Summary of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on the progress of the special military operation (for the period from October 5 to October 11, 2024)
From October 5 to 11, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out 38 group strikes with precision weapons, including hypersonic aeroballistic missiles "Dagger", as well as attack unmanned aerial vehicles. As a result of the strikes, oil and gas industry and energy facilities that provided the work of enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, as well as the infrastructure of military airfields, were hit. In addition, workshops for the production and storage of unmanned boats and UAVs, fuel bases, ammunition depots and military-technical equipment, as well as temporary locations of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, nationalist formations and foreign mercenaries were affected.
During the week, units of the North group of forces continued to carry out an operation to destroy the Armed Forces of Ukraine formations in the Kursk region, during which they liberated the settlements of Novaya Sorochina and Pokrovsky. Air strikes, unmanned aerial vehicles and artillery fire defeated units of six mechanized, tank, three airborne assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade, four air defense brigades and a National Guard brigade. Units of the motorized infantry, Jaeger, airborne assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two air defense brigades and a National Guard brigade were defeated in the Volchansk and Liptsovsky directions. During the week in the area of responsibility of the North group of forces, enemy losses amounted to over 2,090 military personnel, nine tanks, 32 armored combat vehicles, 26 vehicles, a Czech-made Vampire multiple rocket launcher and 25 field artillery guns. Five electronic warfare and counter-battery warfare stations were destroyed, as well as two field ammunition depots.
During the week, the units of the Zapad group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defense and occupied more advantageous positions. They defeated the formations of two tank, six mechanized, assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two defense brigades and two National Guard brigades. 23 counterattacks of the AFU assault groups were repelled. The enemy lost up to 2,920 troops, two tanks, 16 other armored combat vehicles, including eight M113 armored personnel carriers manufactured by the United States, 46 vehicles and 35 field artillery guns, of which 11 self-propelled artillery units and 155-mm howitzers supplied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine by NATO countries. In addition, 13 electronic warfare and counter-battery warfare stations were destroyed, as well as 22 field ammunition depots.
As a result of the decisive actions of the units of the "Southern" group of troops, the settlements of Zhelannoe Second and Ostrovskoye of the Donetsk People's Republic were liberated. The manpower and equipment of five mechanized, motorized infantry, two infantry, assault, mountain assault, amphibious assault, two airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a defense brigade and two National Guard brigades were defeated. 22 counterattacks of the AFU assault units were repelled. The enemy's losses amounted to 4,790 military personnel, four armored combat vehicles, 53 vehicles and 45 field artillery guns, 37 of them Western-made. Five electronic warfare stations and 10 field ammunition depots were destroyed.
The active actions of the units of the Center group of troops liberated the settlement of Grodovka in the Donetsk People's Republic. The formations of the tank, seven mechanized, motorized infantry, two infantry, jaeger, airborne brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two marine brigades, three defense brigades and three National Guard brigades were defeated. 58 counterattacks of enemy assault groups were repelled. During the week, the losses of Ukrainian formations in this area amounted to 3,370 servicemen, four tanks, including Leopard tanks made in Germany and AMX-10 tanks made in France, 11 other armored combat vehicles, including the M113 armored personnel carrier and the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle made in the United States. 27 vehicles and 26 field artillery pieces were destroyed.
As a result of the coordinated actions of the units of the Vostok group of forces, the settlement of Zolotaya Niva of the Donetsk People's Republic was liberated. The manpower and equipment of two mechanized, motorized infantry brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, four air defense brigades and a National Guard brigade were defeated. 10 counterattacks of the AFU assault units were reflected. The enemy lost up to 780 troops, five armored combat vehicles, including two US-made M113 armored personnel carriers and 51 vehicles. 16 field artillery pieces were destroyed, 12 of them produced by NATO countries.
The units of the Dnepr group of forces defeated the formations of two mechanized, infantry, mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and four air defense brigades. The losses of the Armed Forces amounted to 480 soldiers, 27 vehicles and 14 field artillery pieces. Seven electronic warfare and counter-battery warfare stations were destroyed, as well as four field ammunition depots.
During the week, 43 Ukrainian servicemen surrendered on the line of contact.
During the week, air defense means shot down three ATACMS tactical missiles manufactured in the United States, three guided Hammer bombs manufactured in France, a guided missile of the S-200 anti-aircraft missile system converted for firing at ground targets, 33 HIMARS rockets manufactured in the United States, as well as 603 unmanned aerial vehicles of the aircraft type.
In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 646 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 33419 unmanned aerial vehicles, 582 anti-aircraft missile systems, 18607 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1470 multiple rocket launchers, 15988 field artillery and mortars, 27145 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
