the black sea which are helping to kill Russian civilians...

Is Russia listening to China who are telling them to not retaliate like they should? Is Putin a coward... Is Putin waiting for Trump to win and hoping he could talk with him? Is it a combination of these things? It makes no sense...

don't worry, fall & winter cold is only 3 months away in Ukraine, so ther's plenty of time to level the power grid even more substantialy than before.

The media report that as a result of the CTO in Derbent and Makhachkala, 6 militants were eliminated.

All of them are natives of the village of Sergokala; according to the same media, the militants were led by the son of the head of the Sergokala region, Omarov, who has already been detained.
